Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Sora shut his eyes briefly at Kairi's words, not seeing the King nod to her. He was behind him anyway. Regardless, when Sora walked out of the room, he didn't bother shutting the door behind him since he knew Kairi was coming. He just didn't know if she was going to talk to him or not. If they did talk, he wouldn't know what to say. He was really disappointed in her and her attitude.
Kairi shut the door behind her, leaving Riku and the King to discuss whatever was left to discuss. She saw her fiance ahead of her, and she wasn't sure if she needed to approach him or just let him be. He hadn't said a word to her since he left the night before... He hadn't even bothered checking in.

Sora slowed his walk when he heard Kairi behind him, the teen's hands in his pockets as he turned around and his confused and sad eyes danced over his fiance. Don't you understand? he wanted to say. You're acting really reckless and unlike yourself with all this. It's proof that you're not ready for this fight. She was acting so...childish.
Kairi gazed at Sora in silence, no longer walking as she stopped a few feet away. She wasn't sure what to say to him, the only thing that appeared in her mind revolving around his disappearance the night before. Didn't he realize that she was offended by his lack of faith in her?

Sora was stopped as well, his eyes locked on Kairi but not necessarily looking at her eyes. He didn't know what to say, but the honest truth. "Look," he said softly. "I know you're infuriated with me. I shouldn't have left like I did, but I couldn't let you come with me. Not after what happened yesterday." He wasn't referring to Xemnas; he was referring to the broken promise. His eyebrows furrowed in sadness and disappointment. "You promised that you would leave a fight if I told you to as long as I gave you a chance. I held up my part of the deal. You didn't." She stayed and she got hurt. She could have gotten herself killed!
Kairi looked away, her fingers curling into her palms out of discomfort. "...I'm sorry," she said softly. She had just wanted to prove herself to him so badly! He only let her battle the Heartless and the Nobodies, and only the Shadows or Dusks. The big ones he pushed her away from so he could destroy them, because he thought they were too dangerous for her. His lack of faith was...insulting.

Sora looked away, eyebrows still furrowed for the same reasons as before. "For which?" he asked tightly. "Breaking a promise or scaring me half to death?" He knew he was being a little harsh, but this was serious! She wasn't ready for the big fights yet and she knew it. This wasn't about him lacking any type of faith in her; it was her fighting abilities that he doubted. She had to know that.
Kairi's eyes stung with sudden moisture, her gaze locked on one of the hedges shaped to match the castle's decorations. "...I was just..." she tried, but her voice failed her. Saying that she was trying to prove herself to him wasn't going to make this any better. It was just an excuse...

"Trying to prove yourself," Sora finished for her without looking up. But then he did look up as he looked at his fiance, eyes softer. "Kai," he said quietly, "you proved that you're strong in other battles. I get it, okay? But by not obeying me, you proved that you're not in the right place mentally. This war, against Xehanort and all them, isn't all about physical strength. It's trusting in allies. And you failed to trust my judgment."
Kairi shook her head a little, eyes closing and a tear trailing down her cheek. She started forward, keeping her gaze locked on the floor until she reached Sora. "So just leave then," she said, voice shaking as she briefly glanced at him. "You've proved your point." She was wrong, he was right, and she was going to be left here to wait, just like any other time.

Sora shook his head in silence when Kairi spoke and was about to pass him. After he stepped in her path, he wordlessly reached out and wrapped his arms around her, his hold gentle. One hand sat on her upper back while the other was on the back of her head. "It's not about proving a point," he silently said, shutting his eyes as he held Kairi. "It's about me knowing that my fiance will be alive at the end of the day." If she couldn't trust his judgment in battle, then he couldn't trust her out there either. He had to keep her safe.
Kairi could only stare at the wall behind Sora, his arms around her. She was fighting the urge to embrace him as well, aware that if she did that he would think everything was okay. It wasn't. His heart reaching out to her and contacting hers caused her to release another tear. "Sora...I..." she started. I'm not as weak as you think...

