Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Roxas's eyes softened at the words, and he stepped forward, his hands grasping Namine's upper arms. "Namine, you're not superhuman," he reasoned gently. "You learn after a while that you can't save everyone, and it's something you have to live with. Do you know how many warriors I watched fall a few days ago?" She and Roxas had been separated for a while during the whole thing, but he saw more than a few fall to soldiers of Darkness or the Organization. He had tried helping them, but sometimes it just couldn't happen. "Their fates were decided the second they stepped onto the battlefield. After that, there's nothing any of us can do."

"But we can defy fate, you know?" Namine reasoned, shaking her head faintly. "We've all done it. Especially us." She looked up at him, meeting his eyes. "We were supposed to be nothing, Roxas," she stated softly. "But we're so much more. We defied fate then...why can't we defy it other times to, and save people even when it seems like their time's up?"
Roxas's eyebrows furrowed at that, and he shook his head. Namine was right; the two of them were different, but... "I don't know," he answered regretfully. "We can try, but if that doesn't help...their fate can't be changed." That was the end of it.

Namine nodded faintly, unsure how else to respond to that. She had a feeling that Roxas wouldn't have answers to her questions. She was just glad that she was only thinking about it because people were hurt, not killed. If anybody had been killed at that fight because Namine failed to defend them, she would feel so much more guilt than she already felt, which was hard to imagine.
Roxas looked at Namine in silence for a moment, but then he spoke. "Is that what all this is about?" he asked softly. "You feel like you didn't do a good job today?" If she thought that, she was incredibly wrong. Roxas couldn't have been more proud of her.

"I feel like I did good," Namine acknowledged quietly, wrapping her arms more tightly over her chest because of the cold. "I just don't feel like it was good enough." Any different decision at any second of the battle could have made things completely different. It meant people could have been hurt less...She realized wounds weren't so bad compared to death, but still; Namine was too kindhearted to ignore this type of thing, especially if she believed she inflicted pain.
Roxas moved his hand to Namine's wet hair, his other hand still sitting on her arm. "Namine, honey, you did the best you could considering the circumstances," he told her. "Do you know how strong you were when it was only you and Lightning against Xemnas and Ansem, with a couple hundred Keyblade warriors standing around you, defenseless? You were amazing."

Namine felt her cheeks grow a little warmer at the compliments, naturally. Whenever Roxas complimented her, that was what happened. "I'm glad I did okay," she whispered. "I was really scared..." But even more than that, she still was scared. Battles were ugly affairs, and now she could participate in them. If she made just one mistake, though, somebody could die. That was a terrifying thought.
"But you weren't," Roxas said with a shake of his head. "Remember how you stopped me from taking you away? I was so mad at you then...but you didn't care." He understood now, what he had been trying to get earlier. "...You put everyone else's lives before your own, and that's not fear. That's courage." She was stronger than he even thought she was.

Namine's blush started appearing now, the blonde grasping what Roxas was saying. She lifted a hand, running a finger under her nose. "I guess..." she started softly, lifting her gaze to Roxas as a weak smile tugged at her lips. "...I can be brave after all." She had been brave with Lisa, but she thought that was a one-time experience. She didn't think that courage was actually a part of her now.
Roxas smiled slightly, his thumb running over some of Namine's skin before touching her hair. "Yes you can," he agreed with a small nod. And I'm proud of you for it. He trained her well, even if he didn't do much. He had the King to thank for that; he granted her powers, after all..

Namine lowered her gaze to Roxas's chest again, thinking again. There was only so much to do, but as long as she did her best, she couldn't live with regrets. She'd be brave and face future battles, even if she was scared. Being brave didn't mean that she wasn't afraid; it meant she was strong enough to overcome the fear. "Thank you, Roxas," she said softly. Now she felt better.
Roxas nodded again. "Mm," he hummed softly. He wasn't sure exactly what he did, but he assumed it was helping Namine overcome whatever anxiety she was experiencing. He started pulling his arms back, his hand leaving her head and arm as he looked at Namine with gentle eyes. He had been so angry with her earlier, so protective, but...she did the right thing. He realized that now.

Namine looked up at Roxas when he pulled back, her eyes finding his again. He looked like he had something to say, though Namine wasn't sure what that something was. Whatever it was, she was ready to listen to him. No matter what.
Roxas's eyes moved to the window in the living room when thunder roared, catching his attention. He stared in that direction silently, not knowing what to think of what happened today. They had all been having fun; he had been thinking of more ways to propose to Namine...and then chaos occurred. Namine risked her life for him, and that wasn't something he was comfortable with. Not in the slightest.

"Talk to me," Namine requested softly, ignoring her drenched hair and clothes as she continued gazing at Roxas. Something was up, clearly, but he wasn't opening up. She just spoke to him though, so he should have felt okay about coming to her too. Right?
"You just...scared me, that's all," Roxas admitted, lowering his head as he gazed at the floor. After a second, though, he lifted his eyes to Namine, looking at her from underneath his thick lashes. Namine protected him when he was trying to protect her, something he clearly hadn't wanted since he stepped in front of her. But...she got hurt because he couldn't protect himself. That wasn't okay.

Namine glanced down at the ground, readjusting her arms but then folding them over her chest again anyway as the coat remained over her shoulders. "Sorry," she said softly. "I knew how badly you wanted me to leave, but..." She couldn't run away. Not when things were so terrible.
"You couldn't," Roxas finished for her. He smiled weakly before looking back down at the ground. "Reminds me of the stubborn girl who disobeyed DiZ so much." Namine snuck into the data Twilight Town that Roxas was stuck in to see him, and she went against DiZ's orders. That Namine made an appearance a few hours ago.

Namine blinked, lifting her gaze to Roxas at the random reference. She smiled faintly, nodding as well. She had been pretty rebellious back then...strong. She had nothing to lose, really. She knew that DiZ would dispose of her when her purpose was done. But now, she had everything to lose, but she was still brave. She was proud of herself.
Roxas's smile remained, but only for a little while. It vanished as his fear returned. "But if you ever do that again, there will be some serious consequences," he said, pointing at her. He wasn't going to go through that fear again. It was awful.
  • Author
Namine's smile faded away completely at that, though she wasn't sure at first if Roxas was joking or not. He wasn't. "...I'll try not to scare you again," she promised quietly. That wasn't what he wanted her to say, obviously, but that was the best she could offer him. She had the power to fight now...she had to use it, to help her friends.
Roxas lowered his gaze at that, his hand doing the same. Better than nothing, he figured. And he was going to hold Namine to that promise. If she scared him again...he didn't know what he would do. He definitely wouldn't be happy with her.
  • Author
"...What would those consequences be, anyway?" Namine asked, still looking up at Roxas. She hoped that they never came up, but there was no telling what the future held now. Everything was going to be different.
Roxas shook his head, lifting a hand to the back of his neck as he started away from the apartment door. "I dunno..." he admitted. But he would figure it out soon. Maybe he wouldn't talk to her, or he'd yell at her. He would never hurt her, ever; that wasn't who he was. He would just be...furious.
