Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Rose noticed Serah nod and come over, with the moogle close behind. "There's a bedroom down the hall," she said. Obviously that was Riku's cue to go rest back there if he had to rest somewhere. She started up the stairs after that with the two others following her. It was time for Serah's training to begin.
Riku looked to Rose when she spoke, but once she was gone, he dragged himself out of the chair and started down the hall. Sure enough, there was a bedroom like Rose said. He approached it in silence, sitting down on it before reclining onto his side. He sighed at the comfort it brought him, closing his eyes as he tried to rest. The exhaustion kicked in almost immediately, and despite Riku's racing thoughts, he found himself dozing off within minutes. When he woke, he would consider their options. Until then, Riku needed to recover.

Rose sat at a table the next morning, helmet on like it always was. She hadn't slept last night because she was thinking about Riku and Serah. They didn't register yet who she was. But of course they didn't; she was completely different. She changed her patterns of speech, personality, battle tactics...everything important. All for the sake of a war that she didn't originally want to be a part of. She stared down at the table with green eyes, certain that Serah at least was still asleep after the long training session they had last night with Mog.
Riku decided when he woke up that morning that he was going to look for Lightning; like he said, he only needed one night of rest to recover. He made his way out to the kitchen, where he expected Rose. Sure enough, she was there. Riku stayed where he was, near the doorway, as he gazed at her. She was so... He couldn't really find the words. Something about her was setting him off, but he tried not to let it show. "...I need to find Lightning," he declared. Riku couldn't go another day without trying to find her. If she was alive, he wanted to see her.

Rose blinked in surprise, looking up at Riku. "Absolutely not." Lightning wasn't in a place where she could be found right now, and she had no desire to be discovered. If Caius knew that she was alive, then he'd change his current course of action. Rose couldn't have that now since she was beginning to understand a little bit more how he was.
"I didn't ask for permission," Riku said with a small shake of his head. He was going after Lightning whether Rose liked it or not. He trusted her to take care of Serah while he was gone, not that he would be gone too long. Valhalla was only so big, and he couldn't create gates. He would be back before dusk.

Rose stood up, setting her hands on the table as she stared at Riku. "Lightning doesn't want to be discovered," she reminded him. "If Caius discovered that she was alive, she would lose what little advantage she has over him." On the day that Lightning returned, she would have surprise on her side. But not if Riku revealed that she was alive right now to Caius.
"Like I'm gonna tell him," Riku said, eyebrows furrowing. He wasn't that much of an idiot; sometimes he questioned his own actions, but they got the job done most of the time. "And how do you know what Lightning wants? You don't even know her." Rose said so herself, which led Riku to believe something else was going on here. Something suspicious.

No, I don't know her. Not anymore, Rose agreed. "Etro told me that along with the plan," she stated to Riku. It was a part of a make-believe story, but she was starting to think of it as true. Frankly, it scared her how she split herself so that she wasn't so connected to the situation. If Riku knew how it truly was...She wasn't sure what he'd say. One thing was for sure though: he hadn't changed since Lightning saw him last.
Riku frowned, not liking to hear the Goddess's name. He may not have known who the Goddess was, but she screwed up his and Lightning's lives, which they were supposed to spend together. "Screw what Etro said," he spat, crossing his arms over his tattered clothes and looking away. "She isn't my Goddess. I'll do what I please."

"She's Lightning's goddess," Rose declared. "Give her some respect for that." Lightning chose to serve Etro despite how she despised being ordered around by divine beings. Riku should have at least realized that if Lightning was willing to do that, then it was the right thing to do.
Riku lifted his eyes to Rose again, not seeing anything but her eyes. Lightning's goddess... He looked away again, now silent. That he did have to respect, but he wasn't happy about it. He wanted to find the woman he loved right away.

"I know you have questions," Rose said, standing completely upright. "Unfortunately I don't have all the answers. However, I should go seek Caius." They battled every day, and every fight ended when they realized they didn't have the stamina to deal a critical blow. One of them always disappeared from the field of battle and reappeared the next day. "Stay here with Lightning's sister. I'm certain she would appreciate that far more than finding her."
Riku closed his eyes. Lightning... "Right," he said lowly, keeping his position against the wall. He would stay, for Serah and for Lightning. But when he got the chance, he would still go search for Lightning. Serah needed her more than she needed him. Family was always important to the two sisters.

