Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku stayed where he was, his growl remaining as he watched Lightning. He didn't know about Serah, but he was beyond ticked that Lightning would go this far. She should have known that they came with her out of their own will; they wanted to be here to support her and help her. She wasn't giving them that chance, and it hurt.

Serah noticed Lightning's ears press low against her head once she was turned away and her whole body seemed to have the posture of defeat. That made her growl soften. No matter how idiotic Lightning was for leading them on this chase, she was just scared. The fear was starting to control her. Her eyes softened as she looked at Riku, who didn't look like he was going to calm down anytime soon. Surely he wasn't happy Lightning faced away from him either, so she wondered what he was going to do now.
Riku realized Lightning's posture screamed guilt and defeat, but it didn't soften his anger. He approached her, looking at her as he stood beside her. "You shouldn't turn your back to me," he advised. "You know I don't like that." He wouldn't hurt her; she should have known he would never do that. He had just been so scared...

Despite Riku's words, Lightning automatically turned herself away from him again. Not completely, but enough that he couldn't see her face. What did he want her to say? Sorry I tried to ditch you, but I'm just scared to death that I'll lose you in a fight you don't even belong in? He wouldn't take those words well.
Riku felt his anger controlling him, and he moved without thought. He tackled Lightning to the floor, straddling her as he growled in her face. "Lightning, stop it! Stop shutting me out!" he ordered, snapping. She wasn't herself anymore! What was going on?

Lightning's blue eyes shone with surprise, as did Serah's as the latter called out Riku's name in protest. Light, however, was too stunned to respond. Don't you get it? her eyes screamed as she looked up at the wolf. I'm terrified! She was terrified of facing Caius alone and just as terrified at the idea of facing him with Riku and Serah. Her death was one thing, but losing them was another. She couldn't let that happen.
Riku's snarl lessened as he registered the look in Lightning's eyes, his growl slowly dying as his gaze softened. The fear in Lightning's eyes was most prominent, as was the hesitance. It was Caius....he knew it was. The cave was silent now as only the fire cackled, the young wolf remaining atop his beloved as he looked down at her. She was...scared. That was why she was unlike herself...

Lightning looked away from Riku when silence filled the cave, the young woman knowing that he caught onto what she was feeling just by her eyes. Her ears were pressed low against her head still, but at least she didn't whimper. Little did she know that Serah was having a hard time holding back her whimpers, since she was so unused to seeing Lightning so scared. Serah was beginning to inherit her fear now that it was so clear.
Riku didn't know what to do, so he did what came naturally. He bent his head, nuzzling his face against Lightning's as he closed his eyes. "I...I'm sorry," he whined softly. If he had known that fear drove her, he would have reacted differently. He thought she was doing this because...well, because she didn't want his and Serah's support. But was the fear what drove that?

Light shut her eyes at Riku's nuzzling, not immediately responding. She was ten times more sorry than he was, but she wasn't prepared to go into that conversation when she felt so vulnerable. "Let's just sleep," she said softly. They were going to have a long day tomorrow.
Riku agreed, silent as he stopped nuzzling Lightning's face and stepped away from her. She already had the fire going, so he imagined they could go ahead and get settled. He turned to look at Serah, silently apologizing for the scene as he nodded to her. He planned on keeping watch, to make sure nothing bothered them tonight. Serah and Lightning could rest.

Serah nodded faintly to Riku but then shifted her gaze to Lightning, who picked herself up before she laid back down again. She was facing away from her and Riku and was curled up in a tight ball. Serah whined into the air before getting in a similar position on the other side of the fire. This was a huge mess and they hadn't even met Caius yet. How could things get more tense than this?
Riku glanced at the two girls before he made his way to the mouth of the cave. He sat down just inside of it, watching the rain as it fell without mercy. He was sure Caius wouldn't show mercy either, considering how hard he was on Lightning the last time. Why would they fight, though? Riku didn't understand...

