Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning nearly rolled her eyes at Riku. The temper she once had threatened to come back, and in a way, it did. "Here's what's different," she said to him as he began to leave her sight. "I learned not to walk away from my problems." That was what Riku was doing now. He didn't face things head on like she did now. They always used to walk away from each other in fights, and apparently he kept that habit even now.

"Then I guess it sucks I haven't changed," Riku called, going up the stairs two at a time. He left the woman he loved with those words, not caring if they hurt. Not right now. He just needed a second to himself, to think about things and maybe break something. His temper was getting the best of him.

"No," Lightning said, just loud enough that Riku should have been able to hear her as she stopped at the bottom of the stairs. There was just one more thing she had to say. "It sucks that I have." She turned around and started towards the front door so that she could leave, once more proving that she wasn't the same person as before. When Riku walked away in the past, she stayed. When she did the walking, he stayed. This time, they both were leaving or so it appeared. She didn't like who she was but there was no time for change in this war.
You're right. It does, Riku thought bitterly. He reached the second floor and saw the training room, which was clearly something Lightning had to create herself. He saw a target that had taken a lot of damage, but it could take a little more. That would be his next victim, the young man summoning his Keyblade. It was his turn to let out some anger.

A few hours later

Serah missed out on the argument between Riku and Lightning because she had been asleep, and when she asked Riku where Lightning was, his responses were short and snippy. So she let him be but paced the living room for a long time. Lightning shouldn't have gone out on her own. And she should have been back by now. She wished Riku would just come downstairs and tell her what was going on...

Riku managed to take out his anger, but only some of it. He was still fuming when he went downstairs, though he stopped short when he saw Serah pacing up and down the living room. "...What're you doing?" he asked, lifting an eyebrow. He knew Lightning was probably gone by this point, and judging by the atmosphere, she was. He wasn't surprised by that.

Serah stopped pacing and glanced at Riku, giving him a look. "Lightning's still gone." Riku told her that he thought she left a long time ago, and if that was true, Serah was even more worried. She shouldn't have been out alone for so long, even if she lived a year of her life fighting Caius by herself. It wasn't right for her to do this now that Serah and Riku were here...
"...And you're surprised because...?" Riku prodded with a small wave of his hand. He wasn't, not at all. Lightning was doing what she wanted, and while he wasn't okay with it, he trusted her to get there and back when she pleased. He was worried, sure, but he had faith that she would get back.

Serah's eyes narrowed at Riku's apathy. "If you don't care enough to go look, I will," she declared. She also gave him a look of disbelief, but it showed even more disbelief than it had a moment ago. What's the matter with you? Why don't you care? Riku slept next to Lightning last night and now he didn't seem to care that she was gone for a long time. It didn't make sense.
Riku lifted a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, the young man closing his eyes. "Look," he started lowly. "Lightning and I got into it earlier. She's doing what she wants. Going out and finding her isn't going to do anything but tick her off." He lowered his hand, looking to Serah. "She wants us to stay here and be safe." Especially you, he thought. He had to protect Serah.

"I don't care what she wants," Serah declared firmly. "Her safety is more important than giving her the freedom to do whatever she wants." Riku should have been right there along with her, whether he was in the middle of a fight against Lightning or not. It was petty that he let his anger stop him from searching for her.
Riku gazed at Serah for a moment, deciding silently that she was right in that aspect. Lightning shouldn't have been able to go out and do what she wanted all the time, but...could they really stop her? She wasn't the same as she once was. "Well if you go, I'm coming with you," he declared lowly. He needed to protect Serah.

Serah was pleased that Riku finally decided to do something, but he was doing it for the wrong reasons. He was coming for her sake, not Lightning's. ...Beggars can't be choosers, I guess. She nodded faintly and saw Mog come flying over, ready to get a move on. They weren't about to go anywhere though.

The door opened then, and in came Lightning. She was still wearing the golden armor, but the helmet was off. There was a small, bleeding cut on her lower jaw that she chose to ignore for the time being. She looked around the room and saw Riku and Serah there, and neither of them looked pleased. What, was everyone against each other now?

