Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku could only look at her from behind the thin fabric of his blindfold, flattered to say the least. She was with him, protecting him even in her sleep, after all he had done to her. She was so devoted to him that he thought he didn't deserve it; no, he knew he didn't deserve it. He was too selfish, too ungrateful and dark for it. But here she was, the person he loved sitting by his side when all hope was nearly lost. "...Claire," he whispered softly, moving so he was still leaning against one arm, the other coming around to wrap over Lightning's chest and neck, his head pressing lightly against hers as he closed his eyes. He was lucky, to have someone like her.

Lightning felt the arm wrap around her, and though she was startled at first, she quickly realized that it wasn't going to wrap around her neck. The person holding her wasn't intending to harm her in any way. And the only person who would hold her this close would be the man that she loved. She forced herself to come out of her light slumber, wanting to be with him after being apart for so long.
Riku released a soft breath through his nose, gently squeezing the person on the floor beside his bed. He would let her sleep, but he needed to at least show gratitude this way. He owed her his life; she saved him from a Darkness that nearly swallowed him completely.

Lightning lifted one of her hands, setting it on Riku's arm across her chest as she kept her eyes shut. He was so warm, so gentle...He was definitely her Riku. And this definitely wasn't a dream. She couldn't believe that he came back on his own, just like that. He was himself again; she couldn't have been more proud of him for the strength he had to fight his Darkness.
Riku kept his eyes closed, his arm remaining around Lightning, though he did stiffen at her touch. "...Sorry," he mumbled quietly. "I didn't mean to wake you." He just wanted to show her some gratitude for how she believed in him when he didn't, even after he told her to lose her faith. That was wrong of him.

Light's lips turned up in a faint smile before it went away. "That's alright," she murmured. She didn't mind being woken up to this, though this wasn't nearly good enough for her. She wanted Riku to be closer, and she wanted to hold him in return. She had missed him, and been scared for him, even if she didn't show that fear to the others. She was too busy being strong.
Riku kept his position, aware that Lightning didn't seem to want to move either. "...I missed you, y'know," he declared softly. He missed being like this when he was in Darkness. He was all alone, and at the time he didn't care, too hungry for power. But now that he thought back to how lonely he truly was, it scared him. Riku used to call himself a loner all the time, but after Lightning came along, he never wanted to be alone again.

"I missed you too," Light responded softly. She was glad that he was back with her now, and in his right mind. Speaking of which. "I'm really proud of you," she said quietly, squeezing his arm. It took a lot of strength for him to regain himself like this. Obviously he still had problems, since he was wearing the blindfold, but that was okay. He was here, and she knew he wouldn't give in again.
Riku smiled the slightest bit at the words, accepting the praise. "I wouldn't have been able to do it without you," he admitted gently, turning his face into her hair a little more. He missed the way it felt against his skin, and he missed her touch. He missed a lot of things lately. While the Darkness may have granted him more power, it was a cold place that he didn't like. His Darkness was the only Darkness he wanted to claim, and that was it.

Light hummed softly, a small smile tugging at her lips. She was about to ask how she got through to him, but then she realized that it didn't really matter. All that mattered was that he was here with her now, and that he was staying here. She wanted him closer, though. Much closer. They had been apart for far too long.
Riku ran his fingertips over the skin of Lightning's upper arm for a small moment, keeping her under his arm. The last time he touched her while in Darkness, he'd hit her. Just the reminder made him grind his teeth together in anger. How could he have done something so stupid? He swore to never hit Lightning, and he backhanded her mercilessly. I'm sorry...

"This isn't really good enough for me," Lightning declared softly, though Riku's actions were sweet. In other words, she wanted to be closer. She wanted to hold onto him and lean her head against his shoulder, while holding his head in her hand and promising to make all the Darkness go away. The last part was something she couldn't do, but she could still hold him for a while.
Riku couldn't help but smile, the words chasing his anger away. He pulled away slightly, his face turned towards Lightning as he looked at her in the darkness. "What do you suggest?" he asked softly. Whatever she wanted, she would get. He'd been away too long to say no.

Light looked over at Riku, seeing the blindfold instead of the aqua eyes she loved. That was alright. Having her Riku with her now was good enough for her to excuse the blindfold. "Anything," she said softly. Anything as long as I get to hold onto you for a little while. She missed him...so much. How did she survive being such a loner before Riku? She couldn't imagine life without him now.
Riku smiled a little more at the one-word answer, and he released Lightning to swing his legs around, dropping onto the floor beside her. One knee bent and the other leg out in front of him, he turned his head to look at her through the fabric over his eyes. He imagined he was close, but for Lightning it may not have been close enough.

Light breathed a soft breath that almost sounded like a chuckle. She leaned over and wrapped her arms around Riku tightly, shutting her eyes as she did. She didn't care if this was random; she had missed him a lot. All that she wanted to do was cling to him for a little while and not worry about the fight that they still had before them.
Riku lifted a hand, placing it on the back of Lightning's pink hair as he took in her presence. While in Darkness, he'd heard the others' plans, especially Orphan's. He'd heard what the man planned to do to Lightning, and all he did was allow it to happen. If only I'd had more control, he thought, the side of his face pressed against Lightning's hair. Maybe then he could have stopped so many bad things from happening to her. Of course, really thinking about it, he realized he had been in too deep to climb out that easily. His fall was fate.

Light wrapped her arms around Riku more tightly as she buried her face in his shoulder, as if her original embrace wasn't tight enough. I'm sorry, she thought, referring to the embrace. I just missed you so much. She was strong and calculated while Riku was gone, and almost always calculated and composed when she ran into him before. But looking back on it all now, she was really hurting without him by her side. She never wanted to experience that again.
"Hm," Riku hummed with a small smile, feeling Light's hold on him tighten. He missed this, that was for sure. He never wanted to go a day without it again, unless there was no choice. He had a choice with the Darkness, and he had chosen to be scared and weak, so it took control of him. It wouldn't happen again. He had a reason to be in the Light, and that was because now he had one: Claire.

Lightning felt moisture gathering behind her closed eyes. No, I won't cry, she thought, eyebrows furrowing. She wouldn't cry here; she had no reason to. Riku was back, and he wasn't going to go away again. Next time Ansem's Guardian took a swipe at her, she would be the one to take the blow, not Riku. She wouldn't lose him again, to anyone.
Riku turned his head, nuzzling his face into Lightning's soft hair as he held her. She had nothing to worry about anymore; he wasn't going anywhere. He was going to stay where he belonged now, and that was with her. Maybe a part of him did accept the Darkness, but that part of him was stronger now, and knew which Darkness to accept--and it wasn't anyone's but his own.

Light slowly loosened her grip on Riku, calming herself. She figured that she was just tired, and that her emotions were getting the better of her because of that. She slept one hour during the two days that she was searching for Orphan. She was exhausted because of that, but she didn't want to get deep sleep in case Riku wasn't strong enough to hold his own. She could survive on the light sleep that she just got.
Riku pulled back slightly, his hand cupping the back of Lightning's head as he gazed at her from behind his blindfold. "You okay?" he mumbled gently, not wanting to ruin the peace that surrounded them. But she seemed tense. He knew most of it was because of him, unfortunately.

Lightning hummed, though she started pulling away from the embrace. One of her hands found the hilt of her weapon. She was fine, but there was something else that she sensed in the air other than the peacefulness of a silent night. She looked at Riku, though she wasn't really taking in the image. She was trying to figure out where the threat was.
Riku removed his hand as Lightning stared at him, but he could see her eyes were unfocused, as if she weren't really looking at him. "...Light?" he asked softly, the true question in his voice. What was wrong?
