Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku nodded a little. He wanted to try again; they didn't come all this way for nothing. One attempt wasn't good enough. Riku was going to do this until he got it right, since they didn't have much time. Caius could be on their tail even now.

Lightning slowly lowered Riku's hand, releasing it as Terra explained that Riku needed to want the heart more; he at least needed to keep that part of his consciousness awake. He didn't say anything about Riku not coming out of it quickly, because he obviously didn't know why that happened. When Terra told him to "give it another go", Lightning took a few steps back. If it happened again...she'd just have to snap him out of it.
Riku understood what Terra was saying, nodding to show it before his gaze found the woman he loved. Help me...if it happens again, he asked of her silently. He lowered his gaze to the ground before facing the table again, lifting his Keyblade with both hands. Pointing it at the Heartless, he exhaled a soft breath before closing his eyes. Want the heart, he told himself. It's the only way.

Lightning gazed at Riku as he focused, remaining silent along with Terra. For now, they didn't want to break his concentration. If he got too distant though, she'd step in again. And then they'd have to call it a day or something. ...Okay, maybe not take that drastic action. But they'd at least need to take a break.
The heart is the key, Riku told himself in silence. His eyes were closed as he welcomed his Darkness. It began to lick at his feet, purple and black flames slowly flowing up his legs to barely cover his torso before licking at his arms and hands, spreading to the blade. He opened his eyes then, aquamarine orbs blank again. To save your friends, to save her, free it.

C'mon, Riku, Terra silently urged, watching his successor from a few feet away. He was in the same position that he had been before; all they could do now was hope that he didn't get stuck again. It was good to know Lightning could snap him out of it, but still. Terra didn't like messing around with this kind of stuff.
Extract the heart, Riku told himself again. Blank in expression and unaware of his movements, he slowly turned to his side. His Keyblade moved with him, still held out in front of him as he faced the woman not too far from him. His blank eyes rested on her as the tip of his blade pointed at her heart. Free it from its confines.

Lightning first felt excited when Riku moved, but then she realized...he moved in the wrong direction. She blinked in surprise, eyes going to the tip of the Keyblade and then Riku's face as she took a few steps away. "Riku," she tried, slowly lifting her hands in caution. No...this was even worse than before. He wasn't going for the Heartless; he was trying to get to her heart.
Riku stared at Lightning, though he didn't really see anything. The voice nearly got to him, but just like the last time, it wasn't enough. His Keyblade began to glow at the tip, and after a moment of powering up, a beam of light shot out of it. And it went right toward Lightning's heart.

Lightning grunted, dodge-rolling to the side as the beam pierced the wall that was previously behind her. Within seconds, she was behind Riku instead. "Alright Riku," she said lowly, setting her hands on his forearms and lightly grasping them. "Lower the Keyblade. It's time to wake up." Terra stood over to the side with Keyblade in hand, though he was studying Riku to see if he needed to be knocked out. That was a close call.

Riku felt the touch, and the voice. But what he realized even more was the urgency in his heart, telling him to snap out of it. His muscles flexed as he tightened his grasp on the Keyblade, the Darkness suddenly vanishing as he squeezed his eyes shut and gasped again, short of breath. He opened his eyes, grip on his weapon going slack as he looked down at the hands on his arms, and felt the body pressed up against his back. "...Lightning?" he asked softly. What was she doing behind him?

"You're alright," Light said, loosening her grip on Riku's arms and catching Terra relax only slightly out of the corner of her eye. Riku was back to his normal self. The rest of it...He probably didn't realize what had happened. After all, Terra had to ask if he removed the heart before. Everything but voices and touch were apparently out of the person's senses when they were like that.

Riku glanced over his shoulder at Lightning, but then his eyes found Terra. "Why do you have...?" he started, looking at Terra's Keyblade. He then realized where he was standing, the table on his other side. "And why am I...?" He was so confused. Was he...was he facing the direction Lightning had just been standing? No...no way.

Light and Terra exchanged brief glances, but both of them were silent. Both of them realized that Riku was connecting the dots on his own, so they didn't need to say the ugly truth. He went for the wrong heart. She slowly took back her hands, only moving backwards one small step. There wasn't much room to, considering that they were right by the table.
Riku's arms fell to his sides now, his Keyblade doing the same as he stared at the spot on the wall that looked like it had been struck. That was me...he realized, eyes wide in alarm. "Damn it," he cursed, bringing a hand to his forehead as he closed his eyes. I almost killed her... I almost took Lightning's heart!

Easy... Light wanted to say, though her voice was caught in her throat. Now that the adrenaline was wearing off, she realized how fast her heart was pounding and that her eyes were wider than usual. That was a different kind of fear than what she normally felt, but it was fear all the same. If she didn't have quick reflexes, she would have been...gone.
Riku's Keyblade faded from his grasp, his hand instead curling into a fist. He lowered his hand from his forehead and looked over at Terra. "I'm done," he stated lowly, then starting out of the room. He was embarrassed and ashamed of himself. He almost killed the person he loved most, in all the worlds. He wasn't doing this anymore.

Terra let Riku go, and at first, it looked like Lightning was about to let him walk out as well. But then she started after him at a quick pace, probably deciding that she could console him somehow. Terra looked back to the Heartless once he was alone, walking forward and stabbing it with the Keyblade. It was time to free that thing from its suffering.
Riku made it out of the room, and as he started away from the lab, he closed his eyes again. He lifted a hand to his face before running it through his short hair, sighing. What the hell is the matter with me? he scolded himself. I should have known better. I nearly killed her! "Ugh," he grunted, disgusted with himself. Stupid.

"Riku," Lightning called, picking up her pace so that she was close behind him. She reached out and grasped his arm, acting out of instinct now. It had been a year since she had to comfort him, so she may not have been the best person for this right now. But she was what Riku had, so she was going to try her best to make this okay somehow. It was like like he meant to aim for her.
"Let go of me, Light," Riku said quietly, pulling his arm out of her grasp as he continued walking, approaching a set of stairs. He didn't want to talk to her. He couldn't even look at her after what he did. Riku almost killed her...so why was she following him?
  • Author
"I'll let go, but I'm going wherever you go," Lightning said as she followed behind him. He had to know that he wasn't alone. So what if he didn't get it done this time? At least they were on the right track. This was more progress than she expected to make on the first day. She knew why he was upset, but nobody was hurt. Couldn't they just let it go?
Riku took one step on the stairs and turned on Lightning, his eyes hard with her. "Why?" he asked. "Why would you want to follow me when I almost..." His voice failed him as he nearly admitted to killing Lightning, his eyebrows furrowing as he tsked in disgust. Riku tore his gaze away from hers, instead looking down at the stairs. What kind of boyfriend...and potential fiance...aimed their weapon at their lover?

"Riku," Lightning sighed, stepping right in front of him and gazing at him even if he wasn't looking back at her. "You can't seriously think I'd hold that against you. You were trying to do that because you want to face my demon." She furrowed her eyebrows, looking down at the ground. "Maybe this is proof I should face him alone..."
"No," Riku said, and a little too harshly. Lightning wasn't facing Caius alone. She may have done it for the past year, but it was time she got help. "I'm gonna keep trying, just... You can't be in the room with me anymore." Riku didn't want Lightning being in the line of fire again.