While both girls had trouble falling asleep, at least Serah was able to remain still enough to make Lightning believe that she was asleep. Light, on the other hand, couldn't keep herself still at all. She was so restless that she nearly rolled into the fire once when she was re-positioning herself for the twentieth time. She picked herself up and then plopped down against on her stomach, head between her legs. She doubted she was going to get any sleep at all at this rate.
Riku turned around when he heard the movement, seeing that Lightning was restless. She had been moving for the past hour or so, and he decided it was time he tried to help. The rain continued falling as he made his way back to her, lying down beside her and lowering his head to lick at the side of her face. She needed to rest for the fight that was coming.

Lightning sighed deeply when Riku joined her and kissed her. She definitely didn't deserve him. Here he was with her, trying to comfort her in her misery while he was surely upset as well about how quickly the tides changed. Yesterday he was thrilled at Sora and Kairi's wedding. Today he wasn't experiencing any moments of happiness at all. She whined in sorrow for his sake, shutting her eyes as well. I'm so so sorry.

Riku continued licking at Lightning's head, hearing that whine and wanting it to go away. He probably caused half of the pain she was going through. "Go to sleep, baby," he silently told her, nuzzling his head against hers. She needed to rest.

"Stay," Light requested, speaking for the first time in a long time. She kept her eyes shut as she leaned towards Riku's head, his warmth more important to her than the warmth the fire provided. She wanted him close, because this could have been the last chance they had to sleep in close quarters. There was no telling what tomorrow would bring.
Riku heard the request and followed it, nuzzling his head against Lightning's again. He would stay next to her for as long as he could; they didn't have as much time together as he imagined. He planned on working on his own proposal now that Sora's and Kairi's wedding was done. But...now there was a possibility of him not getting the chance.

Lightning readjusted herself at Riku's silent response, just because. She knew he was staying but she wanted to enforce it. So she laid on her side and leaned against his, her head by his and leaning against him. That was the most comfortable she had been since they got here. Yet there were still so many things that she wanted to say to him...But the words wouldn't form when she was so tired and worn down. It really was time to rest.
Riku kissed Lightning's head one last time before he rested as well, letting his head fall so it was next to Lightning's. He released a small sigh before closing his eyes, taking in the feel of Lightning against him and near him. This wouldn't be in a few days, he was sure. Something...terrible could happen, and tear them apart...

The Next Day

No matter how many times Lightning was in the Realm of Darkness, she could never get used to the feeling of weakness she experienced there. She, Riku, and Serah just made it there a little while ago by passing through the wall between Realms. For some reason, Serah came to more quickly than Lightning did. And she didn't seem as affected by the place either. Maybe she had an immunity to the Darkness or something. Lightning sure that she herself didn't as she sat on the ground with her head lowered. She had to pull it together.

Riku was knelt down beside Lightning as she got herself together, but his eyes were searching the area. He knew their route from here, and he didn't sense any threats nearby. But in the Realm of Darkness, trouble was never far. "...We have to get moving," he said, his hand on Lightning's back. They couldn't stall any longer, or else they would be ambushed.

Serah glanced over at Riku and Lightning, but she quickly looked away. She felt like she didn't belong here with them; sometimes it was like they were in their own little world. It didn't help that Lightning was still mad at Serah, but still...She felt oddly left out. Again she was sorry for her stubbornness.

Lightning nodded faintly, glancing at Riku, then Serah, and then at the path ahead. "I'll lead." She believed that somehow, she'd find the path to Caius. He'd call her to him like he had done in her dreams. Besides, she got a mental snapshot of a place last night in her dreams...She believed that was where she'd find the gate to Valhalla. She just hoped it wasn't too far away from here.

Riku stepped away from Lightning then, rising to his feet as he allowed Lightning to do what she wished. He wasn't sure what their goal was, other than to find Caius. But Riku got the chilling feeling that Caius would find them above all else...