Riku's eyes darted to the door, and that was when he saw the person he and Serah had just been talking about. "...Light?" he said, confused. He noticed the cut on her jaw, the blood dripping. What happened to her? And where had she been?

Lightning was surprised when Riku called her "Light", especially when she was hardly even Lightning anymore. Light was far more gentle than Lightning and Lightning was much nicer than Rose. Yet she felt a lot more like Rose than what Riku called her just now. "I wasn't able to find any gateways," Lightning said with a casual shrug. She lifted a hand to the small cut and felt the liquid on her fingertips for a moment. She knew she felt something strike her there. Whenever she wasn't against Caius, there were always monsters to keep her busy. Fortunately that's all it was today.
Riku was disappointed, he had to admit, but behind all of his anger...he was worried. "What happened?" he asked lowly. Why was she bleeding? He was sure it wasn't Caius; Lightning would have been exhausted if it was him. She seemed like she was fine, sort of.

Lightning pulled her fingers away from her jaw and the blood was gone because of a healing spell. "Just another day." She started walking towards her bedroom, where she'd rest up and think some more. There weren't any gates from what she saw, but maybe...Maybe if she went to Etro's throne room, she'd have another vision. One that could help her somehow.
Riku recognized that Lightning didn't plan on saying anything more, so he looked to Serah. His expression said it all. See? Told you. Lightning wasn't the sister Serah remembered. It was going to be more difficult to get through this with Lightning acting like this, and he hoped Serah was ready for the job.

Serah gave Riku another look of complete disbelief. "You don't get it," she stated, though it was half a question. "This is how she was right after we lost our Mom. She's pulling away because everybody's too scared to face her emotions head on with her." She thought Riku of all people would understand that withdrawing and giving her space would only allow her to sink deeper into this emotionless person. He didn't see Lightning when she was fifteen, but this was how she was. This was how she would be now unless they did something about it.
Riku crossed his arms, looking away. What did Serah want him to do? He saw a glimpse of the woman he fell in love with earlier, when he saw her this morning. But...it would take a lot more work than that. He would do what he could, but he was in a tough spot; seeing Lightning liked this pained him. It didn't make things easy.

Serah sighed. "You're encouraging her to give up on herself," she scolded in defense for her sister. She turned and headed to the bedroom. She didn't have any real plans in mind, but she wanted to remind Lightning of how far she came and how she was happiest when she let her emotions freer. Riku may have been letting Lightning slip further away, but Serah wasn't going to allow that to happen.
Riku glanced up in time to see Serah disappear, but after that, he looked to the ground. He didn't know what to do to justify his actions, but he knew that his Light was gone. She wasn't there anymore, and that was what hurt the most. How do I get her back? he wondered, closing his eyes. That was what he needed to do. He needed to save her...from herself.

Serah, by some miracle, was able to order Lightning around and have her listen. She didn't ask for anything extreme necessarily. She just asked for Lightning to sit on the floor. But a lot went along with that. A lot of memories. After their mother died, Lightning always told Serah to sit on the ground and she would brush her long pink hair for her. She'd do her hair every single day for school. And now, as Lightning sat on the ground and Serah sat behind her, the young sister brushed the elder's hair. Nothing was said for a long time, but Lightning's eyes were shut and she was sitting still. She understood that this was meant to make her feel loved again, but also connect her to her old self. Only this time, she was the one receiving care instead of giving it.
After a while of being alone, Riku finally found the guts to go and confront Lightning and Serah as well; they were both quite intimidating when they were angry, something he now knew from experience. He approached Lightning's room, stopping himself in the doorway as he looked upon the two sisters on the floor. They both looked...at peace, even with the most simple of gestures, like brushing the other's hair.

Lightning felt Serah gently run the brush through her hair, as she had been for a long time now. There were no knots left in her shoulder-length hair, but Serah continued to brush. And Lightning let her. When she sensed another presence though, she looked ahead to the doorway where somebody stood. Maybe she was angry and defensive against him, but that wasn't all that shone in her blue eyes. The brokenness and sorrow of Lightning showed somehow as well.
