Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku had been witnessing the battle in secret for quite some time, but he now realized he needed to step in. Upon hearing Orphan's roar, he used his Dark ability to teleport, appearing right behind Lightning and right in front of Orphan. He put up a shield at the last moment, grunting at the power behind Orphan's attack. But it wouldn't be one he inflicted on Lightning, nor Riku. It was his own pain he would feel.

Lightning spun around at the cry and braced herself for it, but the attack never landed. She looked at the figure who got in the way of the attack, her eyes wide once she realized who saved her from a world of pain. "Riku!" She heard Orphan grunt in shock and take a step back, shocked that his attack didn't land. Riku was here!
Riku turned his head, his blindfold concealing his eyes. Regardless, his expression was clear as day: fear. "Lightning," he breathed. He wanted to say so many things to her at that moment, to apologize and plead for forgiveness. But this was hardly the time or place; both of them were in danger. Besides, Orphan needed to die. Now.

Light saw Riku's fearful expression, and that reminded her of the situation. And allowed her to sense an incoming threat. She saw a gust of wind coming in their direction, and she shoved Riku out of the way. She couldn't even stand against Orphan's strong wind, which sent her flying back into a tree. She crashed into it roughly, falling down to her stomach. Ouch.
Riku landed roughly on his side, and he pushed himself up, looking in his beloved's direction in horror. "Lightning!" he cried in fear, though he then looked to Orphan. Fine. You're mine to deal with now. Orphan knew the power he had within, and he was a fool for messing with it. Riku would take down Orphan himself and save his love's life.

"Pathetic, Claire!" Orphan boomed, walking towards the soldier who was slowly rising to her feet. "Is that the best that you can do? Even when your life is on the line, you are incapable of doing what is necessary. Perish!" He opened his hand and shot a lightning bolt at her, which she managed to dodge. I'm sick of your games! Your time is up, so just quit fighting! Lose hope!
Riku summoned his Keyblade to him, though it still held the form of Soul Eater. He was sick of the games Orphan was playing against Lightning, ones that were life-threatening to the point where he could possibly lose her. Orphan was so focused on Lightning that Riku could easily end him now, and that was exactly what he did. He grunted, teleporting to be right behind Orphan before stabbing Soul Eater right through his back. It was time he left Lightning alone.

Lightning lifted her gaze from the ground, on one knee from dodging Orphan's attack. She looked at the child now, who was clearly dumbfounded and shocked because of Riku's weapon through his chest. He looked down at it in shock, and he seemingly had no strength to pull it out or cure himself. He was dying, but not dead yet. Light winced, lifting a hand to her heart at the painful pounding as she lowered her head. The curse was near the very end of its time; it could still work if Orphan didn't die soon. Riku...
Riku gritted his teeth and jerked his Keyblade up inside Orphan's body, knowing that Lightning only had minutes left. On top of the small tug, he released a powerful surge of Dark Aura through the hilt of his Keyblade, and it traveled along his sword and to the teeth, meant to hurt Orphan more. "It's time you take your leave," Riku hissed. "Permanently."

Orphan screamed in pain, the very Darkness he loved destroying him from the inside out because of Riku's attack. He faded into Oblivion, his life truly over now that this form was defeated. Never again would he be able to wreak havoc on Lightning or her family. He passed without accomplishing his one goal in this life.

Light felt the tugging on her heart stop, a refreshing wave washing over her as the curse was removed. She didn't even have to see her arm to know that the curse was permanently removed. Her shoulders slumped in relief, her hand falling from her heart as her head remained lowered. It was over.

Riku's attack ceased, and he felt the power within him drained from his core; he used all his strength in putting an end to Orphan as quickly as possible. His legs shook before he dropped to one knee, Soul Eater pierced into the ground beside him as he gripped it. His goal since starting the fight with the demon within him was to save Lightning, and now he did. Now he could rest easy, in Darkness.

