Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Namine turned, watching Roxas as he walked away. She glanced downward again, shivering. We should probably get dried off, she realized. They already dripped all over the ground, but maybe she was the only one who was cold. Roxas didn't seem to care, and he probably didn't. Different temperatures never phased him too much, because he was a warrior. A Keyblade Master.
Roxas ran his hand through his wet hair repeatedly, feeling water collide with his dry fingers. He felt himself wanting to just go to sleep, tired from the battle and the worrying. And the fear. He had never felt so defenseless in his life. Not having the Keyblade terrified him...

"Let's go back to the bedroom," Namine suggested softly. "I can get some towels so we can dry off..." Looking over Roxas's clothes, he looked dryer than she did. He hadn't been out in the rain as long as she had, so it made sense.
Roxas looked over his shoulder at Namine before staring down at himself. All he really had to do was take off his shirt and he was fine...but he nodded anyway. "'Kay," he said, heading toward the hallway, where Namine was. After that, he assumed they would sleep.

Namine walked down the hallway ahead of Roxas, since she was closer. There was a bathroom right next to the bedroom, so she ducked in that and grabbed two towels before coming into the bedroom. "Here," she said, tossing him a towel. Sorry I didn't get you one sooner. I should have thought of that before talking.
"Thanks." Roxas caught the towel with ease, though he only really ran it over his spiky hair, making it even messier. He sat down on the bed, aware that his jeans weren't as wet as Namine's sweats. The bed wouldn't get that wet; besides, this was his side.

Namine nodded faintly, lifting her towel to her hair as she wrang it out. Sometimes, her long hair bothered her, but she loved it too much to chop it off. Once her hair was dryer, she wrapped the towel around her shoulders. The jacket had fallen off when she did her hair, so once the towel was around her, she bent down and picked up the wet jacket and hung it on a hanger. She knew she could get changed, but it seemed like she and Roxas had more to talk about. And if she walked away now, they probably wouldn't talk about it.
Roxas let the towel sit beside him on the bed, hardly damp since he only dried off his hair. But then he started to peel his shirt from his skin, since it was clinging to his back and chest. Once it was off, he set it on the towel, so as not to get Namine's bed wet. He then stared at it, not knowing what to think. He was scared, defenseless, and angry with the way things happened. It wasn't fair.

"What's up, Roxas?" Namine asked softly, keeping her towel wrapped around her. She had been watching Roxas for a few moments now, and he wasn't acting like himself. It seemed like he still had a lot on his mind, which she was sure wasn't a good thing. So much happened lately that he couldn't possibly be thinking about anything good.
Roxas shook his head at the question, then reclining on the bed with a sigh. He had his eyes on the ceiling, his hands at his sides and resting on the mattress. "I dunno," he muttered in response. What could he say? He was angry that he couldn't protect Namine? That would be stupid, because she'd tell him that she didn't need protection anymore, and that she wanted to protect him instead. She did that, sure, but it didn't mean he was okay with it completely. And then there was the fact that he felt completely useless without his Keyblade, and scared for his life...

"...I'll give you a minute to think about it," Namine said softly. She moved over to the dresser and pulled out a pair of dry clothes before she went to the bathroom to get changed. She had a feeling Roxas already knew what was wrong, but he was having a hard time putting it into words. He would have to try, though, so she could understand.
Roxas exhaled a hard breath when Namine left the room, lifting his arms to cover his face and eyes. He knew he had to be honest; it was a vow he and Namine made after getting back together so long ago. Communication was very important for both of them, but...how did he say what he was feeling?

Namine came back to the room a few minutes later, wearing a long-sleeved shirt and sweats. She approached the bed quietly and sat down on it, looking down at Roxas. "Talk to me," she said gently. He didn't have to hide anything from her; she could handle it. She wasn't as fragile as she used to be.
"I don't know how," Roxas muttered, feeling pathetic. First he was upset about Xion, and now he was upset about Namine getting hurt... Was it going to end soon, or was he going to suffer for the rest of his life? He knew that anyone being associated with him was dangerous, since they could be a potential target. Namine was a perfect example of that; she was targeted more times than he could count, which was unnerving. Would marriage really be good for them? She'd be stuck with danger sneaking up on her occasionally, and Roxas wasn't okay with that.

"Just try," Namine requested gently, lifting a hand and setting it on Roxas's chest. She had been the same way earlier, but she found a way to put her thoughts into words. She had faith that he could do the same with whatever was on his heart. He had to, really.
Namine's hand was cold on Roxas's skin, which made him inhale, but he didn't want the contact to end. Keeping his arms over his eyes and face, he released another breath and tried to put his thoughts into words. "...I feel...pathetic," he finally admitted.

Namine blinked, her gaze lingering on Roxas. "Why?" she prodded gently. But she already believed that she knew the reason. Back at the fight, Roxas hadn't been able to do much of anything without his Keyblade. He had to stand by the sidelines and let her fight, and she was pretty inexperienced. It must have been unnerving.
"Because, Nam," Roxas said, letting his arms come down so he could open his eyes. He turned his head slightly to look at her, a frown on his face, though it was both from sadness and anger. "I stood there and watched you get hurt. That only made me want to use my Keyblade more, but I didn't have it. I couldn't do anything to help you." He felt weak, pathetic, useless, in the way. It was awful.
  • Author
"You watched my back when you could," Namine stated softly, giving Roxas credit where credit was due. "...And whether you know it or not, the only reason I was able to fight so well was because you were with me. It made me feel braver." And calmer, too. Roxas always seemed to have a situation in control. Even during the fight when he didn't have his Keyblade, he didn't panic. That allowed her to stay calm too and fight the best she could.
Roxas gazed at Namine for a moment, accepting that explanation, but... "I was so scared," he muttered, looking back up at the ceiling as he moved his hand to grasp hers that rested on his chest. He hadn't wanted her to get hurt, which was why he stepped in front of Larxene. But...Namine protected him instead of not, which only got her hurt in the end.

"I know you were," Namine said gently, shifting her gaze to Roxas's face. Me too. It seemed like everyone there was scared, since they were weaponless. Only she and Lightning could fight, and there were so many enemies. But she couldn't think about the outcome. All she could do was fight to protect everyone, especially Roxas. That was why she cast a shield in front of him and not herself.
"You shouldn't have protected me," Roxas admitted then, his eyebrows furrowing as he glared at the ceiling. "You should have let me take the hit." He could have handled it; he'd dealt with worse than knives before. Seeing Namine get hurt like that, and at his expense...it was a nightmare.
  • Author
"But...it could have been really bad," Namine said softly, her hand curling a little underneath Roxas's as she looked back to it. Thinking about it now, she realized that he may have been able to dodge the knives, but...But she couldn't stand by and let him get hurt. There was no way she could have known that Larxene would attack her and not Roxas again.
"It was bad," Roxas said then, closing his eyes. "For you." She took a hard hit that nearly scared him to death. He knew that if he was in Namine's shoes, he would have done the same, protecting her instead of himself. But...

Namine still didn't look up at Roxas's face. She didn't know how to respond to that. Yes, it was a bad hit, and it hurt a lot. That was undeniable. "I love you, Roxas," she said after a few moments of silence. "That's why I had to put your life before mine." She knew he wouldn't like hearing that, but it was the absolute truth.
