Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Yup," Sora said with a nod after briefly glancing over at Kairi to make sure that was truth. "Do you know about anyone else?" The last time Sora saw Roxas and Namine, they were both fine. But it had been a while since he saw anybody else, even Riku. He was glad to see that he was okay too.
"Everyone's safe...except Terra," Riku admitted. He turned his head, looking up at the cliff his friend was on. "He's battling Xehanort as we speak." But...there was still someone else missing. Where was Lightning? Riku lowered his gaze at that, grunting when he realized that he hadn't seen her for a while. He turned his head, feet moving in a semi-circle as he searched the crowd for her. Where could she have been?

King Mickey blinked in surprise, looking up at Riku and disregarding his actions as he took in his words instead. "Terra?" he checked. Terra wasn't even supposed to be in this world, but Mickey didn't doubt Riku's words. Terra was here...and fighting Master Xehanort. But King Mickey sensed that it was Terra's battle to fight alone, so he didn't bring up helping him.
Aqua entered the small area her friends were gathered in, nodding to the King's question. "Yes," she said softly. "He came here on his own. This fight with Master Xehanort isn't over until Terra's finished it himself." That was what she got out of this, at least. Terra needed to do this, even if she was scared for him.

Namine joined the circle then, in time to see King Mickey nod in silence. She knew that Terra was incredibly strong physically, and from what she knew of him, he had a strong, genuine heart as well. She hoped that it would be enough to conquer Xehanort, but at the same time, she had faith that it would be. They couldn't lose anyone in this fight.
"...Where's Lightning?" Riku asked, turning his head to look at the others. Roxas and Namine were here, as were Master Eraqus, Aqua, Kairi, Sora, and King Mickey. And so were the warriors of Light, Twilight, and Nothingness---in other words, their allies. But where was Lightning...and where was Kain?

Ven glanced over at Master Eraqus briefly before he looked down to the ground. Maybe you should be the one to explain... he thought silently. Ven didn't think that he saw the whole thing; he came over just as Lightning shoved Master Eraqus out of Vanitas's path. He thought there was more to it than that, but there wasn't.

Riku glanced over at Ventus and Master Eraqus and--as observant as ever--noticed the looks on their faces. "Where is she?" he asked. Why weren't they saying anything? If they had something to say, then they needed to say it. Now wasn't the time for keeping secrets.

Master Eraqus stepped forward, his armor concealing his face as he looked to Riku. "I can explain," he stated. At Riku's small motion with his hand, he continued. "I had a premonition a while back regarding my death. Vanitas was to deal the blow and take me out of the fight for good." At this, he heard multiple grunts and gasps in surprise. "But...I wasn't the one who met his sword." Lightning was.

Ven's eyes widened as he looked over at his Master. You didn't tell us about this... he thought. If they had only known, they wouldn't have allowed Master Eraqus to join this final battle! But...He lived, despite his premonition. Still, his premonition involved death, and if he wasn't the one who faced it, did that mean that Lightning did...?

Riku's eyes narrowed as he ground his teeth together, his gaze locked on Master Eraqus. "So...Lightning died for you?" he said, making sure he heard this correctly. "And you're just telling us now?" Why didn't he make an anouncement through his mouthpiece?! Not only would Riku have stopped fighting, but he was sure Ven would have as well.

Kairi took a small step forward, sensing Riku's rage. "Riku..." she coaxed gently. Stay calm. We'll figure this out, okay? He just had to keep his cool for now.

"She could possibly be alive, but I couldn't see for myself," Eraqus revealed, calm despite Riku's obvious anger. "The leader of the Twilight warriors took her to safety before I could do anything."

"Kain swooped in and took her away right after it happened," Ven added, looking at Riku clearly since he discarded his helmet a long time ago. "They just...disappeared." He didn't know Kain had the power to teleport to other worlds, but he figured that must have been what happened. But which world would they have gone to?
Kairi approached Riku, his head now down as he registered the news. Her Keyblade still lingering in her hand, she lifted her free one to set on his armor-clad arm. When his head was turned in her direction, she nodded slightly. "Go make sure she's okay," she encouraged softly. "We'll take care of the rest." Right now, Lightning was most important to Riku; everyone could see that. He didn't need to be here any longer.

Ven was torn; did he stay here with Terra, or did he help look for Lightning too? Though Lightning was his family by blood, he had a much stronger connection to Terra, who was above, fighting Xehanort. Little did he know that Master Eraqus planned on going with Riku to search for Lightning. If that would be the case, Ven would stay with Terra for both his and his Master's sake.
Riku nodded slightly after thinking things over, agreeing with Kairi. He needed to see Lightning, to make sure she was alive. He let his eyes drift over his comrades, though they lingered on Master Eraqus. "You should go too," he suggested. "I think Lightning might want to hear this for herself." He motioned for Kairi to back up, and once she did, he summoned his glider. He wasn't sure where he would start looking, but he would find Lightning. By the way Master Eraqus summoned his glider as well, the old man agreed to come along and explain himself.

