Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku approached Lightning and squatted down in front of her, lifting a hand to brush some of her hair out of her face. "How're you feeling?" he asked quietly. She certainly didn't look good, and by the way she was covered in blankets and in front of the fire, she probably wasn't feeling it either.

Kairi walked into the room a few seconds after Riku, hearing some soft words but not clearly understanding them. She moved to the nearest seat and fell into it, still light-headed and lacking the Light she would have had in her heart if it weren't for Master Retlaw's tricks. She almost died... It was a scary thought, one that made her curl her fingers into her thighs.

"I'm okay," Lightning responded softly, feeling Riku's fingertips glide over her skin. She couldn't remember a situation like this happening before; she never, ever got sick. And at an important time like this? She felt like something was up, but maybe she was over thinking it. She made sure not to let Retlaw anywhere near her food...or so she thought.
Riku didn't respond, letting his hand move through Light's hair before falling back to his knee. She would have been perfectly fine if Retlaw hadn't been so sneaky. Regardless, Riku knew that he had to put his dislike for the man aside for right now. The others would be arriving soon to discuss what happened.

Lightning slowly sat up once Riku was done running his fingers through her hair, the soldier sitting on the middle cushion instead of scooting over to the corner. That was where Riku could sit, if he wanted. She turned her head and looked towards the doorway, seeing others entering the room. Ven was the first she saw, and her brother took a spot on the same couch but left the other space next to Light for Riku to take.
Roxas walked into the room a few seconds after Ventus, Master Eraqus coming down the hall in the other direction. He glanced over in time to see Riku take a seat beside Lightning, but he also saw traces of blood on Kairi's face. Whatever happened, he was wanting to hear it now. He went over to lean against one of the chairs, willing to let Namine have the open seat.

Lightning was sitting with her legs folded to the side, so she was already leaning a little bit in Riku's direction. Despite sensing that this meeting would be serious, she scoot a little closer to Riku and rested her head against his upper arm. His warmth was nice, even if she should have been very warm already because of the fire and the blanket. Stupid sickness. But it wouldn't stop her from being a part of the group, which she noticed was now complete. Everyone was here.
Riku glanced over at Lightning when she came closer, and he moved to place a small kiss in her hair. He held it for only a moment, turning his attention to the others when everyone finally entered the room. It was time to get down to business and settle things, things that happened because of the man leaning against the wall not too far off.

Sora stood behind Kairi's chair, his hands on the back of it as he overlooked the room. He would say what happened; he was the one who witnessed it. "Master Retlaw hasn't been completely honest with us," he declared to his friends. "He didn't mention that when Kairi used her Light to reveal Kingdom Hearts, she would nearly lose her heart in the process." He shifted his gaze to Retlaw, glaring at him for what he did. He would never forgive that man for hurting his fiance.

Kairi gently wiped at her mouth and chin, as well as underneath her nose, Aqua having been nice enough to get her a damp rag to clean herself up. She shyed away from the glances in her direction, just thankful she was still alive. She had been seconds from death, or so it seemed, and Retlaw wouldn't have even cared.

"We were too quick to trust him," Aqua said, her arms crossed over her chest as she walked a few steps forward. "We were so hung up on defeating Xehanort we didn't look into specifics, and unfortunately he didn't bother to give them, unlike his service." She glanced over at the man who shamefully stared at the ground. "Things were almost in our favor; we nearly got away from summoning Kingdom Hearts's power, but Master Xehanort showed up when Master Retlaw and I were locked in a battle."

"We were forced to summon the hearts of the Keyblade warriors; Master Xehanort ordered me to do it for some reason," Sora said, shaking his head faintly. That didn't make sense, but they could worry about that later. "As soon as the warriors were back, they restarted their fighting. But Master Xehanort quickly recruited those of Darkness to join him and they left the scene. We talked to the rest of the Keyblade wielders afterward and they agreed to help, but only if they met the rest of our group." So, they would have to head back to the Keyblade Graveyard pretty soon; they were waiting.
"So Master Retlaw got his wish," Riku added, looking over at the man. "He got the hearts freed from Kingdom Hearts, no matter who he had to hurt to do it." Kairi wasn't the only one; Lightning was affected too, unfortunately. And once she found out about it, she wasn't going to be happy.

Terra's eyes were narrowed as he looked at the man, aware that he wasn't the only one glaring at him. "Why'd you do it?" he asked the Keyblade Master. What was his reasoning behind all this? Aqua was right before with her suspicions, and while he didn't ignore them, he wished he took them more seriously. Master Retlaw did this for his own gain, didn't he? But Terra couldn't figure out what there was to gain.

