Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku found himself smiling a little at the sight before him, witnessing the love between the two sisters. And when he made eye contact with Lightning, that small smile remained, even if he saw the emotions in her gaze. He nodded to her slightly. It's okay. You'll be alright. His Lightning was in there; he just lost sight of her for a little while. Riku would help get her back.

Lightning set her hands on the ground and rose to her feet, which Serah allowed her to do without question. The armor was gone and so was the harshness that she showed Riku earlier. She wasn't truly Light again, but she was a step closer. Her blue eyes rested on Riku for a few seconds, and even if it wasn't tense, she didn't just stare at him. She took a few small steps forward and stopped right in front of him, gazing up into those aqua eyes. The more she saw them, the more her heart ached. She didn't realize how badly she missed him before.
Riku's small smile faded when Lightning gazed at him, and he studied her expression. The sorrow was more apparent when she gazed at him. Why was that? His eyebrows furrowed slightly as he lifted a hand to her cheek, feeling her soft hair and skin at his fingertips. Don't be sad.

Lightning shut her eyes for a few seconds to gather herself. One instinct told her to run away from emotions. Another--the dominant one--told her to embrace them. They weren't all she embraced, however. She opened her eyes and took a small step closer to Riku, showing her first sign of affection as she wrapped her arms around him in a light embrace.
The hand that had been on Lightning's cheek moved to the back of her head, and Riku's gaze landed on Serah. This was the Lightning he knew, the woman he loved. He lifted his other arm and wrapped it around her, returning her embrace. He would take in this moment while he could; Lightning wouldn't be like this later.

Serah moved to sit down on Lightning's bed, sitting indian style as she looked at the two. Don't give up, she thought silently to the pair, though she could only see Riku's eyes from where she was sitting. If Riku needed proof that Lightning was still herself at least a little bit, here it was. He just needed to keep a hold of her and not let her sink further away.
Riku let his eyes divert away from Serah, and then he closed his eyes, turning his head into Lightning's hair. He tightened his hold on her slightly, keeping her close while he still could. Rose would come back soon, and Lightning would be gone. He didn't want that...but it was reality.

Lightning furrowed her eyebrows and also held Riku closer, eyes shut as she held onto him. She remembered how she never wanted protection before--how she always denied it. But eventually she found that she liked trusting somebody else to keep her safe. ...He couldn't keep her safe this time though. He couldn't save her from herself this time. At that thought, she loosened her hold on him.
No, Riku thought, feeling Lightning's hold loosen. He tightened his embrace a little more, keeping her close. Stay with me. He didn't want her to go away again, not yet. Just a little longer... That was all he needed.

Again, Lightning felt two conflicting urges. This time she followed a different urge. She loosened her hold on Riku completely, slowly bringing her arms back down to her sides even if he held onto her. She was sorry, but...she didn't feel so safe in his arms anymore.
Riku realized that it was too late. He loosened his hold when Lightning did, covering up his hurt as he released the woman he loved and looked at her. He didn't want to let her go, but...he didn't really have a choice. Not right now, anyway.

Serah noticed Riku's hurt, and she felt it as well when Lightning reverted so quickly. "Lightning," she called softly. She held up the hairbrush when her sister looked over, but to her dismay, Lightning shook her head. The sisterly rituals were over and now things were back to normal. Well, normal for her. ...But Serah nodded faintly in understanding despite that. She understood better than anyone how to cope with this type of behavior and when to not press Lightning.
Riku didn't know what to say or do, so he just stood where he was in silence. What were they supposed to do now? Lightning had no luck discovering a gate...and it was getting late anyway. He imagined they would stay in for the night. But why did he feel like that was wasting time?

After a few moments, Lightning sat down on the bed beside Serah. Thankfully her sister didn't try to initiate physical contact. Lightning needed to be by herself for a little bit, at least when it came to who she was depending on. Right now, she needed to depend on herself to come up with a solution. "Serah," she started. "Riku. Let me tell you a little more about Caius so that you'll be ready if you ever see him again."
Riku leaned against the doorway, crossing his arms as he prepared to listen. They already knew a great deal about Caius, since he revealed a lot of himself to them recently. But whatever Lightning had to say was probably helpful, so he would do his part in this and listen.

Lightning told them everything she knew, but it was mostly battle techniques that he used. The illusions, the transformation into Chaos Bahamut--the works. She had to explain that she never saw him use the tricks that he did yesterday, so they'd have to be on their guard against that. But hopefully neither of them would have to deal with Caius without her present. "I'm working on a charm," she said after her explanation of it all. "You can keep it on you and it will teleport you back here if you need to get away in a rush." It was difficult, but she would make it work somehow.
"Do you need help getting anything?" Riku asked lowly. He and Serah could surely go out together and help get the ingredients. Serah wasn't too skilled of a fighter yet, so he would go with her for obvious reasons. But he also wanted to help. Lightning couldn't do anything on her own, and Riku hated being helpless. That was why he never was.

Lightning glanced over at Riku in thought. She didn't "need" anyone to help her, nor did she particularly care for assitence. Again, she was used to carrying her own weight. In return, she expected to carry their weight as well. Clearly that wasn't alright with Riku. So...she nodded faintly to his question. "We'll need to go out together and gather it though," she said. "Since only I know what to look for."
"All right," Riku said with a small nod. He would agree to that. Lightning didn't have to do everything herself anymore, so he was willing to help. Clearly she understood that. He wasn't particularly sure what to look for anyway, so her suggestion worked well.

"Did you want to go right now?" Serah asked while she remained on the bed. She assumed that would be the case, because once Lightning had her mind set to something, she was pretty quick in following through. But to her surprise, her sister shook her head.

"I have some of the materials to get started already," Lightning explained. "So I'll work with those. Maybe Riku can give you more training while I'm busy." She was still new at this whole thing after all. Even if Lightning was sending her away from the fight, it'd be good for her to know more about fighting.

Riku nodded again before looking to Serah. She had a bow, and while he wasn't very familiar with those, he was sure he could catch on. Besides, her bow turned into a sword if she wanted it to. Maybe he could give her more training with that instead. "Wanna get started?"
  • Author
"Sure," Serah responded with a small nod before rising off the bed. She was ready to get started, though she didn't like leaving Lightning alone. What could she do though? If she pressured her sister and stuck around with her, she'd want to run away even further. Now wasn't the time to push her too harshly. With that in mind, Serah nodded to Lightning and then headed out of the bedroom.
When Serah passed him, Riku looked to Lightning. "Holler if you need us," he said with a small wave. She knew where to find them, at least. He started away as well, tearing his eyes from the woman he loved to follow her sister upstairs. He trained Namine in the past; he could train Serah too.

A few hours passed and Riku and Serah didn't interrupt Lightning. That was beneficial, considering that she needed a high level of concentration to make these gems. She was in the middle of one though. As she sat on the floor of a mostly empty room, she meditated over the red gem that was in her palms. She had become quite the sorceress in the past year thanks to Etro. But a loner for the same reason. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly over her closed eyes, emotion threatening to break through her concentration.
Riku descended the steps quietly with Serah, their training over for now. Both of them were tired and sweaty, mostly because he brought out his own Keyblade for assistance. But it was just how he trained, and he hoped Serah was okay with it. She seemed fine, and like she was catching on quickly. He was proud of her.
