Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Serah smiled appreciatively at Riku once they reached the bottom of the stairs, the girl also nodding her thanks again. It was definitely different to train with Riku, but sort of not. Lightning had trained her when under the alias of Rose, but she wasn't that harsh in training against the newbie. Now Serah understood why a "stranger" would be so gracious. "Wonder where Lightning is," she said as she looked around the living room. It was awfully quiet.
Riku looked around with Serah, curious as well. But...he knew she was here. He could sense her presence, and he could smell her. "She's here," he said softly. But he just didn't know where. The house wasn't that big in the first place, so he imagined she was on the first floor. He and Serah would have spotted her if she came upstairs.

Serah nodded faintly, accepting it. "Why don't you spend some time alone with her?" she suggested. "I'll just head to bed." She was feeling pretty tired from that intense training. This wasn't exactly something that she experienced before, since she wasn't a warrior. But being sister to one, she should have known just how hard it was to train.
Riku nodded to Serah silently, also wishing her good night. He would do as she suggested, though he originally intended on just finding Lightning. But...he would try to get some quality time with her; it was hard to do these days.

Serah headed off to the bedroom and collapsed on the bed, Mog flying over to a chair in the room and collapsing there. It was strange how used to him she was now, even if it had only been a few days ago that she met him. Even if it was something worth dwelling on, her thoughts were on Lightning as she drifted into unconsciousness.
Riku searched a few rooms for Lightning before he found her, stopping when he saw that she was on the floor...and looking to be concentrating. He remained silent for that reason, lingering by the door to see what she was doing. It looked like she had something in her hands, but he couldn't see what, even if it was giving off a faint glow.

You need to shut up and not think about stuff like this, Lightning scolded herself. This wasn't the time for sentimental, emotional Lightning to come back to the surface. Now was the time for the serious persona of Rose to concentrate on the sorcery and finish this gem. But since when did things ever happen the way that she wanted them to? She had wanted to marry Riku before, but now here she was, working on a stupid gem...
Riku tilted his head, lifting an eyebrow. Was Lightning...okay? She appeared to be struggling...but he didn't want to interrupt. He wanted to help if he could, but he wasn't that good at magic. A lot of his spells were attack-based, not for synthesizing, if that was what Lightning was doing. He took a few small steps into the room, trying to get a better view of Lightning. "...Light," he called softly.

Lightning's eyes shot open, and with that, the red gem cracked in half and split. She fought the urge to groan in disappointment, considering that hours of hard work just went down the drain. Of course Riku didn't mean to interrupt something important. And besides, her concentration had been failing anyway. She exhaled her breath of frustration slowly, lifting her gaze to Riku. Was he just here to check on her?
Riku had blinked upon the gem cracking, and seeing Lightning's expression, he lifted a hand to the back of his head. "Shoot...sorry," he said, sheepish. He just ruined her spell or something, didn't he? Nice job, slick, he scolded himself. He couldn't do anything right since he got to Valhalla.

Even if she was frustrated, Lightning had to smile ever so slightly at Riku's sheepishness. "It wasn't your fault," she said as she tossed the broken gems across the room. "I wasn't doing well anyway." Fortunately for Riku, she was feeling more like Lightning right now instead of the woman that she became. That meant the gem wasn't going to be done tonight, but it did mean that she'd be at least a little less socially awkward.
"What were you trying to do?" Riku asked, looking at the split gem across the room. He lowered his hand from his head when his eyes returned to Lightning, confusion in his expression. Was she working on that charm she said she needed to make?

"I created the gem from scratch," Lightning began to explain, extending one leg in front of her while the other was half bent. Her arm rested on that one as she gazed upward at Riku. "It's an important part of the teleportation spell I told you about earlier." She had to have three crystals: one made from the dust of this place (home), one forged from her heart, and one from anywhere else in Valhallla. When the three were combined into one, it could be used for sudden teleportation. It was complicated, but as long as it worked, she didn't care how complicated it was.
"And I made you break it..." Riku said, eyebrows furrowing as he looked away. "Right." He hadn't meant to; he knew he should have been quiet, but Lightning almost looked....pained. He wasn't sure what to make of her expression other than that. It didn't sit well with him.

Lightning shrugged. "It's a hard gem to make," she said, though she wasn't trying to make Riku feel guilty. "I was already on the brink of losing it when you came in." And that was the honest truth. The responsibility was on her for the broken gem, not him.
Riku stared at the gem before his eyes found Lightning, and he nodded. If you say so, he thought. He would let himself believe her right now, because he thought he saw the woman he fell in love with. Rose was gone for the moment, and Lightning was here...

Lightning could see the longing in Riku's eyes; it wasn't hard to see at any moment of the day. As Rose, she ignored it. As Lightning...She confronted it, at least a little bit. "It's alright," she said as she rose to her feet. Seeing Riku's hand by her, she reached out and gave it a light squeeze. "Truly." The word "truly" may not have been in her regular vocabulary, but the hand squeeze was like her.
Riku's eyes darted down to the hand holding his, and his fingers curled around it slowly. He knew that this moment right here wasn't going to last long; Rose would come back in a few minutes, maybe even sooner. So he was going to hold onto it while he could, figuratively and literally. His eyes lifted to the ones he came to love, wondering what she had been thinking when he first came in. Lightning appeared to be hurt at the time, even if nothing was touching her.

Lightning glanced down at the hand. She hadn't meant to hold onto him, but she wouldn't withdraw her hand now. Looking up and seeing the desperation in his eyes...seeing him pleading with her to not become cold and impersonal again...It felt like Caius stabbed her all over again. "I..." she started, at a loss for words.
Riku shook his head, able to tell that an apology might have been coming his way. He didn't want it, able to tell by Lightning's expression that she was feeling sorry for him. He didn't want pity; he just wanted Lightning. He let his thumb rub over the skin of her hand, soothing her while he could. She didn't have to apologize.

Lightning lowered her gaze to the hand that Riku was holding and stroking. He was insane to love somebody like her. She wasn't worthy of it with how she was hurting him now. Maybe Rose wasn't worthy, but Lightning was. That was who she wanted to be. She tightened her grip on his hand, as if holding onto him was holding onto herself. She didn't want to go away yet.
Riku lifted his free hand, touching the bottom of Lightning's chin and gently tilting her head up to look at him. He looked at her, wanting one thing before she reverted. But would she even know what it was? Sometimes, he didn't even know, not anymore. He just wanted Lightning while he had her.

Lightning allowed Riku to lift her chin, the feeling familiar and foreign at the same time. Instead of letting thoughts chase away her emotions, her feelings conquered any doubts and questions in her mind. For the time being, anyway. She gazed into Riku's eyes, keeping a hold of his hand. She believed she knew what he wanted.
Riku gazed into the blue eyes he had dreamed about countless times in the past, his touch remaining under Lightning's chin. "While I still have you..." he said, trailing off. He wanted one thing while he still had the woman he loved. He cautiously leaned forward, his eyes not closing until his lips brushed Lightning's. Just one.

Lightning glanced down when Riku's lips brushed against hers lightly, though he didn't withdraw. And neither did she. Daring herself to latch onto the girl she used to be, she shut her eyes and gently locked her lips with Riku's. Her grasp on his hand may have loosened a little bit, but it wasn't because she was going back to being Rose. It was because she was so stunned at all the emotions this triggered. It made her want to cry.
