Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning only hmphed softly, though a small smile tugged at her lips when Riku kissed her head. Despite how she had just seen him that morning, she had missed him today. She was getting used to seeing him all the time because of the vacation, but that vacation was quickly coming to an end. Today was already lost for her, but everyone else was still enjoying the mountains. She'd go back and join them for their last few days there; then it was back to reality for all of them.
Riku looked down at the little girl sleeping in Lightning's lap, smile softening. She was innocent, he realized, much like Serah. "...How's your sister doing?" he asked, glancing up at Lightning then. He hadn't heard Lightning talk about her for a while now.

"You mean Serah?" Lightning asked, blinking at the question that came out naturally. But of course Riku was asking about Serah; what other sister would he be referring to? He didn't know about...No, he couldn't have. There was nobody in the group that knew, not even Ventus. Nobody needed to know.
"Nope, I'm pretty sure I'm talking about your other sister," Riku replied with a look, his remark sarcastic. Of course he was talking about Serah. She was the only sister Lightning had.

Light felt startled at Riku's comment, not seeing his sarcastic expression nor hearing it in his tone. He...knew about her other sister? How was that even possible? Before she could help herself, she asked him exactly what she was thinking. "How did you know about her?" she asked softly, keeping her eyes on the girl asleep in her lap. Light hadn't told anyone, but maybe Serah did.
Riku's expression vanished immediately, curiosity taking its place. "...What?" he asked softly. What was Lightning talking about. She...had another sister? Really?

Lightning felt confused at Riku's response, since it wasn't an answer to her question. So she looked over at his expression and saw that he was as confused as she was. What just happened? she thought to herself. Did he not know about her other sister? It was then she picked up on the sarcasm he used a minute ago. Oh crap.
"Lightning..." Riku started, his eyebrows furrowing. "Who're you talking about?" If she really had another sister, why didn't she say anything? Was it a touchy subject?

"I was, uh, just messing with you," Lightning said as she lightly elbowed Riku without disturbing the girl in her lap. She was lying, but she didn't know what else to say or do. She didn't talk about her other sister to anyone; she didn't think she even said her name to anyone since she passed. And it was years ago that she died; nearly ten.
Riku lifted his hand closest to Lightning, lightly gripping the elbow she carefully jabbed him with. "Light..." he said, his expression the same. What are you hiding? he thought silently. There was something he didn't know...

Lightning looked up and saw Riku's serious expression, so hers softened. She exhaled a soft breath and looked ahead of her, knowing that she couldn't work her way out of this one. And she didn't really want to despite the topic; she was sick of hiding things from Riku. "Alright," she said quietly. "I had another sister, but she passed a long time ago."
Riku lightly squeezed the arm he held, the news disturbing. Lightning lost her parents...and a sibling? His heart hurt for her instantly, the young man only able to gaze at the side of her face in silence.

"I was thirteen when it happened, and she was three. It was a long time ago." Lightning was stating the obvious now, but there wasn't too much more to say. Lightning took care of her sister a lot of the time because her mother was still coping with the loss of their father. Light was the strength of the family for a very, very long time. She had to be.
Riku lifted his hand from Lightning's elbow to her shoulder, squeezing it. "...I'm sorry," he whispered. He...couldn't imagine that kind of tragedy. He hadn't lost any family members, ever. That kind of experience was one he had yet to have.

Lightning nodded faintly at the sympathy, her gaze down on the girl who was still asleep. "It's fine," she said quietly. She coped with the deaths of her family and moved on. Or maybe that wasn't the correct term. She moved forward now. She was still alive for a reason, so she would live her life to the fullest. That was the decision she made.
Riku ran his thumb over Lightning's shoulder in silence, not knowing what else to do. How many tragedies did she overcome in her lifetime? Too many, that was the answer. He thought his past was ugly too. They both had rough lives...until now.

Lightning lifted one of her hands and set it on Riku's, her eyes staying down. I don't need your sympathy, she thought. She could live without the sympathy and pity of others; what good could it possibly serve? She survived without it because nobody could understand. She lost two sets of parents, her brother was kidnapped, and her sister died. And recently she lost friends from the Guardian Corps. but she survived. She always did.
"...Take care of her," Riku began, looking to the little girl, "and then we'll talk. Okay?" This was something they obviously needed to talk about, or at least what Lightning needed to talk about. He could tell this bothered her, even if she didn't want to admit it.

Nothing to take care of, Lightning thought to herself. The girl could stay sleeping on her lap for all she cared. But instead, she nodded faintly and moved her arms carefully as she picked up the sleeping girl. She was out like a light, so Lightning had no problem rising to her feet and carrying her over to a crib so she could sleep without being disturbed.
Riku gazed at Lightning in silence, keeping his position on the couch in the daycare center. He noticed she was awfully quiet, both because of the sleeping child and the subject. He didn't blame her; he didn't know what to say either.
  • Author
It only took Light a minute to tuck in the sleeping child, so right after that was done, she returned to the couch. She sat down right beside Riku, glancing up at him briefly before she glanced down at her hands in her lap. He wanted to talk, obviously. He was the one who suggested that they did in the first place.
Riku lifted his hand closest to Lightning's, setting it on hers that were in her lap. "...What was her name?" he asked gently. If he noticed Lightning get too emotional, he would stop with the questions and just be there for her. He was her wall; he would never let someone hurt her, for they had to get past him. And he would never let her fall. He was her support.

"Averia," Lightning responded quietly without looking up at Riku's face. Her name was Averia. It was a name that her mother picked out, since she loved flowers so much. Maybe that was why Lightning liked Roses so much. Her sister had the trade-mark Farron hair, which was naturally pink. But she looked just like her father in her facial expression and mannerisms.
Riku smiled the slighest bit. "That's beautiful," he said, his soft side coming out for once. It really was a pretty name, he couldn't doubt that. And he would express that much, since this was Light's sister they were talking about.
  • Author
"She was beautiful, too," Lightning said softly while a faint smile tugged at her lips. "She looked more like my dad than anything else, but she had the same hair as the rest of us." Pink, slightly curly, unruly a lot of the time...She was definitely a Farron. She was sweet and sincere and innocent, much like Serah. Much like her mother was before the hard times came.
