Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Namine hesitated at Roxas's tone, but she had asked him earlier if he was okay, and he hadn't wanted to talk. So, she wouldn't ask him again. She turned and walked to the front of the apartment, grabbing a key on the way out and putting it in her pocket. Shutting the door behind her, it only took her a minute to get to the bottom floor and walk outside. It wasn't raining extremely heavily, and impulse took over. She walked out from the porch and stood with her toes in the sand, letting the rain wash over her as she stood still. It didn't occur to her that she could see her room from that spot, though, or that anybody in her room could see her.
Roxas opened his eyes after a few minutes, opening his eyes to look out the window again. To his surprise, he saw Namine down below. He blinked, uncrossing his arms, his hands finding the windowsill. What're you doing? he wondered. Why was she out in the rain?

Namine looked up at the sky, blinking when a drop fell into her eye. But another dropped out of it, and this one was a tear. I thought I would be ready for this, she thought to herself, wrapping her arms over her chest as she lowered her head. I trained so hard so that I could protect the people that I love. But now that I've finally been in a fight...I feel so scared of the future. She didn't know where to go from here.
Roxas's eyes narrowed slightly before he turned, walking through the room and the apartment. Before he got to the door, he put on his shoes and grabbed Namine's jacket, taking the stairs to the first floor. He went outside, pushing the lobby doors open as he descended the small steps to the sand. "Namine," he called, approaching her. Was she crazy? Standing out in the rain? Did she hit her head too?

Namine was surprised to hear Roxas's voice, but at the same time, she wasn't. He always seemed to find her. She turned around and looked back at him, certain that he wouldn't be able to tell that she had been shedding tears. The rain covered that. "Hm?" she called, though she would read his expression. He wondered what she was doing out here.
"Did you hit your head earlier?" Roxas called, blinking through the rain as he felt himself get pelted with raindrops. He grabbed her jacket and slung it over her shoulders once he was in front of her, making sure it stayed on before he let go. Why was she out here?

That was a question that Namine hadn't been expecting. She blinked in surprise, automatically lifting a hand to the jacket. "No," she said softly, turning away from Roxas a little bit. "I just...like the rain." Even if the night air was cool, and so was the rain, she had wanted to stand in it. It felt cleansing, even if she wasn't sure exactly why she felt so dirty.
"You could get sick," Roxas said, eyebrows furrowed as he tried to focus on Namine. He could feel his hair absorb the rain, but it would be drenched soon. "We should go inside." But somehow, he didn't think Namine would agree to that. Something drove her to come out here, so what was it?

I should have expected you to be this over protective, Roxas, Namine thought without looking back over at him. "I'm guessing that if I stay out, you will too, huh?" she asked softly. She didn't care that she was drenched by now, but she wasn't sure if Roxas had any other clothes with him that he could get changed into like she did. If that was the case, she would go back inside with him.
Roxas nodded once, blinking water out of his eyes. He threw on a shirt before he came out, but this was all he really had. He was sure Namine had some of his old t-shirts stowed away somewhere, but there was no telling how she would be now. After the fight...she wasn't the same.

"Okay," Namine said quietly after a few seconds. "Go ahead back in. I'll be there in a minute." She just wanted the rain to wash over her for one more minute, then she would be a little more okay. But what was she going to do after this? Roxas was going to ask a lot of questions; he always did. And she wasn't sure that she had the answers.
Roxas heard what Namine had to say, but he didn't move. He looked at her, silently waiting as the raindrops fell on both of them. He wasn't leaving her side, even if all the danger was terminated. He had been so scared when she protected him instead of herself... That wasn't what he wanted at all.

Namine bit down on her lip, which started trembling, as she turned away from Roxas. The tears dripped from her eyes again, blending in with the raindrops. "Roxas," she said weakly. Please... She didn't want him worrying about her more than he already was. It was already pretty bad.
Roxas's eyebrows furrowed a little more, and he took a small step over, trying to get a look at Namine's face. "What's wrong?" he asked over the rain. Was she upset about something? Was it the fight, or what happened to Lightning? Did he do something?

Namine shook her head faintly, her long blonde hair swaying despite its wetness. "I've just got a lot on my mind," she said softly, looking down at the ground. The battle, as a whole. She did everything that she could have done, but people still got hurt. She felt guilty for it, even if it wasn't her fault. People felt pain...because she wasn't good enough in battle.
Roxas lowered his gaze at that, staring down at the wet sand. About the battle, he wanted to say, but he couldn't speak; his mind was reeling back to the moment when Larxene struck Namine...after she protected Roxas. That wasn't something he was proud of.

Namine turned to look at Roxas, her eyes locking onto his. "Let's go in, okay?" she asked softly. It wasn't something she was doing for her own sake, but for his. She wished he hadn't followed her out; now she had to hope that there were clothes that he could change into and be dry in.
Roxas glanced up at Namine, studying her expression before nodding. He turned and walked across the wet sand, bounding up the steps to reach the porch of the apartment building. Why wouldn't Namine talk to him? Did he do something? Or was it something he didn't do that upset her?
  • Author
Namine and Roxas headed up to her apartment, and she used the key she grabbed to let them both inside. After they were both in, she shut the door softly behind them and locked the door again before returning they key to its previous position. "I'm sorry for dragging you out into the rain," she said softly. "Do you have clothes to change into?"
Roxas shook his head, slipping off his shoes. "No," he said softly. "But I'll survive." He could at least run his shirt through the dryer to dry it off, but his pants would be fine soon. They weren't out in the rain for too long.

"Sorry," Namine said again, shifting her gaze to the floor as her head lowered. She should have figured out right away that Roxas would linger in the rain with her and just stayed inside. It wasn't like she felt any better now than she did earlier, anyway. If anything, it was worse, because now her emotions were brought to the surface.
Roxas shrugged, his eyes on Namine. So he was wet. So what? He would be fine, just like he said. Namine, on the other hand, didn't look so good...and that was what worried Roxas. What was she thinking about?
  • Author
What am I supposed to tell you, Roxas? Namine thought without looking up. For years, you taught me how to defend myself at least a little bit. And now that I can actually stand up to serious threats, I'm scared. Why is this fear just settling in now? She had seen real battles before, so she couldn't say she was shocked by this one. There was just something about this whole situation that made her feel sick to her stomach.
Roxas tilted his head slightly, only a small foot of space between him and Namine. "...Can you talk to me?" he asked softly. "Please?" What was wrong? Her eyes were a little red, if he wasn't mistaken. Having seen her cry many times before, Roxas knew that was what she had been doing before he came outside. But...why?

Namine looked at Roxas's chest when he stood in front of her, and she knew now wasn't the time to be pushing him away. "I don't know what to say, Roxas," she said softly. "I just...For years, you've taught me self defense, and I've always wanted to grow stronger. And now I am. I thought it would make things so much simpler, but it only made things more complicated. What if, during that battle, I made a mistake and somebody got hurt because of it? It'd be my fault they were hurt..."
