Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku smiled faintly when everyone said they were leaving, and he nodded. He didn't exactly plan on tagging along, though. His smile disappeared as he looked to the woman he loved, standing next to her. "Come with me?" he asked softly, leaning down slightly to whisper it to her. He needed to speak with her.

Light looked over at Riku, noticing immediately that his smile had faded away. "Sure," she said, keeping her voice just as soft as his. She was half-surprised by his question, since he had insisted she get some family time earlier. It must have been important that he see her if he was taking her away like this.

Riku looked to the others at the answer. "We're gonna go on a walk of our own," he told them, catching some attention. "We'll see you guys later." He lifted a hand in a faint wave, unable to ignore Snow's sly smile.

"Yeah. We'll catch you later, lovebirds," Snow said with a smirk, his eyes darting to Lightning when Riku looked away at the name. They hadn't seen each other in a month or so, right? That was what he heard last from Serah, since Lightning was on the Lindblum for that long. It made sense that they wanted some alone time.

Lightning rolled her eyes at the name, setting a hand on her hip and giving Snow a look. You just wait until later. He wouldn't get away with calling her and Riku "lovebirds", when he and Serah were so much worse than they were. But then again, Lightning and Riku could be pretty romantic when they wanted to be. They weren't that way too much in public, though; they had reputations to keep.
Snow caught that look, and he only winked at Lightning. He then jerked his head. Get going, he told Lightning silently. She needed to be with her significant other.

"See you guys back at the house later," Lightning said upon seeing Snow's look and gesture. She caught Serah nod and say her goodbye, Sazh doing the same while Dajh was too busy blabbering away to one of the girls. She smiled weakly at her family before she turned and started walking away, sure Riku would let her know where they were going soon.
Riku walked with Lightning, taking a few steps to catch up with her before they left the others to their tour. He didn't have to tell her where they were going, because this path eventually led to the one place they always were in the past: the beach. Once they reached their destination, he didn't say anything. Not yet. Instead, he looked out at the water that gently rolled in as the sun began to set. His hands were once again stuffed into his pockets, a habit he had when he was upset about something or thinking deeply. It was both, really.

Light stood beside Riku, a soft breeze making her straight pink hair shift so it was in front of her shoulders a little more. He wasn't speaking at all, and neither was she. The silence between them was fairly peaceful, since the location was so beautiful. It was just a beach, but Destiny Islands was always a gorgeous place. She missed it more than she thought she did.
Riku didn't even know where to begin. He'd been thinking about things all day, ever since he left Lightning to be with her family. He hadn't stopped either, though dinner and shopping did distract him for a little while. But...he was still upset with how he acted in the future. He was so bitter, and cruel. How could he pin Lightning against a wall and take her hopes and dreams away from her? It hurt to think about.

But of course, Lightning missed the people in her life more than anything else. She saw a lot of the people in the future, but she didn't really know them. She didn't even know Riku that well. He was different in so many ways. And though she loved him, because he was Riku, he wasn't the Riku that she belonged with. She was glad to be standing by the side of the Riku she fell in love with.
"...You were unhappy with me," Riku whispered then, his voice soft over the gentle waves. "I realized it, but I didn't want to believe it." That was why he was so headstrong and so angry; he hadn't wanted Lightning to get away from him again.

Light turned to look over at Riku, confusion written on her facial expression. "What?" she said softly in question. What's that supposed to mean? And where'd that come from? Whatever Riku was referring to, it obviously wasn't pleasant. Had he been dwelling on it all night? She hadn't noticed anything wrong at dinner...
"When you were with me before," Riku said, his eyes still resting on the water as he refused to look Lightning in the eye. "You were miserable, and I didn't care." He was too busy trying to keep her with him, even if she wasn't her happiest. Just thinking about it hurt his heart. How could he be so heartless?
  • Author
Lightning's eyes softened at the comment. "I think you did care, later on," she said softly. At first, he was obsessed with keeping her by his side. But later, he loosened his grip on her a little bit and started to consider her happiness. At least, outwardly. She assumed that his actions reflected his heart.
"Too late, actually," Riku said, his eyebrows furrowing as he grew angry with himself. "You were already broken." He was too late to change things, at least emotionally. Lightning was a mess, and he disregarded it for a while. But when she was about to leave, he snapped and let his emotions control him. Sorrow was the one that made itself present the most, or so he remembered. And she had been crying... Riku closed his eyes at that, releasing a soft breath. That memory burned.

Light looked back out at the ocean, seeing the waves roll in softly. "I was broken from the start," she said softly. When he first tore her away from her family, she was already on the brink of losing it. She lost her home, and she wasn't so sure she would survive. She wouldn't have if it wasn't for Riku.
Because of me, Riku silently pointed out. He was the one that tore her away from her family in the first place. She wouldn't have suffered in death, even if he would have without her. But...he did lose her, and he lost himself as well. Was that why he was so angry? So cruel to her?

Light stared at the water that was reflecting the setting sun, her pale blue eyes soft. She was a little...embarrassed, at how the future went. Riku couldn't keep it together, but she couldn't either. She was so clingy to him later on, when he kept scaring her. And she laid in bed for days without eating anything but a few nibbles of food. That was completely unlike her.
"I hate to associate myself with the Darkness," Riku said then, breaking the silence as he opened his eyes to glare at the water. "But I was no better than a Heartless. I was selfish because I was alone, and I didn't care what anyone said to me. I did what I wanted..." He ground his teeth together. "After I lost you, I went nuts."
  • Author
Light shook her head softly, looking down at her feet. "You're being too hard on yourself," she said quietly. He wasn't a Heartless, and he did care what people said to him. He had to have listened to his friends to keep going after seven years of being alone. He just...didn't listen to her. The woman he loved.
"And you're not being hard enough," Riku replied tightly. He glanced over at Lightning, his eyes turning sharp at his own anger. It was one of the many emotions he had to fight off earlier today, and he was sure the others would surface soon. They always did.
  • Author
Lightning looked over at Riku, seeing the anger in his eyes. She immediately felt herself become defensive because of his expression. "What good would it do if I was critical enough of you? You want me to get angry and bitter so that this can tear us apart?" I don't want to lose you. The real you.
"I at least want you to be honest," Riku said, his eyebrows furrowing. He then forced himself to look away. "It would help convince me that my anger isn't illogical. After everything I did to you, I would expect you to be as infuriated as you were the night you almost left." The night she summoned the portal and almost took off. The night he destroyed the watch, along with her hopes of saving her family.

Lightning looked back at the ocean, remembering all of the emotions she felt because of Riku's injustice. "...To be honest, you may think you've seen me angry before, but I had never been more furious in my life," she said softly. Riku saved her and made her family fall to their deaths in the process. And then he destroyed the watch that she could have used to save them. She slugged him in anger, but she would have done worse than that if she had the chance.
"Think?" Riku repeated, glaring at the ground. "I felt it. You hit me, remember?" He would never forget how heartbroken that memory made him feel. It made him grind his teeth together, his eyes closing again as he fought off his emotions. Lightning must have been infuriated, because he couldn't imagine her hitting him like she did. He set her off, and he was surprised that she was still here.
