Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Oh, um..." Namine looked up at the sky, trying to think of where to start. "Well, I just started using Lightning's sword about three weeks ago, so I started learning sword fighting. And King Mickey started teaching me more advanced magic to attack with, since he said my defensive magic was...um...really good." She blushed faintly at the last part, not trying to brag.
Roxas fought the urge to smile, trying to remain serious. But it was hard when Namine blushed the way she was now. "He's right, you know," Roxas said, taking a few steps forward to stand beside Namine. "You were...great, the last time you used it. I didn't expect anything less." Namine took on Organization members without much help in the past. While it may have scared him to death, he was proud of her strength, and bravery.

"Thanks," Namine said shyly, looking over at Roxas beside her. Though he didn't say it just now, she could tell that he was proud of her from what he saw of her in the past. She was just glad she could use a sword now; it made her feel stronger. Especially since it was Lightning's sword. Lightning was somebody she really looked up to, since she was so physically strong and always in control of her emotions. That was what Namine wanted.
Roxas gazed at Namine for a moment, recognizing by the look in her eyes that she was shy. It made him smile faintly, his fight against it at a loss for now. He nodded to her before he got back to business. "Anyway," he started softly, "the reason why I offered to train you was because I know how Xion moves the best. I figured I could give you a few pointers." He did fight alongside her in the Organization for nearly a year, after all. He was the best one for the job.

"Oh," Namine said once she registered how casually Roxas said Xion's name. He wasn't heartbroken over what happened. Obviously, whether he was showing it or not, he was upset, but he wasn't moping like Namine was when he had the real reason to. "Okay." She was open to what he had to say.
Roxas looked away then, fighting the urge to show any sadness when it came to Xion as he stepped forward a few steps to distance himself briefly from Namine. He stopped by the water, looking out at it as he remembered that this spot was exactly where he stood in the past, when he was searching for his best friend. Pushing the memory aside, Roxas focused on the task at hand. "She's light on her feet," he started. "She's acrobatic, nimble. That alone gives her more of an advantage." He lowered his gaze to the water that washed in near his shoes, his eyebrows furrowing as he lifted a fist to his chest. "She'll taunt you until she gets what she wants, the rage in your heart. She won't stop until she can see it in your movements. When that happens, she knows you're fighting blindly, giving her yet another advantage to any fight she has."

Namine felt her concern growing with how Roxas spoke of Xion. At the same time, she already knew some of these facts, like how light on her feet Xion was. "So...what do I do?" she asked softly, looking away from Roxas's back to the ocean waves that were coming in. Roxas wasn't exactly putting things in an optimistic way.
"Stay calm for as long as you can," Roxas answered. "It'll turn the tables on her. She'll be the one to get aggravated and lose her temper." He glanced over his shoulder slightly at the girl he still loved. "You don't have a hard time with that, though. I know that much." Roxas knew Namine kept her cool in a lot of situations; she hardly ever panicked, which was good. Xion would hate it, which would give Namine the advantage instead.

Namine nodded faintly, looking down and clasping her hands nervously. But isn't she more dangerous that way? she thought, thinking back to the end of the last fight. She made Xion angry and she sent a lethal attack at her after the fight was over. Ticking Xion off wasn't something that Namine really wanted to do.
Roxas focused forward again, releasing a small breath. "Xion favors close-range attacks," he continued, his tone low as he remembered his past. "When I fought her in her different forms, she depended on magic to get her along. But...she doesn't have those powers anymore, at least not to that extent. She'll rely more on physical attacks." Roxas wasn't sure what trick Xion pulled back in Traverse Town, but it was something he hoped she didn't have more of. It could be lethal, and that was the last thing Namine needed.

Namine fiddled with her hands again. "I don't know much about blocking close attacks like hers," she said softly, not looking up. "Half of my training was just getting used to Lightning's sword." So if Roxas was going to train her instead of just offering tips, then it would be the most dangerous type of fighting there was: close combat.
"Then that's where we'll start," Roxas said with a small nod, turning around completely to face Namine. His eyebrows were furrowed in seriousness; he didn't like the fact that two people he loved--one different than how he remembered--had to fight each other. He didn't want anyone to get hurt, but it was out of his hands. All he could do was offer his assistance to the person that needed it, and that was Namine.