Gran Pulse

"Lightning, hear me out," Kain Highwind said, taking a step closer to the soldier who had her sword pointed at him. It wasn't healthy for her to be fighting right now; she was still wounded from the battle earlier. He had taken her away to this world, her home, while she was still unconscious. They were outside the portal to Orphan's Cradle, and as soon as Lightning woke up and realized this, she broke free of him and raised her sword at him.

"Shut up, Kain," Lightning said, taking a step back to match Kain's step forward. She held her sword with both hands by her face, eyes narrowed in both suspicion and pain as she glared at him. "Why'd you bring me here? Why were you about to take me through that portal?" He had a lot of explaining to do.

Riku flew over Gran Pulse, Master Eraqus just to his left as he joined him. With a hunch, he knew to come here. Kain spoke with Lightning like he knew her before, and acted the same. Naturally, Riku came to Lightning's former home, or at least what was left of it.

"You really expect me to believe this crap you're telling me? That we 'knew each other in another life'?" Lightning spat without letting her guard down, despite the aching in her back that she felt from Vanitas's nearly lethal attack. If she hadn't been wearing her armor, she would have been a goner. But the armor wasn't on now; she was in her normal clothes.

"It was more than just 'knowing each other," Kain said, his hands still weaponless as he gazed at Lightning. As he already told her, they actually cared for each other. He tried explaining to her that Orphan's Cradle was connected to the other universe that they met in, but she wasn't buying any of it. Her memories were truly gone from that time.

Riku wasn't seeing anything from higher ground, so he decided to go lower. He let his glider get closer to the earth before he jumped off, hearing Master Eraqus's grunt as he did the same. Riku landed smoothly on his feet, his armor disappearing once he was on the ground. He looked over at Eraqus, able to see his face now. "Keep your eyes peeled," he advised lowly. Riku would be as observant as he could be, but he needed to trust Master Eraqus to do the same. When he caught the older man nod, he started forward. It was time to find his beloved, and make sure she was alright.

"If you would just come with me, I could show you," Kain said, motioning to the portal. His words could only be taken for so much value; even he realized that. But the more he spoke to Lightning...the more convinced he was that she was starting to remember fragments of the truth. "Unless, of course, you already know that I'm speaking the truth and you're afraid to admit it."

"I'm not afraid to admit anything," Lightning said, bite in her tone. But she was. Recalling the last time she was in Orphan's Cradle, she remembered that she saw people that she never met before, yet she knew them. Yuna, Laguna, Tifa, Vaan... She had no memory of ever meeting them, yet she knew them. And she felt the same sensation when meeting Kain.

Kain studied her for a moment. "Yes, you are," he declared. She already knew he was speaking the truth. Still she gripped her weapon more tightly, as if ready to attack.

Master Eraqus walked with Riku for a few minutes, the two of them traveling through a brief stretch of woods. When he casually looked to the left, he thought he caught sight of something. A portal, perhaps? "Riku," he called, motioning to the younger man to join him from where he stood. "Do you see that?"

Riku peered through some brush, barely seeing what was beyond the woods. But then he recognized it. "That's the portal to Oprhan's Cradle," he stated. And when he listened closely, he could hear voices. "...Lightning." Riku pushed his way through the bushes and maneuvered through the trees. He was going to embrace Lightning the first chance he got... She had to be alive; he wouldn't mistake that voice for anything.

It's too late, Kain realized, looking over to the side as Lightning did the same. Whether she believed him or not, there was no more time to talk now that their conversation was being interrupted. It was easy for him to see who it was: Riku and Master Eraqus. He wasn't surprised to see the former, but the latter was unexpected.
Riku stopped once he was in the clearing, Master Eraqus's brief movement being the only sound around them. He looked from Kain to Lightning, his eyes lingering on her. "Light..." he breathed. She was alright... Thank goodness.

Lightning briefly glanced back at Kain, and seeing how he made no moves to threaten her, she slowly lowered her sword before collapsing it and putting it inside her bag. Looking back at Riku now, she couldn't think of anything to say; her voice was caught in her throat, both because of the fact that Riku was okay and because of Kain's words. She did take a step closer to him though, eyes dancing over him and seeing that he wasn't wounded.
Riku smiled a little, relief washing over him when he saw that she was still breathing, that her eyes were on his. He covered the distance between them quickly, approaching Lightning and wrapping his arms around her, pulling her close. "...Thank goodness you're alright," he breathed, one hand cupping the back of her head. He had been scared...

Lightning grunted roughly when Riku put a hand right on her wound, the slice in her back that Vanitas managed to inflict as he knocked her unconscious. She shut her eyes and curled her hands into tight fists, unaware that Kain was gazing at her with great concern. She was fortunate that he whisked her away; she realized that much. If he hadn't, somebody would have finished her off while she was unconscious.
