Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku's glider was the right size for the newest path, so he didn't have to worry about doing any necessary turns like Bahamut. He heard a roar and then a loud crash. Glancing over his shoulder, he grunted in surprise. Caius took down some buildings, and was continuing to do so every few yards! "Lightning!" he cried. They had to hurry!

Lightning grunted, stunned to see the buildings coming down like they were nothing. And knocking down further buildings that Caius didn't even bump into yet. Her eyes widened when she looked ahead and saw two more narrow buildings collapsing inward. That along with the debris that Caius was causing to fly at them, Bahamut, Lightning, Noel, and Riku were struck. She grunted roughly when she got hit with a piece of rock bigger than herself in the back, knocked off the beast that was already toppling and then landing on the ground many yards ahead of her.
Riku cried out roughly when his glider was hit by debris. It crashed into the ground and he was thrown, hitting the ground multiple times before stopping. He noticed that the man with Lightning before had a similar fate. He landed among debris, also feeling debris fall on top of him. He covered his head despite his armor, knowing that some of it was already cracked. He's stronger than before, Riku noted of Caius. They were in big trouble.

Lightning felt a piece of debris on her back, pinning her to the ground as she was on her stomach. This was so familiar...like what happened at a ball a long time ago with a bunch of Keybladers. She was pinned by falling debris there too. Only this time, she didn't knock her head. She grunted roughly in pain, believing she saw Caius transform into his human form and stand on top of the debris nearby. She had to find a way out of this...

Caius stood atop one of the buildings in silence for a moment, but then he saw the three warriors trying to move. One of them succeeded, and it was a young man he had grown to befriend. "Keeping up?" he called lowly, a sinister smirk resting on his face as he and Noel made eye contact.

"Caius?!" Noel cried in surprise, and anger. Why was he doing this? Noel knew he was covered in dust, standing amongst a ton of rubble. But the only thing that mattered was the enemy here, and that was clearly his former friend and fighting partner.

Riku grunted lowly, pushing himself to his hands and knees. Debris slid across his armor and fell to the ground, making some noise. Fortunately, it didn't attract too much attention to him. He looked up at Noel, rising to his feet slowly. "You know him?" he called. How coincidental was that? Noel's silence was his answer, as was the glare he sent Caius's way. Clearly there was a past between the two.

"Can you beat him?" Lightning called to Noel from her spot. Noel came here for a reason. Could it be that he was meant to defeat Caius Ballad once and for all? Whether he could or not, she wanted a hand in the fight. That wasn't going to happen while she was buried. She grasped a rock in front of her and pulled herself out from underneath the debris, ignoring the pain. At least she wasn't crushed that time. Luck was on her side.

Caius's smirk turned into a smile instantly. "Yes, Noel," he called to the young man. "Will you fight me? Will you beat me?" This was how he foresaw it in the timeline. Noel... He would be the one to kill Caius, and bear the curse of the eternal paradox.

Noel ground his teeth together, reaching behind him and pulling out one of his swords. "Antagonistic as always, aren't you Caius?" he called, glaring up at the man. "You haven't changed." It had only been so long since they saw each other last, and wherever Noel was now, Caius was the same.

Lightning summoned her gunblade, holding it with both hands in front of her as she got her footing on the rubble. "If you can beat him, do it!" she ordered Noel as her eyes remained on Caius. Whatever relationship the two had, it didn't matter. Lightning went a year without killing Caius, so maybe it was Noel's job to do it.

Caius couldn't help but laugh. "The warrior goddess is impatient for my demise," he announced. "No matter. She will meet her end before I face mine. Of that, I am certain." Noel could kill him, but after Lightning was dead herself.

"That's enough," Riku growled, his Keyblade already in his hand. The cold air of Valhalla brushed his mouth and chin, his armor cracked there from his fall. Because of that, he was sure Caius could see the frown set on his lips and the tightness of his jaw. Threats toward Lightning were not okay with him. Caius would pay for even saying those words.

"If a fight is what he wants," Noel said of Caius, looking from Riku to Lightning, "he'll have to wait. I can't beat him, not like this." Noel wasn't strong enough; he was too weak to do it in the past. He couldn't do it now. Caius was still his friend, even with what he'd done in the past. If Noel was to fight him and win, he had to be stronger.

Though disappointed with Noel's answer, Lightning accepted it. She'd rather have honest, bad truth than a hopeful lie. "Then we need to go," she said. Caius was worn down from the chase too with how many buildings he hit. Lightning could hold him off and then suddenly teleport herself away. Riku and Noel should start running, immediately.
Riku glanced over at Lightning briefly before eyeing Caius again. "I'll show him the way," he told his beloved, speaking of Noel. He knew where they were going, and he could already tell by the way Lightning held herself that she made a decision he feared: she was going to hold off Caius. If she could hold him off for the past year, she can do this, he told himself. Riku then started over the rubble, going at a run. "This way," he told Noel, passing the young man, who soon followed suit.

