Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku broke into a run instantly, sprinting past houses that were recently built as he tried to track down the source of the ugly stench. Ansem was here, and the only reason for that could be because Lightning was here. He found out that we escaped the Darkness...and now he's going for her when she's alone, Riku assumed, fearful of his beloved's safety. He rounded a corner and skidded to a stop, seeing the perpetrator. "Ansem!" he cried, but then he noticed the Guardian disappearing...into Lightning. "No!"

Ansem looked over at Riku when he arrived, a "hmph" leaving his lips as the Guardian finished sinking into Lightning. The task was done. He had no idea how powerful a grip the Guardian would have on Lightning since she did not have a heart filled with the Darkness like Riku did, but he was sure he would have a grip nonetheless. He looked over at the girl and saw that she was teeming with Darkness, not moving as she was propped up with one arm as she was on the ground.
Riku's aqua eyes were wide with terror, his gaze locked onto the love of his life. "Lightning," he said breathlessly. No... This wasn't happening, not to her. Riku gave Ansem little attention, merely glancing over at him before sprinting toward Lightning's position. He slid onto his knees next to her, putting his hand on her shoulder. "Light...?"

Lightning didn't respond to Riku, her eyes shut and head lowered a little bit. She didn't sense Ansem leave the area, since the Guardian was her main concern. He was in her, physically controlling her...and he was grasping control of her heart as well. The Darkness was starting to cloud her understanding of what was good and what wasn't. All that she knew was that she was sinking deeper and deeper into Darkness.
"Lightning, look at me," Riku said, voice full of worry and fear. The Guardian couldn't seize control of her! She had to snap out of it, and quickly! If she didn't, she would succumb to the Darkness, just like he did. No... I won't let that happen. She has to come back to me. I won't lose her!

Lightning opened her eyes, and though they weren't golden yet, her pale blue eyes were blank. She briefly recognized the face of the person in front of her, as well as something being in his voice that normally wasn't there. But why was he so concerned? Lightning felt the pain of what happened recently, with Fang, Vanille, and all the other ghosts she saw in the Realm of Darkness, fade away. It felt nice...
Riku lifted his hands to rest on Lightning's face, cupping her cheeks while his fingers found her hair. "Snap out of it, baby. C'mon," he said, able to tell that she was losing her conscience. He leaned a little closer, his voice shaking with urgency and concern. "Don't let it take you. The Darkness isn't you."

Light grunted at Riku's close contact, not the words that he spoke. She...didn't like him being so close. She furrowed her eyebrows as she lifted the hand that wasn't propping her up, that hand removing one of Riku's from her face. He may have said that she wasn't the Darkness, and he was right. She wasn't the Darkness...yet.
Riku let Lightning grab his hand, but he held onto the one in his. "Don't fall for the lies it's feeding you," he told her, speaking of the Darkness. If she let the Guardian's tricks convince her, he would lose her. He didn't want that to happen, nor would he let it.

"It's not feeding me lies," Lightning finally said, her voice low as she kept her eyes shut. It's making me numb. That's exactly what I want right now. I'd rather have that than grief... She didn't tear her hand out of Riku's, though the Darkness was telling her to get as far away from him as possible. The Guardian knew that Riku could be the one to snap her out of this.
"It's making you feel better," Riku rephrased, "but it's not the way things are supposed to be. You know this isn't right. Look past what the Darkness is feeding you and realize it!" He wasn't sure what he would do if she actually left him for the Darkness. Maybe then he would leave the Light too, just so they could be together...

Lightning pushed herself up so she was sitting without the support of her arms, and that was when she lifted her free hand and removed Riku's other from her face. She also ripped her hand out of his, and when she opened her eyes, there was a small sign of her struggling within their blue depths. But then it faded away so the blank look returned once more.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at the person before him. "I'm not losing you to this," he declared lowly, frustrated. "This is all my fault...and you shouldn't suffer because of it." He looked into the blank blue eyes he'd come to love, sad and fearful. "...I'm sorry, Claire."

Claire's eyes grew in size briefly before she shut them again, eyebrows furrowed. "Stop," she said lowly, voice strained. It wasn't her telling him to stop; it was the Guardian. That name, "Claire", it brought Lightning a little closer to the surface than she had been before. She had to think, why was that name significant to her? She hadn't used it in years...
Riku shook his head. "No, I won't stop," he told the woman before him. He noticed the slightest change in her when he used her birth name. Was that the trick to this whole thing? Was that how he got her back?

Lightning's eyebrows remained furrowed, her hands clenched in fists in her lap. She was still teeming with Darkness, the Darkness of Ansem's Guardian. She didn't have enough Darkness in her heart for him to manipulate, so he was messing with the next best thing: grief. It was tucked away in her, not released for anyone to see. That meant that it had been growing insider her ever since the Realm of Darkness, so there was plenty to manipulate.
Riku's narrowed eyes rested on the person he loved, wavering with fear and concern. "Claire," he said again, voice low yet soft. "Stay with me. I'll help you... If I can overcome this, so can you. I can help you fight whatever it is that the Darkness is feeding off of. Just..." He shook his head, placing a hand on her shoulder and squeezing it. "Just don't let me lose you."

Lightning didn't move, her jaw locked as she gritted her teeth. The name got through to her briefly, but the Guardian wasn't giving up. He wasn't letting go of the grief that he had a hold of. "Get...off..." she said through her teeth, though a bit of moisture dropped from one of her shut eyes. The Guardian wasn't the only one who wanted him off; she did too. She thought it was possible for the Guardian to possess him again, but fortunately for them, it wasn't.
You want me to let go? Riku wondered, eyebrows coming together more. He kept his hand on Lightning's shoulder for one more moment before releasing her slowly. He would let her go physically, right now, but not emotionally or mentally. Lightning was staying with him, forever.

Light shook her head faintly, lifting it after a moment to look at Riku. Her eyes briefly shone gold before they went back to their normal blue, though they still weren't windows into her soul. The Guardian was promising her that she could not ever feel grieved about lost loved ones again. She wouldn't feel sorrow about any of the four parents she came to love, or Averia, or Fang or Vanille. She could forget all types of pain and feel nothing. It sounded appealing right now.
Riku gazed at Lightning in silence, shaking his head slightly as his lips parted so he could speak. But not a word left him. I love you, he thought silently. I can only hope that's enough. If she wasn't going to stay with him, he didn't know what he would do. Light was a vital part to his life, more important than almost anyone. What could he do with himself if she left?

But...A life without feeling would be a life without...Riku, Lightning thought. She would grieve over the loss of him if she didn't have him in her life, or if she did and she couldn't feel anything. That wasn't a life she wanted to live. On that impulse, she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around Riku. She needed him to get through this...
Riku wrapped his arms around Lightning in return, cupping the back of her head with one hand, his fingers in her hair. "You can fight this," he said, turning his face toward her ear. "I know you can." She just had to concentrate on the things she loved in life, in the Light. "Focus on your friends, your family. Ven and Serah..." He then squeezed her gently, closing his eyes. "And me."

Light buried her head in Riku's shoulder, feeling his fingers in her hair. Riku... she wanted to say, but the Darkness was choking her. The sound of his voice, just being able to be in his presence and in his arms...It was enough of a reason for her to fight for control. But she wasn't free yet. She needed to hear him say more.
"Just breathe," Riku advised gently, his fingers curling into Light's jacket on her back. "Whatever the Darkness is saying, it's a lie. Believe me, Claire. You can trust me, and you won't ever have to question that judgment as long as you stay with me." She couldn't give in, no matter what. Her life depended on it, as did his.