Namine bit her lip hard, nodding faintly as well. She didn't reach for her sword as she gazed down and over at the sand. Why on earth did I get so caught up in the conversation? I don't want to fight! She clasped her hands again, eyes softening. I can't fight anymore. She had no strength to.
Roxas looked at Namine for a moment, tilting his head slightly. "Nam," he called without thought, his heart skipping at the name. "You have to focus. I'll be coming at you like Xion will. You have to be ready to defend yourself." He didn't want to hurt her. That was the last thing he ever wanted to do. Then again, I did...by kissing Xion.

"O-okay," Namine stuttered, nodding faintly as well. Aware what she was doing was a nervous habit, she separated her hands and put one on the hilt of Light's weapon. But she wasn't focused like Roxas told her she had to be. Or rather, she was focused on the wrong thing. He was going to attack her seriously. He never would have done that in the past.
If I hurt you, I'll heal you. I promise, Roxas thought as he held out his hand, summoning Oblivion to his hand. He didn't want to hurt Namine, ever, but it was too late for that. He already had. At least if he hurt her physically, he could heal it and make it disappear. The marks he made on her heart wouldn't go away so easily.

Oblivion, not Oathkeeper, Namine thought as she eyed Roxas's weapon. Was there some significance behind that? She felt like there was, but she couldn't sort it out when her head was like this. She pulled out Light's weapon, eyes dancing over it as it transformed from its gun mode to a sword. She lowered it to her side, gripping it tightly with one hand before she looked over at Roxas. ...Okay.
Roxas set his footing, one hand out at his side as he held Oblivion at the ready. He then closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as Namine briefly disappeared from his sight. Please...please be ready, he internally begged. After a moment, Roxas opened his eyes, which were sharper, more focused than before. He then dug his foot into the sand and sprinted toward Namine, swinging when he was close enough.

Namine's eyes widened briefly, but her lessons with Lightning and Riku paid off quickly. In a matter of seconds she had her sword exactly where it needed to be, blocking Roxas's and protecting herself. That could have been bad, she thought, eyes darting to Roxas. That could have seriously hurt her.
Roxas made eye contact with Namine instantly, but his sight darted to the gunblade blocking his weapon. She did it, he thought. But...why was he surprised by that? Roxas's eyes found Namine's again, and he nodded. "Good," he grunted, but then he brought his weapon back and took a side-swipe at Namine, much like Xion did to him in the past.

Namine's eyes widened yet again. Caught off guard by Roxas's compliment and then sudden action, she wasn't ready to block the attack. A grunt left her lips when Roxas hit her side, the blonde stumbling in that direction. You're really not joking around, are you? she thought, fighting the urge to touch her aching side.
"Stay focused," Roxas warned, seeing the hesitation in Namine's eyes. She wanted to touch her aching wound, and as much as he hated seeing her hurting because of him, she needed to remember that he was doing this to help her. Roxas swung at Namine again, this time in a downward arch. Block it, Nam. Show me you can do this.

Namine stepped to the side to avoid the swinging Keyblade. "M-maybe this isn't such a good idea," she said, words coming out quickly. She lost her nerve after getting hit by just one attack. You're not brave anymore, and you're definitely not strong. What made you think you even had a chance at succeeding in anything that involves bravery and strength?
Roxas's grip on Oblivion turned slack at the words, the adrenaline he had suddenly built up for the session dwindling. "What?" he asked, eyebrows still furrowed, but this time in confusion. Namine wanted to stop? If it's about me hitting you...I'm sorry. But...I don't want you to give up.

"Y-yeah," Namine stumbled again, eyes on Roxas's Keyblade before she looked back up at him. "We shouldn't be doing this today." I'm not ready to fight again. I'm a coward. The voice in her head telling her the lies wasn't truly her; it sounded an awful lot like Xion telling her these things. That she wasn't brave, or strong, or worthy of Roxas's love. And she was starting to believe it.
