Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Roxas stood upright, lowering his Keyblade to his side. "...What do you mean?" he asked then, confused. Why was Namine being like this? She was all for training just a second ago. What changed?

"I mean what I just said," Namine said, eyebrows furrowing as she turned to the side. She loosened her grip on Lightning's sword, eyes down on it. She wasn't ready to fight again. She had no passion or fire within her urging her to fight. That fire was lost when she realized that she couldn't protect Roxas from Xion. She couldn't even protect herself.
"Is this...Is this about me hitting you just a second ago?" Roxas asked, eyes softening in concern. If that was the case... Roxas tilted Oblivion up slightly to cast a healing spell, watching curing herbs fall briefly over Namine's head before disappearing. Whatever pain he just caused her was gone now, but he knew that the emotional toll it must have had could be something he couldn't fix.
  • Author
"No," Namine said, shaking her head rapidly. "I just...I was wrong. We shouldn't be training. I can't fight." She wasn't capable of it. Even if she had all the magic and strength in all the worlds, her heart would hold her back like it was now. There was no desire to fight, not when she knew it wouldn't make any difference.
Roxas's eyes narrowed in suspicion, not buying that for a second. He knew Namine could fight; he saw her do it. "Why not?" he asked in question to her words. Why couldn't she fight him? Was it because it was him? He figured she would be able to fight him easily; he hurt her, so she should have been able to hurt him just as much.

Namine shook her head, dropping the sword into the sand. It laid in front of her feet, undisturbed. "Because," she said, lowering her head and letting her bangs cover her blue eyes. She wished she had her long hair right now; it was a better curtain than her short hair. But the only reason she had short hair was because of Xion...That knowledge hurt.
"Aren't you angry? Don't you want to fight back?" Roxas urged, looking down at Namine as she stood shorter than him. He had looked at the sword in the ground, and he wasn't the least bit happy she dropped it. Namine was giving up, and he despised that fact. "Are you really going to let Xion walk all over you?"
  • Author
Namine turned her head, surprised at the taunts. For that reason, her eyes were narrowed. But there was no spark ignited by Roxas's words; nothing even tempted her to pick up her sword again. Maybe I will let her walk all over me again, she thought in response to Roxas's question. It doesn't matter what I "let" happen. Some things happen whether you let them happen or not.
Roxas met Namine's narrowed eyes with sharp ones of his own. "She's going to kill you the next time she gets the chance," he said, voice cold, hard. He wasn't going to stand here and let it happen. Namine had to protect herself. What if nobody was there the next time?
  • Author
"Enough," Namine said softly without her expression changing. Her tone also reflected no change of heart. She already knew Xion would try to kill her next time she saw her. All that she could do was pray for a miracle--that somebody else would save her. Because she couldn't save herself. She was incapable of it.
"No," Roxas said, shaking his head as he allowed Oblivion to fade away. "This is not enough, Namine. It's not nearly enough." She had to fight back or she would lose her life. He wasn't ready to lose her completely; he already lost her as a girlfriend, and possibly a friend. If she left him permanently, Roxas wasn't sure what he would do.

Namine looked away without responding. Are you taking lessons from Riku or something? she thought as she looked at the ocean. Agitating me to try and get me to crack or something is one of Riku's tricks. I didn't think you'd ever adopt a tactic like that, especially with me. Roxas treated her like she was fragile, despite how she always tried to be strong. Now she understood why: She truly was fragile. Weak. Pathetic.
Roxas shook his head, moving a little closer to Namine. He lifted his hands to her face, being daring for the moment as he turned it to face him. "Nam..." he said again, his voice still firm but gentle at the same time. She had to care about herself, or she wouldn't save her own life.