Rose registered the defeated position and a distant part of her wanted to comfort him. But she didn't. "Stay," she reminded him. "Hopefully I will return by the end of the day." If not, well...It was nice to see him again. She curled her hands into fists before she started to the door. It was time to fight once again.
Riku opened his eyes, watching Rose's back. "Be careful out there," he told her lowly. She was his and Serah's only ally right now, apart from Lightning. If Rose was killed, Riku wasn't sure what he and Serah would do. It sucked that he was so lost in all this, but he wouldn't get any answers without Rose. That much he knew.

Rose nodded faintly to recognize Riku's comment. He wanted her to be careful, but not for the same reason he would want Lightning to be careful. She carefully stepped outside and shut the door behind her. Riku and Serah would be safe there. This was all that she could do for them right now. She mentally apologized for a million reasons before she headed deeper into the city.

A few hours later

Riku didn't follow Rose's completely; he did stay with Serah, but only for a little while. He couldn't just sit around and wait for Lightning to show up anymore. He had to go find her himself. And now, he found himself in a temple, his hands free of his weapon for now. He didn't sense any threats...but he did sense someone familiar. "Lightning," he whispered, continuing forward when he stopped at a small crossroads. He moved up a set of stairs before walking through a doorway, seeing a crystal throne ahead. Etro? he thought silently, eyebrows furrowing as he walked into the light. This was her throne...

Rose had seen a shadow in the buildings, so she followed the source to the top of the temple. She hid behind some of the pillars, hearing Riku whisper the name of his beloved. She could smack him for that. But she was also hesitant to make her presence known as she stared at the throne. In a lot of ways, she hated Etro. Even more though, she hated the vision she always had when she looked at the throne. She saw Lightning sitting there, frozen in crystal. It wasn't a reality, but someday it could have become true.
Riku stared at the throne in silence, his eyebrows furrowed as he gazed at the place where the Goddess once sat. She was Lightning's ruler now, was that it? Lightning governed her own life, and Riku knew she wouldn't have it any other way. "...Lightning's here," he said lowly. "Somehow." Her presence lingered here, if anything, and that made Riku feel a little better. At least she was alive.

You are a complete idiot, Rose wanted to say as she started over towards Riku. But she kept her mouth shut. Caius believed that she was a mute warrior, and she preferred to keep it that way. That was why she hadn't spoken out in public yesterday, and why she wasn't going to speak to Riku today. She'd have to intimidate him into going back to the hideout.

"So the warrior's presence lingers here..."

Riku grunted, his aquamarine eyes darting around the area as he searched for the source of the voice. Of course, he didn't have to look for long; Caius appeared on Etro's throne, one leg propped up on the chair. "You!" he said, summoning his Keyblade to his hand instantly.

"We meet again, Riku," Caius said with a faint nod. "But...I believe I should be expecting my fated rival soon, isn't that right?" He smirked, studying the boy's expression. "You said so yourself. Lightning still lives."

  • Author
Complete idiot, Rose thought again. Now Caius knew the truth. But Caius and Riku didn't notice her somehow. It made sense; she was still in the shadows of the pillars. Etro give me strength. She backed up a small step to be more hidden again, though her swords found their way into her hands. Perhaps she could surprise him somehow. Maybe today could be the day Caius Ballad perished forever.

"So what if she does?" Riku challenged, keeping his blade at the ready as he stood in his stance. If Caius made any move... Riku couldn't take him on; he nearly died yesterday. He wasn't strong enough yet to battle Caius. "She's getting stronger, that way you can finally die."

Caius chuckled. "Lightning can try her hardest, but the Goddess's heart rests within my chest, granting me eternal life." He shook his head. "I cannot die. But you mortals... You are like toothpicks, easily breakable. Your lives are inferior."

He's telling Riku this because he doesn't think Riku will make it out of here alive! Rose realized quickly. And he just revealed the weakness that Rose had been looking for. A heart that granted him immortal life. ...Etro's heart? She was so confused. If he had Etro's heart, why was he her enemy?