Lightning looked up, tired eyes widening when she saw Riku's position. And how Unversed were about to leap at him. She pushed herself up and ran over to him as quickly as she could, skidding next to him and falling to her knees as she wrapped her arms around him protectively. She cast a shield around the both of them, deflecting the Unversed just as they leaped at them. She grunted at the force of the attack, but focused on maintaining the shield. She couldn't let them hurt Riku.
Riku almost lost himself to his emotions when he felt Lightning's hold around him, and he heard the various screeches from the Unversed as she protected him. How could she, after all he'd done? Saving her was no redemption; he wouldn't make it that easy. He had to find himself before anything else, and where he truly belonged. Then he could pay the price for his decisions and ask for forgiveness.

Lightning opened her eyes, seeing Riku's face even if she was holding him from the side. But she saw the Unversed swarming around them, and that was when she realized that they wanted her, not him. Vanitas sent them after her. She released him slowly, pushing herself to her feet as she maintained the shield. "I'm sorry," she said softly. The moment that the shield faded away, Odin was there. The knight wrapped one arm around Riku's waist before he jumped for higher ground, taking him away from the enemies and leaving Lightning surrounded. I won't lose you again, Riku.
Riku grunted when he was picked up, and he could see that he was being taken to higher ground, away from the fight. No! he thought, reaching a hand out to the one he loved, but it was no use. He was already too far away.

Lightning turned her head when the Unversed vanished, and that was when she saw that she had a new opponent: Ansem. He looked infuriated, probably because Riku was back to his normal self. And Lightning obviously helped that happen; she was the only person who could snap Riku out of his state. She got into her stance, ignoring her battle wounds as she glared at the man who stopped a few feet in front of her.

Xehanort dodged one of Master Eraqus's attacks, seeing that Riku had returned to his senses and Orphan was defeated. "Enough!" he cried. "Retreat!" He vanished from the scene, disappointed that it had come down to this. Yet again, they would have to alter their strategy.

Vanitas tsked in disgust before running through a portal he summoned nearby, leaving the scene. Had he stayed around a little longer, he would have witnessed Xemnas allow himself to be swallowed into a portal of his own. They were losing, and it wasn't going to end that way.

Ansem remained and glared at the soldier, seeing Odin and Riku now standing on the same level as the rest of them since the villains fled. He hmphed and vanished into his portal, giving Lightning a dirty look. Another day, then. She would be his as well, since she stood in his way.
Riku pushed at Odin's iron hands, wrestling to get out of his hold. He managed it after a moment, dropping to the ground with a grunt. He landed on his side, slowly pushing himself up, still weak. Why did Lightning do that? She had more of a life to live than he did, and she was giving hers up?!

Lightning put away her weapon and ran over to Riku immediately, bending down and wrapping her arms around him to keep him from falling back down onto his side. "Easy," she said softly, that being the only word that she could think to say. She lifted her gaze, seeing Ven starting over to check up on them. They were okay for the most part, as far as she knew.
Riku kept one hand on the ground while Lightning's arms surrounded him, lifting his head to see her up close for the first time. "...Light," he said, breathless. He did so many awful things to her--laughed at her terrible past, hit her, told her to lose faith... He didn't know how she could stand the sight of him. He sure couldn't, which was why he wore his blindfold.

Lightning looked down and saw Riku's blindfold on, a reminder of the fact that he fought his way through the Darkness of the Guardian to return to her. "Welcome back," she whispered, continuing to hold onto him. She was glad to see him acting like himself again, and not pushing her away. It was great to have him back.
"Mm," Riku hummed, lowering his head slightly. He wasn't back entirely, since he still had a lot of inner battles to face. The demon wasn't gone completely, nor was his Darkness. The latter never would be; it was a part of him.

"We should go," Ven said, observing Lightning and Riku from a few feet away. They should return home and finally rest up now that they had a victory won. It was won in more ways than one; they didn't lose anybody--they actually regained an ally. And one of their enemies was finally killed. Maybe things would start looking up now.
Aqua nodded in agreement, observing the scene from a distance. She hit the button to her armor on her sleeve, being engulfed by light before she wore her armor. It was time to return to the castle, where hopefully things took a turn for the better.