Retlaw lifted his head to find all eyes on him. "I assure you, my intentions were good," he said, meeting the glare of each young man or woman in the room. "I did what was necessary to make sure Master Xehanort would be defeated." If a few sacrifices were needed to do good for all people, he would make those sacrifices.

As a soldier, Lightning could understand what Retlaw wasn't putting into words. He was willing to sacrifice them (or at least Kairi) in order to protect the worlds. No wonder I sensed something off about this guy, she thought, remaining silent. He doesn't value the life of the individual; he values the lives of a mass of people. She had been in Kairi's position before; as a l'cie on Cocoon, she had been an individual that needed to be sacrificed so that the people could live. Or at least, that was the case that Cid Raines had presented. She hated that argument. One person could make all the difference.
Kairi clutched the damp cloth in her hand, her face clear of any blood. She looked at Master Retlaw, having lost some respect for him when he so willingly neglected to say she could lose her life. It wasn't something she was okay with. Even if her heart was drained of a lot of its Light, she still saw that he was doing what was good for the people. That she respected.

"Anything else you wanna tell us?" Sora asked with an arched brow, his voice far from kind as he spoke to the man. He nearly took his fiance's life, claiming it was for the greater good. He was wrong to think that she was expendable, because she wasn't. Not just to him, but to all the people who ever met her. Kairi was priceless.

Master Retlaw looked at the young man who spoke before nodding. "The reason you're sick, soldier," he began, letting his sight fall on the young woman curled up against Riku's side, "is because of me. I slipped a few drops of a potion into your last meal." He watched as Riku's glare grew in viciousness, but he knew he deserved it.

Lightning's glare remained, though she could tell by Riku's silent seething that he already knew this. "I'm not surprised," she said lowly. It was too convenient that she would get sick now, when she was snooping and trying to prove that Retlaw wasn't being honest with them. And she was right about it, too.

"My apologies," Retlaw said with a small nod. "To all of you." His eyes moved over everyone and stopped on the Princess and her lover. "I was only focusing on Xehanort's demise, and not your individual lives. For that, I opt out of any leadership positions from here onward. Your choices are now yours to make."

I think he's genuine this time, Ven realized, getting a different vibe than he did before. He never thought badly of the man, but now that he was viewing things in a different light, he could tell why he was suspicious before. Now he seemed to be honest. The blond looked around the room, specifically to Aqua. She was the one who thought he was lying the first time around; he felt like she should have been the one to decide what to do with him.
Aqua felt Ven's gaze on her, and she met it briefly before looking to the ground. She closed her eyes and released a small breath. "We'll spare your life," she said softly, eyebrows furrowing. After a moment she looked up at the man, seeing his surprised expression. "This war isn't about you. It's about defeating Xehanort and saving the worlds. If you were to lose your life, it wouldn't make a difference; it would only make those who have a grudge feel better, and none of us are that heartless. If you had betrayed Master Xehanort, he wouldn't give you a second chance. Think of it that way."

Agreed, Sora thought silently, knowing he was one of the ones who would hold a grudge. He didn't hold grudges very often, but he couldn't help it when Kairi's life was on the line. All jokes were cast to the side when her life was at stake. Since he stood behind her chair, he lifted one of his hands off the back of it and lightly set it on her head, his thumb stroking over her hair briefly. He was just glad that she was still with him after that.

"Your assistance is no longer needed, Master Retlaw," Aqua continued, eyes resting on the man. "You're free to leave." She jerked her head slightly towards the door, signaling which way he could take off and go home.

Master Retlaw looked over all of the Keybladers and their loved ones, pushing himself silently away from the wall. "Thank you all for your kindness. It shall not go ignored," he said with a small nod. "May others witness the graciousness of your hearts and befriend you." He looked over all of them one more time before walking through the room and out the door to depart. He was no longer needed, as he was told.

Terra watched Master Retlaw leave their presence in silence, as everyone else did. Now that he was gone, he realized that the man did help them immensely. They had a lot of people who were willing to fight for their cause, much more than Xehanort did. But he still had Heartless, Unversed, and Nobodies on his side. This would be no easy feat, beating them.
Aqua exhaled a heavy breath when Master Retlaw left, her eyes falling to the floor as she uncrossed her arms. She never wanted to kill, but with the Keyblade, there wasn't really a choice. Except for now, with Master Retlaw. She decided to give him life, because he did what was best for the good of mankind, and not himself.
