Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning kept her gaze on the back of the couch, hearing Kairi's soft spoken words as Sora looked away from her. She felt a new emotion at the words: bitterness. Kairi was complaining about coming back to a world like Valhalla, but she didn't know the nightmare like Lightning did. Light was separated from friends and family for a year. Hunted daily. Lost in another persona. And now, most importantly, Serah was gone. Compared to that, Kairi didn't have much reason to complain.
"I'm just...disappointed," Kairi said, still hugging her knees. She lifted her gaze to Riku. "I'm supposed to be happy." She was just married, just starting a family with the man she loved. And she possibly wanted children in the future. But at this rate...it probably wouldn't happen. Kairi wouldn't bring a child into this world, not when it was like Valhalla.

Yeah, we all are, Lightning thought silently and bitterly. Kairi was supposed to be happy, Sora was supposed to be happy...Snow and Serah. Noel. Her and Riku. All of them were meant to be happy right now, but were they? No. They were all miserable and one of the group members was dead. It wasn't right.

Riku's eyebrows came together. "...Why are you looking at me?" he asked lowly. It was like Kairi was pinning the blame on him, and she was, wasn't she? She blamed him for this? The look in her eyes certainly said so.

"Because Caius wasn't our enemy, Riku," Kairi said, setting her feet down on the ground, her hands resting on the couch beside her. "He wasn't even yours. He was hers." She pointed at Lightning, whose back was to the rest of them. That was fine with Kairi. "Caius was Lightning's mortal enemy. So why do we have to suffer the consequences?"

"Kairi," Riku scolded, his voice turning sharp. She was pinning the blame on Lightning, not him. And that realization ticked Riku off more. He was okay with Kairi blaming him for this, but not Lightning. Not after she just lost Serah.

Lightning blinked, not expecting the conversation to be about her. She rolled over halfway and looked at Kairi with eyes dulled with grief, remaining silent. She was right about one thing: Caius was supposed to be her mortal enemy, not Riku's. But any burden that was Lightning's was also Riku's, and vice versa. Did Kairi forget that Lightning faced their mortal enemy, Xehanort with them?

"Our worlds are gone because she couldn't get rid of Caius properly," Kairi said, her voice rising at Riku's low tone. He was not going to get parental with her right now; she wasn't going to deal with it. "Don't you see? Our lives are falling apart because of this. Why do we have to suffer the consequences of her actions?"

"Kairi, that's enough!" Riku hollered, glaring at his best friend. Not that he could call her as much right now since she was blaming this all on his beloved. She should have known better than to do that. He wouldn't accept any of it. Riku's eyes caught Kairi's mouth fall shut as she looked away, her red hair falling from her shoulders and dangling by her face as she finally quieted down.

After a few moments, Lightning turned her gaze to the ceiling. There was nothing to say. Actually, there was, but Lightning wasn't in a fighting mood right now. She doubted she ever would be again, now that half her reason for fighting was gone. Serah was always a reason to fight, because she was worth protecting and often needed a guardian now. But now she was gone and Lightning lost somebody too precious to ever replace. The whole in her heart left by Serah would never be filled.
Riku looked at Kairi in disbelief, unable to comprehend how she could so easily pin all of this on Lightning. He was partially responsible, since he was needed to get the heart out of Caius. If Kairi was going to blame anyone, it should have been him. "Light's burdens are mine, and mine are hers," he growled. "You know that. The same thing goes for you and Sora." He briefly met her eyes when she looked up at him. "Knock it off, Kairi." Now wasn't the time for pitying her. She got her wedding and honeymoon; she should have been satisfied.

Sora looked up at Riku, uneasy with how he was talking to his wife. "Easy, Riku," he said a bit tensely. Yeah, Kairi was in the wrong to pin this on Lightning at a time like this, but Riku was being too harsh with her. She was just frustrated; she didn't mean it. There was no need for Riku to holler at her and look at her so bitterly right now.
Riku briefly looked at Sora, but then he rolled his eyes and returned his gaze to his beloved. He gently squeezed her leg, near her feet so she could have the most of the couch. He doubted she wanted him by her face anyway.

