Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Destiny Islands

Riku walked on the beach with Lightning, the time nearing sunset as he started to take her home. They were finally back on the Islands, after what felt like an eternity, at least to him. He and Lightning separated from the others upon arrival, though King Mickey and Master Eraqus went back to Disney Castle and Land of Departure to take care of their own duties. Regardless, Riku was just happy to be with Lightning in peace again. They hadn't gotten more than a few hours of peace for a while now; he hoped that changed now that the Darkness was out of the picture.

Lightning had her arm around Riku's lower back as they approached her house, the young woman lightly leaning into him. When they reached the front door, Light reached out a hand and turned the knob. That was when she froze, stiffening. "...Unlocked?" Her home was unlocked. Somebody had been there. Or still was there.
"What?" Riku asked, eyebrows furrowing. He eyed the door with suspicion. He then slowly lifted his arm that wasn't around Lightning's shoulder, pushing the door in. It opened with ease, though there was nothing odd about the interior. Not yet, at least.

Lightning stepped out from underneath Riku's arm, walking inside first. It was her home; she would deal with this. She stepped into the living room and flipped on a light, eyes narrowing as soon as she saw who was standing in front of the couches. "Breaking and entering now, Highwind?" she asked lowly, glaring at him. What was he doing here?!
Riku followed in after Lightning, leaving the front door open as he stopped behind her. "You've got to be kidding," he mumbled. What was this guy's deal? Was he that set on finishing his conversation with Lightning? He's taking desperate measures, and that makes me nervous. What exactly does he want?

"I meant what I said before," Kain said simply. "I intend to speak with you further about that topic, Lightning." Riku didn't need to be a part of it, either. This was a personal matter and Lightning knew it. She could try to kick him out of her life, but she would have a hard time accomplishing that. If she truly remembered him, then she would have known that he was persistent.
Is it necessary to do it now? Riku thought, looking from Kain to the woman he loved. They just got back from battle; Kain could have allowed Lightning some time to rest. "Do you want to do this?" he asked her. If not, he would escort Kain out. He didn't like the vibes this guy gave off.

"I don't have any other choice," Light responded with a faint shake of her head. Kain would keep antagonizing her until she spoke with him. She walked forward, motioning for Kain to sit on one couch while she moved towards another. "So let's get it over with." Whatever more he wanted to discuss, they would get it done with now.
Considering he was already standing in the archway to the living room, Riku leaned his shoulder against it, his hands going into his pockets. He would stick around for this, though he wouldn't invade Lightning's space and hover over her shoulder. She could handle this, but he wanted to keep an eye on Kain. There was just something about him...

Kain glanced over at Riku as he sat down, eyebrows furrowed behind his helmet. "I'd prefer to speak to you alone," he said to Lightning, looking back at her.

"Deal with it," Lightning responded simply, folding her arms over her chest as she looked at Kain. She wasn't going to force Riku to leave, because she didn't trust Kain completely. He said they were allies and...lovers, in the past, but there was more to it than that. She could sense it.

Kain nodded slightly, this being the Lightning that he knew. "Are you willing to listen to logic this time?" he asked her, only getting a grunt as a response. She wanted him to cut to the chase. "Very well. I do not know much about your past in this world, so forgive me for any assumptions that I may make. But no matter what happened to you in this world, this is not the only war that you've fought in."

Riku's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at Kain, though his eyes then moved to Lightning. Another war? Riku made sure to pay extra attention now, and specifically to this so-called war Lightning fought in.

"You were summoned to fight in another war for goddess Cosmos," Kain informed Lightning, telling her the same things that he told her earlier but adding more detail. "I was also summoned to be a part of her forces, as were others. Perhaps you remember them. Vaan, Tifa, Laguna, Yuna, The Warrior of Light..." Those were the people who Lightning interacted with the most, other than himself. Her face was stoic, hard. But he could tell that he was getting to her. "The point is, we all fought against the forces of Chaos, the god of Discord. All of us except for the Warrior of Light sacrificed our lives for the cause. Even you, Lightning." She looked away at that, eyebrows furrowed.
Riku blinked, stiffening as he stared at Kain. Lightning...died? Kain had to be making this up; Riku wasn't willing to accept that the person he loved died in another life. He then let his aqua eyes find Lightning, spotting the look she wore. Did she actually...remember this?