Sora stayed silent, just holding Kairi for a few moments. But then he released her and looked at her. She...didn't forgive him, did she? What did he expect her to do? She felt betrayed, and she had some right to feel that way, but so did Sora. "I know I said we could go together. But I made another promise a long time ago, and that was to make sure you didn't get hurt. That's the promise I'm going to keep now, whether you can forgive me for only keeping that promise or not." He gazed at her softly for a moment before he turned and started walking down the hall. He didn't know what else could be said here.
Kairi pressed her lips together, aware that the bottom one was about to quiver at the sight of Sora leaving again. She hated seeing him walking away all the time! "...Stop trying to be the hero!" she hollered, her voice echoing off the walls. She glared at her husband-to-be with sadness and anger combined, as well as disappointment. Didn't he get it? Nobody was telling him or asking him to go off by himself! He was doing it on his own, and leaving her behind! If he thought their marriage was going to be the same way, then there wasn't going to be a wedding.

Sora stopped walking at Kairi's holler, his back to her. Don't you get it?! he wanted to holler. Somebody has to be. There were no other options here. If he hadn't gone off on his own, they wouldn't even know about the Organization being back. Nobody else was willing to split off now, so he did it. It was best that way. He knew he was leaving her behind, but it was what needed to be done. He would have taken her, but she blew her chance.
Kairi looked at Sora's back, just like any other time he left her. "Don't you understand?" she called. "You're always leaving. I stayed with you for as long as I could while you were saving the world, trying to prove that I can be in that part of your life too. I tried protecting you, but you didn't believe in me! How do you think that makes me feel? The person that's going to be my husband doesn't have faith in me!" It was insulting and degrading, and altogether upsetting.

"Kairi, this isn't about you!" Sora cried, turning around to face her as his eyebrows were furrowed in anger at her accusations. "If you think I didn't have faith in you, you were blind. It's your fighting abilities that are in question here, and because of Xemnas, now I have reason to doubt you. I had faith in you and your potential, but you betrayed my trust." He had every reason to distrust her now. She set herself up for it.
"This isn't 'about' me?" Kairi questioned, eyebrows lifting as she fired back at Sora. She started toward him with slow steps. "Listen to what you're saying! This is about me, and it's about you! I trusted you to believe in me, and you still think I'm the damsel in distress. The Keyblade is a part of me too! I'm going to get stronger and I'm going to go out and fight, whether you like it or not!"
  • Author
Sora glared at Kairi in silence, blue eyes intense. "I don't think you're a damsel in distress," he said lowly. "If I thought that, I wouldn't have let you fight with me in the first place. And I already admitted that you're good in battle, just not ready for Xehanort. Stop forcing these ideas on me Kairi, because they're wrong," he finished, without taking his eyes off Kairi.
"Then stop sending me the wrong signals," Kairi replied, stopping in front of Sora. Her moist eyes locked onto the blue she adored, and would always adore, no matter what. "I may be acting stubborn, but so are you. It's just..." She glanced away for a second, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "I love you, Sora, with everything I have. But...you can't keep doing this, leaving people behind...going out on your own. Where's the person that said his friends are his power?"
  • Author
"He's right here," Sora said more softly, pointing his thumb at himself. "My friends are my power. But that doesn't mean I need to fight alongside them all the time. I'm going alone so that we have a chance in this war. There are no other options here. Believe me, I tried to find them..." He tried letting Kairi come with him, but she lost his trust in battle. He couldn't take her back again, not when the stakes were so high.
Kairi blinked at a sudden thought that entered her mind, which caused a few tears to leave both of her eyes. "...You could die," she whispered weakly. By going alone, someone could get him...like Xemnas nearly did. She didn't want that happening. She couldn't live if that happened.

Sora lifted his hands, setting both of them on Kairi's cheeks as his thumbs wiped at the tears. "I know," he whispered. "But if you were with me, you could too." If she died and he didn't, he would blame himself forever. It wasn't right for Kairi, the sweetest, most loving girl he knew, to die on a battlefield. The mental image made him feel sick to his stomach.
Kairi gazed up at her husband-to-be with soft eyes, her fear finally surfacing and her anger fading. She didn't want to die, which was why she understood Sora's reasons for making her stay; he didn't want her to die either. But...what about him? "...I'm scared," she admitted, closing her eyes. The action caused another tear to slip by her lashes and trail down her cheek.

"I know," Sora whispered again, wiping at the new tear. He leaned forward, planting a kiss on the top of Kairi's red hair. "I am too." He was scared that none of his friends would survive his fight, which was why he was taking such desperate measures. His friends had to survive. If he did and they didn't, he would have no reason to live. Especially if Kairi was one of the ones that died...