Sora furrowed his eyebrows at the eye-rolling. "I mean it," he declared firmly, eyes remaining on Riku even if he looked away. "Don't talk to her like that." Riku of all people should have understood how things were when you got angry and frustrated. You said stupid stuff that you didn't mean. He could afford to cut Kairi some slack here.
Kairi looked over at Sora when he got defensive, but then her eyes found Riku, who was glaring at Sora now. She put a hand on her husband's arm, focusing on him. "Sora...stop," she said softly. "It's okay..." She was out of line with what she said; Riku was right. She shouldn't have taken her frustrations out on Lightning. It wasn't fair.
  • Author
"No," Sora disagreed, keeping his eyes on Riku. "It's not." It wasn't okay for him to talk to Kairi with such anger and bitterness. What she said about Lightning wasn't good either, but Riku was adding fuel to the fire by not treating Kairi right. He should have known better, with how defensive Sora was of her.
Riku lifted an eyebrow. "You think I'm just gonna let her degrade Lightning like that?" he asked in disbelief. "Lightning just lost her sister, Sora! She doesn't deserve this!" Kairi deserved his anger after what she said. She had been insensitive to the real problem here, and that was that Serah was dead.
  • Author
"I'm not saying you should let her do anything," Sora said, raising his voice. "But you don't have to come down so roughly on her. She's just frustrated. I am too!" This wasn't a great way to come back from a honeymoon. It wasn't Lightning's entire fault, but in Sora's eyes too, she bore the brunt of the blame.
"Oh shut up," Riku said, looking from Sora to Kairi and then back again. "You guys got your happy ending. You got the wedding you wanted and got the honeymoon. Lightning and I weren't so fortunate." He squeezed Light's leg, his hand still resting there. "Lightning was suffering the entire time, and I wasn't happy either." In other words, both of his friends needed to quit with the sob stories. He didn't want to hear it.
  • Author
"Fine, you were suffering," Sora acknowledged. "But now we're all joining the party because you guys couldn't finish it like you were supposed to." There, he said it. It was Riku and Lightning's fault that the worlds all became Valhalla. They should have taken care of the problem better than they did.
Riku rose from his seat instantly, glaring at Sora. "That's enough," he growled. They tried... They tried to go get to Caius. They did everything to prepare to kill Caius, but they weren't given the chance. They tried...and that was all they could do.

Sora rose to his feet as well, staying silent but glaring at Riku. He knew now wasn't the time to be pinning the blame on people, but that's what they were doing anyway. Why'd Riku have to get involved with Lightning? It often seemed like she brought around more sorrow than anything else. He shifted his gaze to her subconsciously, which was probably a mistake.

"If you don't want to be here, fine," Riku said, seeing the way Sora was looking at Lightning. He hoped to get his friend's attention off her. "Since you and Kairi are so miserable, go home. We don't need your help." It wasn't like they were doing anything anyway. They were grieving and fighting each other. No progress was really being made. So if Sora and Kairi wanted to leave, they were welcome to.

Kairi blinked in surprise. "...Riku," she said softly, unable to believe he just told them to leave. He couldn't really mean that...

"Yeah, you don't need us," Sora said sarcastically, rolling his eyes and returning his gaze to Riku. "If I hadn't covered the rear while you guys ran ahead, you'd all be on your way to the guillotines." Not a single person helped him fend off those soldiers, and because of that, Kairi was hurt. Anger burned in his eyes as he glared at Riku, the teen ignoring everyone else in the room for now.
"Nobody asked you to do what you did," Riku said, taking a step toward Sora. "My hands were full. I was trying to carry the person I love to safety. You would have done the same with Kairi and you know it." He was trying to save Lightning. While he couldn't speak for Snow or Noel, he could at least speak for himself. And Kairi had no choice but to run; she was defenseless anyway.

"This isn't about Kairi," Sora said as his eyebrows furrowed. "The point is, I took care of the group earlier. You do need me, and Kairi." If Sora was sticking around, so was she. She was just really good at magic and in the rush, she hadn't thought to use it. An honest mistake for her since she was new to this.
Snow saw Riku about to open his mouth. "All of you cut it out," he ordered, pushing himself away from the wall. He caught Riku and Kairi's gazes, though his own eyes lingered on Sora and Riku. "The two of you can settle your personal issues later. Right now, we need to figure out how to set the worlds back to their original state." He would set things right...for Serah. She fought hard to save the future, and he wasn't going to let this be her reward. Her sacrifice wouldn't be for this.

Lightning lifted her gaze to Snow in silence, the whole room quiet now. Out of all the people to break up the argument, she was surprised that it was Snow. He had been in a similar state as her earlier, being a wreck and all. She supposed he was much better off though, considering that he wasn't shocked like she was. But...he had been there. He saw Serah go...