Lightning stood her ground, noticing that Caius didn't give chase to the boys. There was no need to when Lightning was his real target. Once Lightning was dead, his seeress would be free. "You really want to kill me despite the rest of the world?" she asked lowly, tightening her grip on her gunblade. If Caius killed her, the whole world would suffer greatly. Only he and Yeul would be happy.
"I will do anything to save Yeul," Caius said, watching the young men run until the Keyblader summoned his glider. It was then that he looked to the warrior goddess. "You know this." The question was pointless, and a waste of Lightning's breath. She would need it for the future, when their battles would be much more difficult. Each day they both got stronger, thus making them the worst of enemies.

"What if this isn't the way to save her?" Lightning challenged. "What if you're wrong and you damn the world for nothing?" These questions were similar to ones that she asked herself in the past. What if serving Etro wasn't the right thing to do? What if she was fighting on the wrong side? Seeing Caius's passion was convicting; at least he believed in his cause. For a long time, Lightning wasn't sure what she believed. What she knew now, though, was that she did have to protect Etro, whether she wanted to or not.
"Then the world be damned," Caius retorted lowly. He reached behind him and pulled out his sword, deciding to humor Lightning with a small battle. It would do neither of them good, but if this was what she insisted on, he would not disappoint. He then jumped down from his place atop a building, aiming for the warrior goddess.

Lightning grunted and blocked Caius's sword before shoving herself back. There still wasn't enough time for Riku and Noel to be gone; she'd have to stick around for a while longer. With a battle cry, she ran towards him and swung her gunblade. They were going to be enemies until the end; she could see that now. He wasn't open to any form of reasoning.
Back at the house, Riku was pacing the main room ceaselessly. He glared at the ground with every stride, fighting his urges to go after Lightning. She was gone for a while, almost too long. But...Caius knew that he couldn't die through Lightning, so would he really kill her first? Something about it led Riku to believe that he would...and it scared him. At least Noel was there to help when Riku was gone, whatever Noel did. Riku briefly glanced up and saw Noel talking to Serah, who appeared confused. Riku found out just recently that Noel was from a far-off future, here to help Lightning save the Goddess...but there was more to it than that, which scared Riku even more.

It took a long time, but eventually, Lightning was able to trap Caius underneath some of his own rubble and make a run for it. She literally ran, since she didn't have the energy to teleport back home. As she neared the home, she slowed herself down and caught her breath. She wasn't in terrible shape except for some bits of armor being scratched, missing, or crushed. She knew that next time she summoned it, it would be in perfect condition. And the dirt on her cheeks would be scrubbed off eventually. But for now...The young woman opened the door to the house and stepped inside, not surprised to see Riku pacing and Noel and Serah talking.
Riku noticed how everyone stopped as soon as Lightning entered the house--his pacing halted, as did Noel and Serah's conversation. He gazed at Lightning in silence, worry obviously etched into his expression. But she looked okay, other than a few scratches and some exhaustion. At least she's alive, he told himself silently. He was grateful for that.

Lightning shut the door behind her, seeing that Serah was fighting the urge to run and embrace her. That was probably good, because she wasn't quite in the mood to be hugged. She walked into the house further and since Riku was closer, she set a hand on his shoulder as she spoke to the three that didn't face Caius with her. "He's gone for now."
Noel witnessed Riku place his hand lightly on Lightning's lower back. "You're still alive," he stated, remaining next to Serah. "I take it Caius didn't try his hardest." Caius wanted Lightning dead, and while she may be strong, Noel knew Caius got what he wanted one way or another. He would do everything he could to make sure Lightning died, but apparently not tonight. Caius let her get away.

Lightning shook her head faintly. "I've been facing off against him for a year now," she stated in her own defense. "I know his tricks. And besides, there was nothing he could do once he was buried underneath the rubble of two buildings." It took a lot of effort to get those pieces of building to fall on him (hence the tiredness she now felt), but it had been worth it to get away. As for Riku's hand on her lower back...It felt foreign but she was alright with it for some reason. Probably the tiredness.

"It won't hold him for long, but it'll work for the night," Riku assumed. He looked to Noel to see him nod, a frown set on the hunter's lips. "Any ideas on what he'll do next?" The Chaos Bahamut attack was one thing. What else did Caius have up his sleeve?

"Hard to tell with Caius," Noel said with a small shake of his head. "But I'm sure it won't be long before he comes knocking on your door." He motioned to Lightning at this, though he knew that Lightning wouldn't let him get that far. He just met her, but he could tell she was stronger than he originally thought...not that he really had the time to think about it before, anyway.

Again, Lightning shook her head. "This place has so many protective enchantments that he'd never be able to find it," she said. "But you're right; I'll have to deal with him again soon." What was she going to do then? Destroy the entire city and bury him beneath it? If that would have actually worked, she would have done it. She was so sick of this war.
Noel kept his eyes locked on Lightning, knowing that there was something he had to do. Why else did he come here? She had yet to explain why he came through the Historia Crux. If she had the answer, that is. He was still confused as to what exactly was going on.
