Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The vision of Lightning crying beneath him appeared in Riku's head, and he shook his head of silver hair slightly, closing his eyes. "I'm so sorry," he said, a tear leaving his eye and trailing down his cheek. He never wanted to be weak, especially in front of Lightning. But he was, now and in the future. He was so desperate to keep her with him that he chose the most cowardly route in destroying the watch. He upset her and nearly lost her...twice. Just the thought of her being dead upset Riku more. He couldn't live without her in his life somehow. He just couldn't.

Light's eyes remained soft as she stepped closer to Riku, her hand partially on his cheek and partially on his neck. "It's okay..." she said softly, leaning her face up closer towards his as she was just a few inches away. Within a few seconds, the distance was less than that. Lightning closed her eyes and gently leaned up, connecting her lips with Riku's in a kiss. Don't cry...
Riku felt his stomach knot at the kiss, and a tear also left his eyes again. His eyebrows furrowed over his eyes in confusion, the boy not understanding. She...really wanted to be this way with him, after all he'd done? He didn't fight the kiss, regardless of the fact that a part of him was enjoying it while another part questioned it.

Light could sense Riku's hesitation, and she lifted her other hand to his shoulder upon feeling a tear hit the hand that was on his cheek. She wiped at the tears with her thumb, keeping her kiss gentle. She prayed that Riku would accept that she was still giving him her love, even if he didn't feel he deserved it. He was far from perfect, but so was she. She loved him despite his imperfections, now and forever.
Riku slowly lifted one of his hands, setting it on Lightning's waist as he kissed her back gently. He was fighting his sorrow, though he only continued to release tears. He hated being so vulnerable and weak, but it was okay, right? Because this was Lightning, this was Claire. He loved her, and always would. That was why he wanted the best for her, but what if he wasn't it?

Lightning pulled back from the kiss gently after a few moments, opening her eyes and seeing Riku crying. He was so strong all the time, but here he was, crying now. She lifted her hand off his shoulder and set it on his cheek, using her thumbs to wipe at the moisture that escaped from his eyes. She knew he didn't like crying in front of her, but at least he wasn't running away. Maybe she could help him through this. She would at least try to, since he meant so much to her.
Riku sniffled softly, keeping his eyes closed as he forced the tears to stop falling. He didn't want them to anymore. It was too embarrassing. "...Sorry," he said softly, apologizing for being so weak. He was supposed to be strong for her, but he wasn't.

Light shook her head softly, somehow knowing that Riku was referring to his tears for this apology. "I've blubbered much worse in front of you before," she joked weakly, smiling faintly. She sobbed in front of Riku in the future. And her grief was so extreme...It made her very, very vulnerable. She didn't like it, but now Riku had no reason to feel shy about breaking down in front of her. Breaking down happened to the strongest of them.
Riku opened his eyes, moisture lingering in them as he shook his head faintly. "That's not funny," he told Lightning with a pained expression. He was the reason she had cried so much then, and it hurt him to think about it. He was so cruel. It blew his mind how he could be that way towards her. He vowed at that moment to never let it happen again. He would treat her like gold. He treasured her, after all.

Lightning's smile disappeared that quickly. "...Sorry," she said softly, realizing that he was right. She had just wanted to try to make the moment lighter, but clearly her comment wasn't going to do that. She supposed that there was nothing funny about how hard she cried, and there never would be. She only cried when she was very heartbroken.
Riku looked away from Lightning, over to the side to gaze at the water briefly. Nothing was funny about that kind of future. It was torturous, to both him and Lightning. He didn't want their future to be like that, if they actually had one together.

"What I meant was...it's okay for us to be vulnerable in front of each other, right?" Lightning said softly, speaking before Riku could get too upset again. She was vulnerable in front of him, and he was vulnerable in front of her now. Neither of them liked being vulnerable, but it was okay to let down their guard when they were with each other. They could trust each other.
"Yeah," Riku answered softly, sniffling again. The last time he actually cried...it must have been when he thought he lost Lightning in the Realm of Darkness. That had been terrifying, but he did lose her, in another life. It was awful. But he hoped he didn't cry for a long time. He didn't like to.

Light gently moved her hands across Riku's face, moving them so that they were further back than they were before. She wanted so badly for him to see that things could be okay now, despite the problem Gran Pulse and Cocoon were now facing. This incident didn't have to tear her and Riku apart, and he didn't need to feel guilty over what his future self did. It wasn't his fault things happened the way they did.
At the movement, Riku looked at the person before him. "...I love you," he told her hoarsely, his voice thick from his sorrow. He didn't want to lose her, but he did want her to be happy. If he couldn't have both, he had to accept it, unlike his future self.

"I love you too," Lightning responded softly, one of her thumbs briefly moving over Riku's skin. Despite all the words he said and all the actions he performed, she still loved him very much. She wasn't willing to give up on him, ever. She'd always have faith that he found his way back home in the end. And she knew he'd have the same faith in her.
Riku smiled weakly at the returned words. From now on, he would focus on helping Lightning cope with the loss of her home. If that meant giving her space, he would. Or if it meant for him to distract her somehow and cheer her up, he would try his hardest.

Light smiled weakly at Riku's faint smile, her hands moving to his shoulders. "So, what now?" she asked softly, her smile fading away. Did he have any other plans for the rest of the night that she should have known about? He surprised her with dinner, obviously. And the clothes. Did he really pick for her to wear a dress?
Riku felt his old self returning, his smile remaining as he looked Lightning over. "Well, I could tell you again how beautiful you look in that dress," he told her softly. She really did, though. Serah was a big help with shopping the other day.

Light lowered her gaze to Riku's chest, feeling shy. "And I could blush again," she murmured, lightly shaking her head as she smiled weakly. It wasn't often that she got dressed up, so whenever she did, it was weird. But a good weird, since Riku liked this so much. He always called her beautiful a lot whenever she wore anything different than her usual outfit.
"That's okay. It's kinda cute," Riku said, feeling himself beginning to cheer up. He guessed Lightning had that kind of affect on him. Sometimes he was upset when things weren't going well, but ultimately he felt better when he was with her. It was just that natural attraction.

"It's also kinda annoying, so I'll change the topic and point out how nice you clean up," Lightning said, her smile widening a little as she looked up at Riku. He was in jeans, yes, but he still looked nice. And he wasn't wearing an extremely tight shirt, so the waitress at dinner tonight wasn't going gaga over his muscles. She was glad for that.
Riku's smile grew. "You know how well I take compliments," he told her softly. "Keep talking." He was only joking, boasting though staying subtle. He knew Lightning was careful with his pride, and because he admired that, he wasn't going to do anything to mess it up.

Lightning laughed softly at the comment, since she wasn't expecting it. But Riku did have a point, as he often did. "I'm just glad you didn't wear a skin-tight shirt so that all the waitresses in the restaurant could check you out," she stated quietly, a small smirk forming on her lips. Last time he did that...It really ended badly.
Riku looked down at the navy polo he was wearing. It was fitting, but not too tight. Not like the shirt he wore the night he took Lightning to Nautilus. "Flattering of you," he admitted, looking back up at her. "But like I said before, the only girl I want checking me out is you." And he meant it. He loved her; her opinion mattered to him.
