Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light furrowed her eyebrows, looking down. "That wasn't the full extent of my anger," she stated softly. She slugged him, yes. But she had wanted to do so much worse than that. She probably would have dragged Riku back up to his feet and then slugged him again if she had the choice. And that still wouldn't have been good enough.
Riku didn't say anything at that. Those words hurt...badly. He never thought Lightning would have hit him, but she did. He didn't argue against it, though, because he had been stupid and heartless. He was cruel to her. She didn't deserve that from him, and she shouldn't have been with him in the first place. How could she still be with him after seeing the person he became?

"I mean, I thought that you...killed them," Lightning said softly, her hands curling into fists by her sides. She remembered thinking that Riku was a murderer and a traitor after he destroyed the watch that could save her family. She didn't want to be near him at all, because he was acting so heartless. So unlike the Riku she loved.
"I did," Riku said softly, remembering how he had physically torn Lightning from her friends. He did cause them to fall to their deaths; there was no doubt about it in his mind. He was awful. Absolutely awful.

Light looked over at Riku, eyes narrowed as she stared at him. "No, you didn't," she said lowly. The Maker was the one that killed her family, not the person that she loved. If the future went the way that it was supposed to, then they were killed by Lightning getting hit and dropping them. It was the Maker's fault.
Riku didn't reply, opening his eyes to glare at the sand. He continued to fight his anger and sorrow, his grief and hatred. He didn't like being this conflicted, but he had to deal with it. He was terrible to Lightning, and he couldn't believe that she still took him back after all he did.

"Riku, look at me," Lightning said lowly, seeing that he still didn't believe her. She had herself convinced that the Maker killed her family, because it was so much easier to believe that than to believe Riku was responsible. She couldn't live with him if he really murdered her family. She just couldn't.
Riku didn't want to do as Lightning asked, so he hesitated for a moment. Continuing to fight his emotions, he tried to wipe them clear from his eyes as he finally turned his head to meet Lightning's gaze. He just stared at her, not saying a thing.

Light's pale blue eyes locked onto Riku's aqua ones, and she saw that he was trying to put up a mask for her. And she hated it. But she still said the words that she had to say, saying it slowly so that Riku would understand her. "You didn't do it."
Riku's eyes stayed locked with Lightning's, the words surprising him slightly. She sounded like she honestly believed that, but he wasn't sure what to believe. This was all a big mess, which confused him to no end. If Riku hated one thing, it was being confused.

Light shook her head softly, taking a small step closer to Riku. She lifted a hand to his cheek softly and looked into those beautiful aqua eyes, hoping that her words and eyes could convey the truth to the one she loved. "You didn't," she repeated quietly, saying it for the third time.
Riku closed his eyes, both at the words and at the touch. He believed her now, seeing how sincere she was; it was hard not to see the truth from her. But he couldn't see how she was touching him so gently, with love. Didn't she hate him? Didn't she want to be as far away from him as possible?

Light noticed how Riku closed his eyes, and she didn't order him to look at her again. It seemed like he got the point. She exhaled a soft breath and let her own eyes shut, her thumb running over the skin of Riku's cheek. She didn't know what else to say now.
Riku felt the gesture, and he nearly lost it at that. But he ground his teeth together, inhaling a breath through his nose. "...You shouldn't be here," he whispered then, his eyebrows furrowing over his closed eyes. "Not with me." She deserved better, much better. She wasn't happy with him.

Light shook her head softly, still keeping her hand on Riku's cheek. "This is where I belong," she whispered. "By your side." She shouldn't have been with Riku, because it was chance that they met. She pushed him away so many times, and he shoved her away too. But here they were, together because they loved each other. She hoped it was always this way.
Riku felt his eyes sting at the words, and he shook his head slightly, though not enough to affect Lightning's hand on his cheek. "Didn't you see who I'll become?" he asked, opening his eyes to look at her. "How can you be with someone like that? You deserve better..." So much better. Maybe this was a wake up call for him, that way he realized that he had to let her go for her to be happy.

Lightning shook her head again, opening her eyes to look up at Riku. "I don't think that you'll become him," she whispered softly. Not that he was a completely bad person, he was just...lonely. Desperate. "I'm here now. That has to mean something."
Riku shook his head again, believing there was more to it than that. He felt his eyes sting again, and he ground his teeth together to keep his lip from quivering. He wouldn't break down here, not in front of Lightning.

"Why is it so hard for you to believe that you won't turn into that lonely, hurt person?" Lightning asked softly, moving her hand along Riku's cheek and tucking back some of his silver hair. Didn't he see that the future was going to be different now? Death wouldn't take her away from him! Things would be okay.
"...Because I can't do anything right," Riku confessed weakly, his voice trembling slightly as his sorrow became more present. Every time, he messed up somehow. His mind retreated to the thoughts he created earlier, about how awful he messed up at the beginning of things. He always hurt Lightning somehow. It wasn't fair.

Light shook her head softly, her gentle blue eyes on Riku. "You won me back, didn't you?" she asked quietly. That was definitely something that Riku did right. So many times, she tried walking away from him, but every time, he got her back. Even in the future. After he destroyed the watch and stopped her from leaving, he proved that he was still the Riku she knew. If he hadn't done that, she wouldn't have been with him today.
Riku hesitated before nodding, though in his head he believed it was luck. True, he was very persistent, both in the past and in the future. But how far would that actually go? He couldn't keep having that kind of luck, not every time. Eventually it would run out.

"We've both made so many mistakes, whether it's me walking away or you bringing me back in the wrong way," Light said softly, her voice nearly a whisper. "But now's our time to do things right." Nothing was going to separate them again. Not the Corps, not time, and not death. Now more than ever, time was on their side.
Riku opened his eyes, his gaze finding Lightning's. He was slightly surprised to discover it was watery. Was he really crying? "...I'm sorry," he said softly. He was incredibly sorry, for all he did to her in the future. He was cruel, when she just needed a shoulder to lean on. He pushed her away instead.

Lightning kept her soft blue eyes on Riku, though she was surprised at the tears. "I know," she said quietly. She knew how sorry Riku was over everything that happened, and she knew he would take it back if he could. She was willing to forgive him and move on from this because she loved him with all her heart.
