Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Love you," Roxas mouthed silently, winking at Namine before he rose to his feet. He glanced over at Xion and jerked his head toward the kitchen, starting in that direction. They had a lot of talking to do. He missed her.

Xion bit down on her lip, nodding faintly before heading in the direction Roxas motioned to. She already knew the room was the kitchen as she entered it, since she lived in this house ever since coming to the Islands. And she inflicted so much terror while she was here. I'm so sorry, she thought pathetically to Namine, and to Roxas. She didn't deserve the kindness they showed her. The girl sat down on a stool, not making eye contact with Roxas.
Roxas approached the fridge and grabbed two waterbottles, then making his way to the barstool next to Xion's. He sat down and passed the waterbottle to her, his eyes leaving it to find her face. The last time he saw her, her hair was so short compared to how long it was now. Her features were more defined as well. Xion was beautiful, Roxas had to admit that. He wasn't surprised that he was attracted to her in the past. But...she wasn't Namine, and never would be.

Xion looked up at Roxas's face only briefly, nodding her thanks before she looked to the water bottle and wrapped her hand around it without opening it. It was cold, just like her heart had been. "I'm really glad that you two are still together, despite all that I did," she said softly, obviously referring to Roxas and Namine. She caught that moment of intimacy in the living room, whether she was meant to or not. It was great to see Roxas loving someone, even if that someone wasn't her.
Roxas shrugged slightly, trying to shake off how awkward he suddenly felt talking about Namine to Xion. "We've had a really rough past," he admitted softly. "We can get through anything." They always did, as long as they had each other. They would never lose the other, either. Roxas and Namine loved each other. That was never going to change.

"I'm glad," Xion said quietly. However, her eyes immediately widened when she realized what she said. "T-that you can get through anything," she sputtered. "Not that you've gone through hardship." Of course she didn't mean that. She wasn't that heartless, not anymore. She was herself again, and her true self cared deeply for her friends. Even if she only met Namine briefly in the past, she had considered her a friend.
Roxas had his arms resting on the countertop, his hands gripping his waterbottle. He leaned forward a little, trying to see more of Xion's face as he tilted his head to the side. I know, he thought, eyebrows furrowing in worry. "Xion...what happened to you?" he asked softly. Where did she go after she disappeared? And how did Vexen find her? What did he do to make her such a monster?

"Long story short, I did die a few years ago after our fight," Xion started softly, staring at the water bottle. "But I was a manufactured puppet, so I could be rebuilt. When Vexen recreated me about a month before I found you, I was my true self. He changed that, obviously. He found whatever emotion was strongest and twisted it. Obviously my strongest feelings were for you, since you were my best friend. So, he changed me to be vindictive, spiteful, cruel, and desperate enough for your love that I would destroy your group of friends from the inside."
Roxas's eyebrows furrowed at that, and he turned his head to glare at the countertop. So...it's my fault then? he thought suddenly. I'm the reason Namine was hurt so badly, and why Xion was turned into a monster? She said it was because of her feelings for him, so how couldn't that be it?
  • Author
Xion shook her head without looking over. "It's my fault," she said bitterly. "Not that I could help it. I'm just a puppet that bends easily to the will of others. I didn't have a chance against Vexen. And once he found out I was back to normal, he knew he couldn't change me back. That was why he tried confronting Namine; she was the only one who could break and remold my heart like Vexen wanted." But despite all Xion did to her, Namine didn't hurt her purposely. Xion hadn't guessed Namine was so brave, but compassion was a trait she always knew the blonde had.
"Despite what happened," Roxas started, staring at the counter, "she's kind enough to still put you first." He turned his head to look at Xion, his eyebrows still furrowed. "That's the Namine I've always known. It's good to know that nothing's changed her. I...I don't think I could handle that." He lost Xion in the past, and if he lost Namine... Roxas fought the urge to shudder. That would be a nightmare.

