Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Terra slowly lowered the blade to his side, shutting his eyes. After a few seconds, his consciousness began to return. "Tch," he grunted, opening his eyes and blinking them a few times. He looked down, seeing that the Heartless was gone. And though he looked up to the ceiling, the heart was already gone. So...he had actually done it? He turned around to Riku and Lightning, flames gone and eyes normal. "I did it?"
"Yeah..." Riku said, lowering his gaze to Terra again. "You did." What did Terra exactly...do? It seemed so simple, but Riku knew that it wouldn't be that way for him. If he were to take Caius's heart, it would be during battle. It couldn't be done so smoothly, not when he was fighting. He would have to brush up on the technique. A lot.

Lightning shifted uneasily on her seat, hearing Terra's "wow" in amazement. It was...good, that it was possible to remove a heart. But like this? By letting the Darkness consume for a minute? She didn't like the idea of that happening to Riku. Wasn't there...some other way? There had to be something less dangerous.
Riku couldn't help but smile slightly at the surprise on Terra's face. You really need to have more faith in yourself, he silently told him. He then approached Terra, clasping him on the shoulder. "So, you gonna show me the technique?" he asked, smile slowly fading. He needed to learn how to do this.

"Yeah," Terra said with a nod. "We're gonna need another Heartless though." They had the same one all afternoon, since they hadn't been able to extract his heart. He glanced over at Lightning, who nodded and rose to her feet before heading to the hallway. With the stun gun in her hand, she'd be able to get a Heartless easily.
Riku took his hand from Terra's shoulder and stared at the table in silence, hearing Lightning leave the room. He knew it looked simple, but it probably required a lot of energy and patience. But he tapped into his Darkness all the time. Would it really be that difficult?

"It's not just tapping into your Darkness," Terra explained as he looked over at Riku. "It's more than that. You actually have to give it the reigns. I wasn't aware of what I was doing wholeheartedly, but if you would have called to me, I probably would have snapped out of it." So it wasn't deep unconsciousness.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed a little more at that, though he did nod. So he wouldn't have complete control, but his consciousness would kick in if he was called. It made sense, but he did have to carry this with caution. He couldn't be reckless here. Not with a heart.

"Everything from that point on is the Darkness guiding you," Terra said, hearing the gun go off once in the hallway as Lightning caught her Heartless. "You'll just know what do to. But once the heart's out, it's out of your control. At least it was mine." Maybe with more practicing, the heart could be controlled as to where it went.

"Right," Riku said, turning his head to look at Terra. "Thanks." He was going to give it his best, and he trusted his Darkness. It helped him so far, and he hoped it wouldn't fail him when he really needed it. He only used it for good, so in a sense, it was another form of Light.

Light reentered the room, seeing Terra nod in response to Riku. If she hadn't known that the creature in her arms was no longer human, she would have felt sad to carry such a creature to its death. But this was setting it free. After this, the heart would go to Kingdom Hearts and be in a better place. She set it on the table in silence before taking a few steps back to give Riku and Terra some room. She wasn't sure how this would go.
Riku glanced from Lightning to the Heartless on the table, his Keyblade still in hand. Just tap into your Darkness, he told himself. Trust it, and it'll make the right moves. He turned to look at Terra and nodded. He was ready. He would give it a shot.

Terra took a few steps back, keeping his Keyblade in his hand out of habit. Of course he didn't think that he'd need to use it; Riku had more control of his Darkness than Terra did. But Terra's experience was probably what allowed him to do this on the first time. It could take Riku a while to do it, even with the Darkness controlling him.
Riku held his Keyblade out in front of him, both hands on the hilt as he stared at the Heartless. He closed his eyes and relaxed, letting his Darkness creep in. Take control, he told it. Release the heart. He opened his eyes, his aquamarine orbs blank of expression as he was suddenly surrounded with purple and black flames, ones that licked at his skin and rose from his feet. But he didn't move, he didn't approach the Heartless and try to take the heart. He was just frozen.

Lightning blinked in surprise, not expecting the flames to consume Riku like that. They didn't look painful to him, but he just...wasn't moving. At all. She glanced over at Terra, and after a few seconds she took action. "Riku?" she called, taking a few steps towards him. It was taking too long; what was going on inside his head?
Riku heard the call, and his Keyblade moved up ever so slightly in his grasp. But other than that, nothing. He knew the voice; he could hear it in his sleep all the time, having dreamed of it countless times before. But it wasn't waking him from his time-out. The Darkness still had control.

Lightning looked over at Terra, her gaze sharp. "I thought you said he'd hear voices in this state. I thought you said he'd come out of it!" Obviously he wasn't; the Darkness was still lapping at him and he wasn't responsive. Something was wrong.

Terra blinked at Lightning's anger, seeing her fury. "I...thought he would," he stated. Terra felt like his consciousness wasn't lost completely; he would have woken up if somebody spoke to him. Riku didn't seem to be having the same response though.

"Then what's wrong?" Light demanded, though she didn't wait for a response. Terra didn't know. That was a really bad sign. She stepped over to Riku, setting one of her hands atop of his. "Riku?" she tried again, voice firmer but expressing more worry. Why wasn't he coming out of it?

The banter was conversation Riku could understand, which caused him to panic. Why wasn't he coming out of it? C'mon! What are you doing?! he asked of himself. Stop it! He had to get out of this. He could control his Darkness, he knew he could. It never controlled him. Not anymore. But Riku's eyes were still blank, staring straight ahead. Not really seeing anything.

"Riku, c'mon!" Lightning snapped, though her voice wasn't angry. It was fearful. She tugged at one of his hands, forcing him to release the Keyblade with that one. She grasped that hand with both of hers, eyebrows furrowing as she looked up at his face. He was just...blank. And it was really shaking her up.
Riku gasped, taking in a sharp breath as he blinked, his eyes suddenly coming into focus. He breathed heavily, as if he had been suffocating before as he turned his head. "Light?" he asked, voice shaking slightly. What...just happened to him?

From her view to the side, Lightning could see Riku's eyes focus again. And just by his voice, she knew that he was back. As if the absence of the teeming Darkness wouldn't have been enough to alert her to that anyway. She sighed in relief, lifting Riku's hand up close to her lips as she shut her eyes. Thank goodness.
Riku watched Lightning in silence, too shocked to speak. Terra said he would be able to come out of it by just a call of his name, but he heard more than just his name, and nothing happened. Maybe it's different with me...he concluded. My Darkness is different than Terra's. It has to be.

Light kissed Riku's fingers gently, keeping his hand close to her face even after the action was done. He was himself now; she could tell that much even with her eyes shut. He was back to consciousness, thank goodness.

"Riku?" Terra asked from a few feet away. "You okay?" That had been pretty scary. Riku obviously gave his Darkness control, but the Darkness didn't do anything. Maybe he didn't want the heart badly enough. As for why he didn't come out of it right away...Terra had no clue.

Riku's fingers curled around Lightning's that grasped his hand, but he turned his head to meet Terra's gaze. "Yeah...I'm fine," he said softly. "Just..." He didn't even know how to describe what he was feeling. Surprised, maybe a little...weird? His Darkness took control of him, at least for a moment, but it hadn't done anything. At least he wasn't hostile.

Terra nodded faintly, feeling like he understood even if Riku didn't say anything. He knew what it was like to be unconscious like that, but he didn't know what it was like to not wake up quickly at whatever time he willed. "If you want to give it another go, I think I have some ideas that'll help."
