Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"Looking for a new job," Riku said, his eyebrows furrowing at the thought. "The Islands are almost fixed up. Construction won't be needed much anymore." He had to start looking early, so he could keep getting money. He needed to support himself, since he still needed to move out of the house. And he wanted to support Lightning in the long run...if this didn't turn ugly.

"Mm," Lightning hummed with a small nod, furrowing her eyebrows slightly at the mention of construction. She was sure nobody would try to fix Cocoon; it seemed like it was beyond repair. The outer shell must have shattered when it hit Gran Pulse. But she wouldn't think about that now.
Riku remained in his spot, standing a few feet away from Lightning. "So...what'd you need to talk about?" he asked softly, his hands back in his pockets. She sounded too serious about this upcoming conversation for him to think it was nothing important. It was, and he feared the worst.

"Come sit," Light invited softly, motioning to the space on the side of her. Jazz was on one side, so Riku could sit on the other side, right beside her. This wasn't bad news, really. It had its pros and cons, and in the end, she felt like Riku would be happy with her choice. He would probably reject it at first, but she wasn't changing her mind.
Riku took his hands out of his pockets, lowering his eyes to the spot Lightning patted as he made his way over. He lowered himself to the dock in silence, not saying anything as he waited. He needed to sit for this news?

Lightning set her hand in her lap, looking down at her feet as she prepared herself to share the news. Please don't fight me over this... she mentally pleaded, stalling because that was what she feared the outcome to be. But she did speak after a few seconds. "My family had a little meeting today..."
Riku's eyebrows furrowed at that, not expecting this to be how the conversation started at all. Did Light tell them about what he did, and how he treated her? Did they want them to break up? "...What about?" he asked softly, staring at the water.

"About what to do about home," Lightning responded softly. "My family likes it here, but this isn't their home. And even if Cocoon is gone, Gran Pulse is like a second home after all the time we spent there. ...They're going back, to create new lives for themselves there."
Riku looked over at Lightning then. Being as observant as ever, he couldn't ignore how she said "they" instead of "we". "You're going with them," he assumed, just in case she forgot to mention that detail. She was leaving again, but he would make the trip. He always would...if she still wanted him to.

Lightning looked over at Riku, returning his gaze as she softly shook her head. "No, Riku, I'm not," she said quietly. She wasn't returning to Gran Pulse with her family. Instead, she was going to stay here. This was more of a home to her than Gran Pulse ever would be. Even if her family was on Pulse, her heart would be here.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed deeper over his aqua eyes, which were on the pale blue he loved. Why not? he wondered silently. Why wasn't Lightning going with her family?

Light shook her head softly, smiling weakly. And a bit sadly. "There's nothing left for me there, Riku," she said softly. Cocoon was demolished, and Gran Pulse just wasn't a home to her. Destiny Islands was, though. Especially since her brother, boyfriend, and other friends were here.
"...What about your family?" Riku asked softly. Light was just going to be separated from them, after all he remembered her telling him in the future? After all the sorrow she experienced because she wasn't with them?

Again, Lightning shook her head softly, her smile fading away. "I can go visit whenever I want," she stated quietly. "They understand that I have a life here." Gran Pulse, to her, was the opposite of life. It was death. She knew the world had potential for her family, but not for her.
Riku looked at Lightning for a moment, taking in what she said. A life here... "No," he said, shaking his head as he looked out at the water. "Absolutely not." She wasn't going to leave her family, not after what he did to her just recently. She needed them.

Light looked back out at the ocean, not surprised by Riku's disapproval. "It's a little late for that," she stated quietly. "My decision's already been made." She was going to stay here. She just had to scrounge up enough money to get her own apartment and support herself. She could do it.
Riku sighed, not knowing what to say to that. Arguing would be pointless; Lightning would just keep repeating herself. His fears of her ending things were out the door, but now he was worried about how she would be without Serah and Snow, and the others.

"I've been saying for a while that I wanted to be here with you," Lightning said quietly after Riku's sigh. "Now it's time to do just that." She considered giving up the Corps for Riku, and now she didn't have a choice. Besides, she didn't want to be a part of a corrupt government army again.
Riku closed his eyes, taking in a breath at the words. He loved hearing them, but... "What if you're making a mistake?" he asked softly. What if Lightning realized she didn't want this later on?
  • Author
Light shrugged faintly. "Then I make a mistake. It happens." But this wasn't a mistake. She wouldn't have come to Riku if she wasn't completely secure in her decision. She could change her mind later if she really, really needed to. But she wouldn't have to.
"Lightning," Riku said sternly. "Don't treat this so lightly. This is your life. Don't waste it here if you're not sure this is what you want." He was flattered that she wanted to stay, but he wasn't the only reason. Ven was a big factor, he was sure.
  • Author
"This is what I want," Lightning said, voice also stern. She made that pretty clear already, even if she just answered a question about this being a mistake. If she had refused to answer it the first time, Riku would have kept pestering her until she did. She just skipped the bickering and responded, and now he seemed to think she wasn't sure with her decision.
"How do you know?" Riku asked, his eyes resting on the person he loved. "You were miserable without your family a week ago..." And now she was just letting them go? It didn't make any sense.
  • Author
"I was," Lightning agreed with a nod, staring at the ocean. "Because they were dead, Riku. I could never see them then. But even if they go to Pulse and I'm still here, I'll be comfortable knowing that their living their lives the way they want. I can't keep suffocating them." She had to let go.
Riku didn't know what to say against that answer, so he only stared at Lightning. She...really had thought this out, hadn't she? She was really going to stay...on the Islands?
