Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Ven blinked, looking up in surprise when Master Eraqus was rude to Lightning. "Master..." he protested weakly, shaking his head. He couldn't just stand here and let him treat his sister in that way. She did at least know Xehanort. She didn't know the others, no...but that didn't mean her advice could be discarded. She was a soldier; she knew how others thought. At least she was throwing out ideas, unlike everyone else in the room.

Eraqus glanced over at Ventus but continued on. "Running into battle will only result in death on our side," he said, striking down Lightning's idea. "We have to come up with a strategy instead of running in on blind rage. Xehanort and his remnants and Vanitas will only laugh at our technique." He could picture it in his mind, an image that made him close his eyes briefly.

"So you want us to focus on who we know best," Aqua assumed. At Eraqus's nod, she looked to the others. She, Ventus, Terra, and Master Eraqus would focus on Xehanort then, while Ven would also have to think about Vanitas. Roxas and Sora would worry about Xemnas, and that left Riku (with Lightning, of course) to stress over Ansem.

Okay then, Lightning thought, not accepting Eraqus's idea but not arguing. Not in front of Ven. If you're focusing on your enemies that you apparently know so much better than I do, then I'm not needed here. She started out of the room, figuring that it was time that she checked on Riku anyway. That was where she would be most helpful.
Roxas watched Lightning go while Eraqus continued discussing his idea and theories. From past experience, he knew waiting wasn't a good thing; he was always running into battle out of pure rage. That, he was fine with. But Eraqus clearly wasn't.

I could always do what I want, Light thought as she headed down the hall to where she believed Riku would be. Riku knows sitting around won't do us any good. And Roxas too. She would think about asking him about it, but first, she had to make sure that he was okay. She was actually considering asking him to go to Disney Castle for a little while; maybe the Light there would comfort him.
Riku stood just outside the castle, the large door wide open since he didn't bother to shut it. His back was to the building as he looked at the scenery around him, though he couldn't really see it; his blindfold hid most of it from view. He donned it due to fear of others seeing the Darkness that threatened his being again, since his eyes couldn't lie about his soul's state. He especially didn't want Lightning to see it...or Sora. He couldn't face them with it.

Light noticed that the front doors of the castle were opened, and at first she was concerned that somebody else entered the castle while they were all distracted. She neared the door and then was able to see the person standing right outside. Her figure relaxed when she realized no enemy was near them and they were safe for a moment. And, of course she was glad to see Riku didn't run off. She approached him, figuring that he sensed her presence by now.
Riku tensed slightly, sensing that the person he loved was behind him. He lowered his head, his hands in his pockets. He didn't say anything, figuring there was no point. She already knew what was wrong with him.

Light stopped behind Riku, looking up at him from her spot. She didn't notice the straps from the blindfold that was wrapped around his eyes, but she did notice that he still wasn't in good shape. She lifted a hand and set it on his back wordlessly, her pale blue eyes landing on that. I'm sorry I can't help you bear this.
Riku's tense form remained in that state when he felt Light's touch. He took in a deep breath, feeling the light breeze move his hair. "...Didn't want to stick around for the deliberation?" he asked softly, not wanting to bring up his problems. He knew Light wasn't one to walk away from a discussion, especially about strategy.

Lighting shook her head faintly, her hand curling around the fabric of Riku's shirt. "Some people there didn't value my opinion," she said lowly. And she left it at that. Roxas was the only one who verbally agreed with her plan; the rest didn't say anything. Well, Aqua did, and she sided with Master Eraqus. Whatever. It didn't matter. She gave the advice that she felt was best for the group, and if they didn't follow it, it was their problem. She'd fight either way to get rid of Xehanort.
"Mm," Riku said with a small nod. "Bad choice on their part." He knew Lightning well, as well as her ability to strategize. She was a soldier, and a good one at that. Anyone who doubted her opinion was wrong, even if she wasn't right in the end.

Lightning hummed quietly, taking a small step forward and resting her forehead against Riku. She feared that he was right. But forcing herself on others would only cause more tension, and they didn't need that right now. She wrapped both her arms around Riku as she stood behind him, hesitating with asking him how he was doing.
Riku lifted his head to look out at the scenery, able to see despite the blindfold shielding his eyes from view. This warmth that Light brought him, even her touch... It would disappear when the Darkness became too much. He could sense Ansem pulling at his heart at that moment, something he didn't want to admit and never would.

"How are you?" Light asked after a moment, her position remaining the same as a small wind blew. She knew that Riku wasn't doing well, but she had to be careful not to be too bold. Her boldness got her in trouble sometimes, and she didn't want to hurt Riku worse than he was already hurting. She wanted to help if she could.
Riku smiled bitterly, shaking his head. "...Look at me, Light," he told her softly. "I'm not myself anymore." Why Ansem had such a strong hold on him, he would never figure out, especially after all the trouble he went through fighting the Darkness. The blindfold was a perfect example of that.

Light shook her head faintly, taking her head off Riku's back but keeping her arms around him. "You still feel like Riku to me," she said softly. He was in her arms. He was strong physically even if he felt weak in his heart right now. He was still the one that she loved, and the one that she would love forever. Nothing would change that.
I won't be that person for long, Riku thought, deciding not to say it on purpose. If Lightning heard him talk like that, he would never hear the end of it. He appreciated her concern, but he knew that she was only wasting her time. Ansem would win...just like he did in the beginning.

Upon getting no response, Light released Riku and took a step to the side. That was when she saw the blindfold. She was only half-surprised that he was wearing it; he did pick it up back at Destiny Islands. She took another step over and gazed at Riku with soft eyes as her hand found his cheek. "Hey..." she said softly. It's okay.
Riku felt the fingers against his cheek, but he didn't say anything. He only shook his head slightly. There would be no end to this; he was consumed by the Darkness, fought it off, and now it was coming back to haunt him. It would be an endless cycle until his life was over.

Light kept her hand on Riku's cheek despite his movement. "He's not going to get to you," she said softly to him as her thumb stroked his cheek. "I won't let him." She would take care of Ansem from this point on. All that Riku had to do was trust her. She was used to fighting and used to facing the battles that nobody else could face. This was one she'd be glad to face for Riku's sake.
Riku lifted a hand to sit on Light's wrist near his face, gazing at her from behind his blindfold. "I wish it were that simple," he admitted. But it wasn't. Ansem would be merciless this time, and Riku had a feeling he wouldn't be strong enough.

"I'll do all I can," Lightning said softly, ignoring Riku's words that implied he didn't believe she could help. "I won't let him win." Riku was the most important person in her life; he had the most prominent influence. Even more than Serah and Ven. She wasn't about to lose him to his own fears or to Xehanort's remnant. He was hers.
Riku leaned forward then, kissing Lightning gently on the forehead. He held that position for a moment before pulling back, his hand remaining on her wrist. "...Just focus on keeping yourself alive," he told her gently. If Ansem took him...it would be better than seeing Lightning fall to him for Riku. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if that happened.

Light shook her head softly. "You first," she said quietly. She would focus on keeping him alive before herself. But she knew that her dying wouldn't be doing Riku any favors, so that was why she planned on fighting hard enough for the two of them. If she lost him, she'd lose herself. It was that simple.