"I can see why you love her," Xion said with a nod, setting another hand on the water bottle. Still, she didn't bother turning the cap. "She's strong in her convictions. Her will is unbendable. ...I envy her for that. She's much stronger than I am, whether she realizes it or not." And that was the honest truth. Xion would gladly trade her physical strength for Namine's strong will.
Roxas reached over, placing a hand on Xion's arm. "You're your own person, Xion," he stated softly. "You realize that, right?" She wasn't just a puppet anymore. Nobody was pulling her strings and making her do dirty deeds. She had control of herself now; she had freedom. As soon as Xion realized that, she could gain that strength she wished for.
  • Author
"No, I don't," Xion said honestly as she shook her head and focused on Roxas's words instead of his touch. "Not yet. And not while I'm still manipulated by the circumstances Vexen created through me. I won't truly be free until I set things right." She didn't even know where to start, though. She supposed that apologizing to Roxas now would be a good start.
Roxas found himself speechless at the explanation, so he only stared at Xion. He guessed she had a point; Vexen still had things programmed in her, from what Roxas gathered. Xion was right. If she still had all that in her, she wasn't herself. And Roxas wanted nothing more than to have his best friend back, completely.

"I'll set things right here on the Islands somehow, then I'll leave," Xion declared, finally looking over at Roxas despite her guilt. She needed him to know that she was serious. "That's how it needs to be." Her feelings for Roxas weren't nearly as intense as Vexen made them out to be; she had only a tiny crush on him back then. He was her best friend, nothing more. And out of respect for her best friend and his loved one, she needed to butt out of his life.
"What?" Roxas asked, blinking. Xion couldn't leave...not after she just came back. He wanted his best friend to stick around for a while, to have fun with him and eat ice cream like they used to. He still had to reunite her with Axel too...

"I've caused too much destruction, Roxas," Xion said as she faintly shook her head and withdrew her arm out from underneath his. "That's what my existence has always been centered around. Nothing's changed. For that reason, I'll stay away so you guys can be happy and safe." Though it was pessimistic logic, it was the truth.
"But...you can't!" Roxas said, keeping his voice at a reasonable level, since Namine could have been sleeping in the next room. "We just got you back!" Xion couldn't take off like that! She tried doing that in the past, but Roxas never stopped trying to bring her back home. Everyone was reunited again... Why couldn't she stick around, at least for a little while to have some fun?
  • Author
"Believe me, I'm glad to be back," Xion said with a weak, sad smile. "I got to see that all my friends became great Keyblade Masters. And I got to see that you're happy. That's what matters now, that you guys continue on happily. I'll only drag you down." She needed to get away, to try and find her purpose for existing. She had to have one other than the one Vexen gave her.
"Only if you think you will," Roxas said with a small shake of his head, a frown set on his lips. Xion was serious about leaving, and that bothered him a bit. "People change, Xion. We know that you have, and you'll only get better. You should stay...so we can help." She was his best friend. He would help if he could, and so would Riku; he remembered her from his past too.
  • Author
"I don't think Riku is so sure," Xion pointed out. She looked down at the table, thinking. "I'll consider it Roxas, really. But...I need to figure out what my purpose in life is. There has to be more to this puppet's life than just serving people like Vexen." And Xemnas, she added mentally. Xemnas used her in the past too.
"Mm," Roxas hummed softly, nodding a little. I understand, he thought silently, turning his head to look back down at his waterbottle, which still hadn't been opened. He would let Xion decide, but...she knew what he thought of the situation. As angry as she made him, and as much as she frightened him recently, he knew his best friend was in there. He didn't want to lose her again.

Xion finally opened her water, taking a few sips of it now that silence lingered in the air. "I'm sorry, by the way," she added softly once she was done drinking. She was sorry for everything wretched that she had done lately and all the pain that she had inflicted. There were no words to express the guilt she felt for it all.
Roxas continued to stare at his water, hearing the apology and being reminded of all that had happened. Namine being attacked in Twilight Town, getting hit by Darkness in Traverse Town... He had to run to catch her from falling from the bridge at Beast's Castle. It was all terrifying. "...Mm," he hummed softly, not knowing what else to say.
