Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku gazed at the warrior, hoping to see blue eyes. What he met were green, and he took the bottle in silence. He popped the top and took a swig instantly, sensing the warrior's impatience. Once he swallowed the red liquid, he felt a difference in him. His blood felt warmer, somehow. Regardless, he handed the bottle back to the warrior and nodded. Whatever she gave him, he assumed it would help him move faster. Riku would do his best.

Rose nodded faintly and took the bottle back before she turned around and started at a light run. Those two would need to keep up with her, no matter how tired they were from facing Caius earlier. As soon as they reached a safe place, they could rest all they liked. Until then though, Rose kept her two blades criss-crossed on her back, ready to take them at any moment to fight off enemies.
Riku glanced at Serah briefly before he started after the warrior, moving at her pace. He kept up easily despite his weaknesses and exhaustion; clearly the potion he drank worked its magic. Regardless, he followed in silence, hearing Serah's footsteps beside him. Where were they even going?

Eventually, Rose led the two to her "hideout". It wans't much of a hideout since Caius knew every inch of Valhalla. But he didn't know this was the place she chose as her sanctuary, so that was good enough for her. She led the two inside and shut the door behind them before focusing on the magic she felt in the air. Her protection spells hadn't weakened since she established this place, so it would be safe even now with these two additions. ...I can't believe it's really them.
By the time Riku and Serah reached the small hideout with the warrior, the potion Riku had had worn off. He felt like he could collapse at any minute, so he made his way to the nearest chair and sat down, feeling like a wimp. Caius didn't mess around, that was for sure. Riku would have to be stronger the next time they fought. He had to avenge Lightning.

"Um...excuse me..." Serah managed, standing behind Riku's chair as she watched the female warrior turn in her place to face them. "...But...Who are you?" She saved her and Riku, and she was really grateful for that, but that didn't make her question any less significant. Who was this woman who nearly killed Caius today in one blow?

Rose didn't answer immediately. When was the last time she actually spoke words? She hadn't said a single word to Caius as to not give away her identity. But with these two and the armor, she didn't have to worry so much. "...Rose," she finally said, voice different from her original because of the helmet she wore. She was Rose.

Riku lifted his gaze to Rose, nodding his thanks. He was grateful for her intrusion. He thought he would lose Serah on top of losing her sister...his beloved. At the thought, he lowered his eyes to the floor, then closing them. Light... He wouldn't break down in front of Serah; he needed to be strong for her. He would mourn Lightning's death in silence.

"You were her family," Rose said aloud, sure that the two by the furniture would know who she was referring to. It was Serah who nodded and dared to ask Rose the question that she both hoped to answer and dreaded at the same time.

"Is Lightning alive?" Serah asked, tightening her grip on the chair. Caius said that she was gone, but Serah still didn't quite believe it. The whole thing was surreal. It had been a year since Lightning got here...? Or a year since she was killed? She kept her eyes on Rose, seeing her look around as if to see if anyone was watching or listening. Serah's heart leaped for joy when she saw Rose nod faintly. So Lightning was alive!

Riku had looked up at the question, and when he saw Rose's response, he blinked. "...What?" he whispered. How was that possible? What about what Caius said? He claimed Lightning was dead! If Rose knew if she was alive, she had to have known where she was, right? "...Do you know where she is?"

Rose shook her head in silence. She didn't know where Lightning was today. She knew what happened to her, but not where she was. Again, she cautiously looked towards a closed window. Even if it was open, nobody would have been able to hear them. Her spells made this whole area silent to any who didn't enter with her. It was hard not to be careful after everything though.
Riku hesitated before nodding slightly. He guessed the fact she was alive beat out the news of her whereabouts. He released a small breath before looking back at Serah. At least Lightning was alive... That was all that mattered now. He and Serah had to find her soon, when they recovered.

Serah glanced down at Riku when he looked back at her. She was relieved, truly...But she was still really concerned about her sister. "What about Caius?" she asked softly. "He insisted that she was dead." He had Riku convinced of it before Rose said otherwise.

Rose turned away, grabbing both of her light-weight swords and twirling them aimlessly through the air as she told the tale. "One year ago--almost to this exact day--Lightning appeared in Valhalla. She and Caius battled relentlessly until, at last, Lightning realized that she couldn't conquer the Guardian of the Timeline." She looked over at both Riku and Serah, tossing one blade in the air and then catching it casually. "She needed time to discover his weakness, but time was not her ally. It never was."

