Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light gripped the back of Riku's shirt, her eyes moist because of the Guardian still trying to dig into her grief. And he was, but she was fighting back. She couldn't lose this. She would lose everything she fought so hard for in life, along with the first person she loved. She couldn't see it, but the Darkness was teeming from her more as she started chasing the Guardian away from her heart. My life is mine. You won't tell me how to grieve.
Riku pulled Lightning closer, if it was even possible, and held her more tightly. "...I love you," he whispered gently. So much. He wouldn't let the Darkness come between them. "Light" wasn't only her name; it was who she was to him. She was his Light, always.

Light suddenly felt the Guardian release her completely, making her gasp into Riku's shoulder. Her body relaxed immediately as the Guardian left her, the monster floating behind her now that he was expelled. He had no power over her. Not anymore. She took back control of this situation, and of her grief.
Riku opened his eyes when he heard the gasp, his sight settling on the Guardian. He released a low growl in hatred as he rose to his feet, bringing Lightning with him. He had a secure grip on her, and he wasn't about to release her. He wouldn't, not after that. Get out.

Light wasn't steady on her feet, so that was why she was glad her arms were so tight around Riku and his were tight around her as her face stayed against his shoulder. She wasn't aware of the Guardian behind her, though she was aware that Riku was very tense. For some reason, even if the Guardian couldn't lay its hands on her or Riku, he didn't leave. It was as if he was threatening them, though it was an empty threat.
Riku let the hand on Lightning's head move to summon Dark Aura, and he fired it at the Guardian without hesitation. He wasn't about to let the demon hurt his beloved again. Their time suffering through the Darkness was done, even if both of them still had things to settle out. The Darkness couldn't haunt them as badly as it did recently.

Light heard the brief cry of the Guardian, who slunk back a few feet at Riku's attack. Though it wasn't fatally wounded, the monster decided to fade away. It could no longer do damage here. Its power had been taken from him because of Riku bringing Light's consciousness back to the surface so that she could fight back. She was here because of him.
Riku watched the Guardian fade away, a heavy breath leaving his lips. He turned his head toward Lightning, his face in her hair slightly. "Oh, Claire," he sighed softly. He was so relieved she snapped out of it. If she had actually believed in the Darkness... He didn't even want to think about it.

Light felt her eyes getting moist again at the use of her name, the name of a girl who wasn't a soldier. That girl always had permission to cry and grieve whenever she needed to; she lost a lot of people in her life. ...And that was who she was right now. Tears leaked out of her eyes and into Riku's shoulder, the girl not caring about holding it in right now. Keeping it in was partially what caused this.
Riku lifted his hand back to Lightning's head, running his fingers through her hair. Having her in his arms was more than enough, but he would accept whatever she gave him. Right now, he could even feel her affection, and he was entirely grateful for it. He would need to get her home soon, or at least to Serah's. She needed to be with her family, whether that was Ven or her sister.

"Riku," Claire finally said, her voice muffled into his shoulder. She didn't know what to say to him. All that she knew was that she wasn't ready to let go of him. She just got a taste of what he went through with the Guardian, and it was...horrifying. He manipulated emotions so easily, dug into the deepest places that nobody was supposed to know about...He tore down her walls. All of them.
Riku gently kissed Lightning's head of pink hair, holding the position for a second before pulling back. He moved his arms, placing one around her back and the other underneath her legs when he bent down, picking her up with ease and gentleness. He held her close to his chest as he walked away from the scene, aware that he had to get her someplace comfortable.

"That's precious," Ansem said lowly, appearing in the path in front of Riku and Lightning, who had her face turned so it was hidden in Riku's shoulder. Clearly the Guardian did not accomplish his goal this time, which was a disappointment. That was why he was here now. He needed to find a way to make Lightning more vulnerable to the Darkness, because when he got to her, he got to Riku.
Riku stopped walking, blinking before glaring at the man before him. "Back off," he growled. "You won't be getting your way today." Ansem tried, but his time was up. Riku needed to get her somewhere safe and warm.
  • Author
"On the contrary," Ansem said, his eyes dancing over the couple as he saw Lightning peek over at him. "I have already gotten my way." At least, partially. He made Lightning vulnerable, through the use of the Guardian. Now he just had to dig deeper than the Guardian could.
Riku grunted slightly at the look in Ansem's gold eyes. It made him pull Lightning closer to him out of instinct, something that he realized was hard to do; he was holding her tight enough as soon as the man arrived. "...This is the last time you'll touch her," he hissed. Ansem wouldn't get to Lightning again, not with Riku in the way.
  • Author
Ansem laughed darkly, starting to walk towards the couple. "I have no need to touch her," he said. "I have already gotten a glimpse of her heart. I know what makes her tick. ...Claire." He looked at her as he said the name that the Guardian exposed, knowing just how much went with that name. The deaths of her parents, her younger sister too. And with her new name, Fang, Vanille, and many others. There was so much potential with Lightning if she would just give into grief again.
Riku backed up the number of steps Ansem took toward him and Lightning, and when he said the name, he instantly frowned. "Don't listen to him," he whispered to Lightning. He was only trying to trick her. She had to trust Riku, and Riku only.

"I know," Lightning whispered back, her arms still around Riku as she was in his arms. She knew who to trust, and it wasn't Ansem. But what he said next did make her cringe.

"I know a part of her heart better than you do now, Riku," Ansem said as he continued leading on both the people. "The things that you've ignored lately. You haven't forgotten what happened in the Realm of Darkness, have you?" he asked with an arched eyebrow. "Because Claire hasn't."

"Of course I haven't," Riku snapped, taking more steps back, holding Lightning tightly to his chest. She suffered there, the entire time. She was weak, vulnerable, sad, depressed, and guilty. It was awful... The fact that Ansem voiced he knew Lightning's heart better than he did pushed Riku to the edge, however; he instantly grew angry at the words. Ansem may have wormed his way into her heart, but Riku earned it.

"Fang, Vanille, Amador, Raines..." Ansem trailed off with the names, still walking forward and realizing Riku would back into something soon. "All these people that she's been grieving, yet you haven't comforted her once."

"Shut up," Lightning said lowly. That wasn't true! Riku was a comfort just by being with her, and not bringing it up. There were some things that she didn't want to talk about.

Riku was about to order what Lightning already did, but since she said it first, he kept his mouth shut. He instead ground his teeth together, jaw flexing with rage. That's not true! he wanted to holler, but he couldn't find his voice. Did he really neglect Lightning?

"I think not, Claire," Ansem said, his lips turning up in a half smile as he still approached. "You know as well as I do that you're grieved about the amount of death in your life. Didn't you tell Riku at one point that you were a curse? That everyone connected to you dies sooner than they are meant to? Well, you were right, Claire. You are a curse."
Riku heard his teeth grinding together within his mouth. "If that were true, I wouldn't be here," he snapped. If Lightning was really a curse, he would have been dead or he wouldn't have been around. But he was here, alive and in love with her, never leaving her side. To him, Lightning was a blessing.
  • Author
"Oh, don't worry, Riku," Ansem said, finally stopping walking as he just looked at the two. "There's still plenty of time for the curse to affect you." He noticed that his words were affecting Lightning, and that was what allowed his small smile to remain on his lips. He knew the fears of her heart, the sorrows that could sway her. She could still be a useful pawn in this game Master Xehanort was playing.