Namine was shocked that Roxas lifted his hands to her face; it was something that she hadn't seen coming at all. Still, she didn't fight him as he turned her head towards him. She was incapable of even fighting this, not that she really wanted to in the first place. She still loved him, after all.
Roxas gazed at Namine in silence, his eyes softer now that they were making eye contact. She was strong for so long, but now she was reverting back to the days when he couldn't help but worry about her. Regardless, he still worried about her, but that was beside the point. "I didn't show it very well before, but..." Roxas found his voice leaving him when it really mattered, so he forced himself to talk more. He couldn't lose his voice now. "But...I still care about you. You know I do, or else I wouldn't be here. I want to help you survive, Namine, but I can't always be there. Neither can Riku, or Lightning, or Sora... You have to be ready for Xion, okay? None of us..." Roxas's hands fell from Namine's face slightly, but they still rested on her soft cheeks. "Nobody wants to see you fall to her. Not even me. I...I would never want to see that happen."
  • Author
Roxas being open with her was what made Namine soften up a little bit. "I can't fight," she said weakly, not shaking her head so that Roxas's hands stayed where they were. "Fighting doesn't even make a difference. I won, but I would have died if I didn't have the King's protection. Because I was too weak to truly end the fight." She squeezed her eyes shut, moisture gathering behind her eyelids. She was a coward because she couldn't kill. It wasn't that she chose not to; she wasn't capable of it. Her heart was weak.
"I don't think that was it," Roxas admitted with a small shake of his head. Namine didn't not kill Xion for that reason; she did it for something else. And...he had a feeling it was because of him. He didn't like to think that way, but it was just something he felt was correct.

Namine shook her head softly, keeping her eyes shut. "I had a few reasons, but still," she said quietly. A tear dripped out of one of her eyes, the rest held back. She didn't want to cry, even if she was already seen as weak. She was breaking when she couldn't afford to. Xion was waiting for this to happen, so that she could end her. Namine knew it but couldn't stop it from happening.
Roxas's expression fell apart at the sight of the single tear. His thumb instinctively moved to wipe it away, his hands continuing to rest on Namine's cheeks. "Namine..." he said softly, sadly. How could she think so lowly of herself? She had been so strong in the past, so sure of herself when she needed to be. What changed?

Namine's eyes squeezed shut harder. "I tried so hard to let you see Xion how you wanted to see her. I knew just how much she meant to you, and knew that you having her instead of me was better than seeing you grieve all the time. But I couldn't protect you from the truth, and now you have to grieve all over again." Her moist blue eyes opened as more tears dropped from them. "I'm so sorry, Roxas," she cried.
Roxas's lips parted in complete and utter shock, the boy not able to find the words to speak to make things better. For once, he couldn't. Roxas pulled Namine closer to him instantly, holding her tightly as one arm wrapped around her shoulders and the other hand lifted to the back of her head. Don't say that...

Namine started crying harder when Roxas held onto her, her head finding his shoulder. After a few moments, her arms weaved around him as well. "I'm so sorry," she choked out again, gripping Roxas's shirt with a balled fist. All that she wanted to do was help him recover from the loss of Xion, but when she returned, it turned into keeping Roxas from grieving again since his best friend was alive. But she failed miserably, and now Roxas was sad too. She couldn't do anything to protect him.
Roxas only held onto Namine more tightly at the apology, looking at her out of the corner of his eye. How could she feel sorry for him? He neglected her and kissed Xion in broad daylight, right in front of her. He was....awful. He deserved to grieve after what he'd done.

Pull it together, the voice in Namine's head ordered. You're weak enough as it is, and now you're crying? That's even more pathetic. The blonde tensed, swallowing as she tried to obey the voice in her head. She shouldn't have been crying, not in front of Roxas. But what was she supposed to do? She didn't even know anymore.
Roxas turned his head toward Namine's, the side of his face brushing her shorter hair. "I deserve everything I've gotten," he admitted then, his voice soft since they were so close. "You shouldn't have to deal with anything you've gone through lately. You're just..." Namine was too kind, too soft, too gentle, too amazing to receive anything less than kindness and happiness. What was going on... It was Roxas's fault.