"So what'd she do?" Riku asked, eyebrows furrowing. Lightning set out to find Caius's weakness, sure, but did she ever find it? What happened to her? That was what he wanted to know. If Lightning wasn't dead, he wanted to go find her. Of course, that wouldn't be possible right now; he was too weak for that.

Rose put the blades onto her back again and looked at both eager listeners. "She conspired with Etro, the goddess whom she serves," she continued. "She formulated a plan to falsify her death. I was brought in as a replacement warrior while Lightning does whatever she needs to do in order to discover Caius's weaknesses. She will return at the right moment in time." Hopefully. There was a bit of the story that she left out, not connected to her doubts.
Riku leaned back into his chair, crossing his arms over his chest. "Any suggestions on what we should do until she gets back?" he asked. He didn't know how to open any gates, and he doubted they would be leaving without Lightning. So what did they do in the meantime?

"You two will rest here for a few days," Rose said, folding her arms across her golden armor. "If I survive the next few fights against Caius, you can join me when you're fully recovered." They weren't fighting a minute sooner.

"If you survive?" Serah repeated, finally going to her own seat. She was still close to Riku, just because...Well, she was protective of him. He was the only man Lightning trusted romantically. If anything happened to him, it'd be tragic.

Rose nodded faintly. "When Caius is not in Valhalla battling me, he searches the timeline," she said. "My identity in the world of mortals is hidden from him, so he has no past to use against me. He seeks my weakness while I seek his. My hope is that I am able to defeat him before he discovers my identity."

"So you're on the same mission Lightning is?" Riku checked, making sure he was gathering this correctly. "If that's the case, why didn't you help her?" And as for him recovering for a few days, that was wrong. He would take the night, and then go fight. He didn't need a few days.

"I've never met Lightning," Rose said. "I only know the occurrences of her time in Valhalla because of the goddess telling me. I've also been told to trust the warrior's judgment and allow her to do her work while I buy her more time." She needed time to study Caius more emotionally and Rose was studying him physically to see where he was vulnerable in battle. She was having little luck.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed slightly, but he didn't argue. "Makes sense," he said with a small nod. "But one thing I have to disagree with." He uncrossed his arms, setting a hand on the table he was at. "I don't need a few days to rest. Give me a night and I'll be fine. We don't have time to waste moping around anyway." He wanted to be out and helping with what he could.

"I'll decide that," Rose said. She looked away from Riku and Serah, knowing there was one more bit of information that she had to bring up. "...One more detail," she started in a lower tone. "...Lightning's fake death. Her plan didn't go the way that she originally intended. She was critically wounded in the process of it." It was a miracle that she made it out alive at all. It was Etro that saved her, though the Lightning Riku and Serah knew would have hated to confess that.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed at the first part of Rose's response, not liking the fact that a stranger would be deciding when he was or wasn't fit to fight. Regardless, he listened to what she had to say. "And?" he prodded lowly, wanting to know more. Lightning was wounded, but what else happened? How critical was her injury?

Rose practically felt the pain of Lightning's wound then, imagining with great accuracy how Caius's blade pierced her torso. He tried to send her to a world of dreams, but as Lightning faded into the chaos, Etro saved her."...It's something she'll have to share with you someday," she said as she shook her head. "If she didn't believe in miracles before, she did after she survived that attack."
Riku's eyes narrowed slightly as he studied Rose. Something felt...off here. Rose just told them she didn't know Lightning, but she was talking about her like she was an old friend. She knew so much about her, but even he knew that the Goddess wouldn't explain anything into this much detail. Something was going on here, and Riku didn't like it.

"You have a moogle trailing you," Rose pointed out, looking at the creature that had been hovering silently by Serah for a long time. She hadn't cared about him much--Just Riku and Serah. They didn't know why she cared yet, but someday they would.

"Yeah," Serah said with a small nod, glancing at the moogle. "He sort of just...appeared. He hasn't left me alone since he found me." It was so peculiar and random, especially since she didn't know moogles existed until this one appeared in front of her.

I figured as much, the warrior thought, staring at the moogle with serious eyes. "Come with me," she said, starting toward a set of stairs. "I'll instruct you on how to utilize him in battle." That was all moogles were really good for, other than talking off an enemy's ear and driving them to the brink of insanity.

Riku looked to Serah then. "You go," he said softly. He would stay here. "I need to sit down for a while." The fight with Caius really wore him out. There was a couch nearby; he would rest on that until Serah was done. He needed to regain his strength.