"...I can guess what you're thinking now," Kain said. "You never disappeared from this world for that long of a time. But neither did I. I was asleep in spirit when I was called to that realm to fight. Were you ever asleep for a prolonged period?" He looked up at her, seeing her hands curl into tighter fists. I'll take that as a yes. "And now that I've presented you the logical arguments and shown that it's possible this happened, can you focus on what we spoke of earlier?" I told you we had a relationship, or at least interest in each other. You have to recall at least a little of that.
"...Which would be...?" Riku prodded, a silence having lingered for more than a few seconds. One topic--that of war--was bad enough; he couldn't imagine what this next one would be. Riku only wished he could read Kain's face, but he still wore his helmet, which kept him from doing such a thing.

Lightning shook her head faintly, rising to her feet as her hands remained in fists by her sides. "...Give me time," she finally said, looking at Kain as he too rose to his feet. She didn't want to talk about this when Riku was here; Riku would kill Kain. Besides, Lightning already had a lot on her plate. She was starting to remember.
Riku lifted an eyebrow in curiosity and disbelief. "Time for what?" he asked, giving her and Kain the same look. What was he missing that was so crucial here? Lightning knew how aggravated he got when left out of the loop.

"...As you wish," Kain said after a moment, nodding faintly to Lightning. At least she wasn't rejecting what he said outright this time. They would continue this discussion at another time. He walked past her, starting for the doorway that Riku was in so that he could pass the young man and be on his way. He would return at another time.
Riku's aqua eyes followed Kain's movements, skeptical and beyond curious of what exactly was going on here. You're up to something, he thought of the man. And I'm going to figure it out. Soon. Riku hated being confused, which was exactly how he was feeling. He wanted to settle this, but it seemed like that opportunity wouldn't be showing up tonight.

Lightning listened as Kain left, shutting the door behind him. When he was gone, she sat back down on the edge of her couch. With elbows on her knees, she brought her hands to the back of her neck as she lowered her head. This is...insane, she thought. Some guy randomly showed up and told her that she lived another life, and in that life, they were very close. She didn't see what she would have found attractive in Kain; he was pushy, rude, arrogant, and yet...That was how Lightning viewed Riku at first.
Riku didn't move from his spot, staring at Lightning from where he stood. What's going on? he asked silently, the pressure from his gaze surely interpreting that. He didn't like being kept in the dark any more than Lightning did, so what was she hiding from him?

It's not completely insane, Light realized, slowly lowering her hands so that they were clasped in front of her. She was referring to all of it, not just the notion that she lived another life. She had seen a lot of weird things in her life...or lives, if what Kain said was true. "I know you want to know," she said without looking up, feeling Riku's gaze on her. "Kain believes that in this other life, we were interested in each other." That was what he wanted to speak about just now.
Riku stiffened at the news, blinking as his eyebrows furrowed. Interested in each other...as in, lovers. That was what Riku got out of the statement, which made him close his eyes. He thought he was the lucky one, the unique guy that Lightning could see herself with; the only guy Lightning could see herself with. But...it was just an illusion. She saw Kain as someone she could love, didn't she?

"Relax," Lightning said, looking up at Riku. "Even if he was telling the truth about that other life, my feelings didn't transfer over. I'm not in love with Kain." She didn't even know if she liked him as a friend; he knew how to get under her skin. But again, that was the same way Riku was in the beginning. That made her a little nervous, but she wouldn't bring it up now. Riku was the man she loved, not Kain.
Riku didn't say anything, staying completely still as Light's words registered. She told him to relax, but he honestly didn't think that was possible. She may have said her feelings didn't transfer over, but it was becoming clearer that Kain's did. That has to be why he's so persistent, Riku figured. He wants her again.
