Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Snow looked over at Lightning, meeting her gaze wordlessly. We need to save the world...for Serah, he silently told her. Serah wouldn't have wanted this, all this fighting. Their best bet was to buckle down and get to work. Snow's sorrow was turning into fury, and he would take it out on whoever stood in his way.

Lightning caught the look in Snow's eyes, and if she had more energy, she would have picked a fight with him. There he was again, trying to be the hero. Well she wasn't getting dragged along for that ride. Hope was lost. She rolled back over onto her side and faced the back of the couch, shutting herself out of the conversation. Snow could go play hero if he wanted to. There was nothing she could do to stop him anyway.
"Listen," Riku said, turning around and returning to his seat on the couch. "I'm not going anywhere or doing anything until Lightning's ready." So, in other words, everyone should have excluded him from this mission. At least temporarily. Once Lightning was ready, he would be ready.

Lightning heard the words and let her eyes fall shut. She should have expected that type of response from Riku. She wasn't about to tell him that he needed to fight for the sake of the worlds, even if it was his duty to as a Keyblade wielder. She'd accept this decision of his because she wanted it and wasn't going to act otherwise.

"But...isn't it your duty, as a Keyblade wielder?" Noel asked, speaking for the first time in a while. He had sat by and witnessed everything up until now, and he was going to do what he could to help support Snow. He was right; they needed to focus on the bigger picture here, not just themselves.

"Maybe it is," Riku said with a small nod, leaning his elbows on his knees. "But I'm not the only one who can wield a Keyblade." He looked to Sora specifically at this. "One of us can stay behind. There should be hundreds of others looking to settle the problem too." For a while, Sora and the others could handle it. Riku's loyalties rested in the person beside him.

Sora shook his head faintly. "I don't think it works like that," he finally said, trying to ignore his anger for now. "When the Chaos washed over Destiny Islands, Kairi and I put a shield up. When it went down, things were...different. The people that we saw looked like they were from a different era." So if the other Keybladers weren't protected with magic, they probably weren't around in this universe.

Riku lifted an eyebrow. "So all of the others are gone?" he asked, making sure he heard correctly. The other Keyblade wielders who assisted them in the war against Xehanort weren't around anymore?

"Not all of them," Kairi said with a small shake of her head. "I'm pretty sure Roxas and Namine got out, and Terra, Aqua, Ventus, and Xion too. But...we never really got the chance to check." She and Sora had just gotten out of there to look for Riku and see what was going on. It was...weird.

Sora nodded his agreement. "So, looks like it's up to us again," he said. It was ironic, how Master Yen Sid said that they could all lead more normal lives now that other Keyblade wielders were around to protect the worlds. But they were gone now, so Sora and his friends were the heroes again. Hopefully, anyway. They had no clue how to set things right.
Riku shook his head. "I'm not going anywhere," he reminded them again. "Count me out for the time being." He would join them when Lightning was ready. Wherever they were, he would find them and help out then.

Sora felt angry with that decision for some reason, but he blamed it on the anger that he experienced earlier. He only nodded faintly to Riku as silence filled the room again. He and Kairi would handle things for the time being. They'd clean up Riku's mess for him. Maybe that was what was making him angry now.
Noel looked at everyone in the silence, noticing that nobody was making any moves. "So...should we get going?" he asked, lifting an eyebrow. If they were going to try and stop this, they needed to get a move on. He figured he could initiate it, at least.

Sora looked around, though he wasn't sure who else was going to respond. Not Riku or Lightning. "Guess so," he agreed, rising to his feet. No good was being done here. At least if they went out, they could get a better clue of what was going on. That guy earlier on stage mentioned three names...what was that all about? And why was the military acting in favor of these guys? It was best they got some answers and leave the personal issues out of this for now.
"Good luck," Riku said with a small nod, seeing Kairi rise from the couch just after Sora. He could tell the latter wasn't happy with him, but he doubted Sora would have left Kairi's side if the roles were switched. Riku glanced over in time to witness Snow take a step toward the door and Noel move that way as well. They knew where to find him and Lightning if they decided to come back later.

Sora set a hand on Kairi's shoulder as he walked by, that touch communicating a lot. For one thing, he wanted her to be careful. Obviously she was going to come along with him; it was a given. He just hoped that this time around, she was able to fight back if needed. Most of all, though, he hoped this didn't come down to fighting. They needed information more than another battle. He headed to the door, ready to get this over with and set things right.
Kairi made eye contact with Riku for the first time since he yelled at her, and she smiled weakly. We'll be fine, she told him silently. She would try her hardest to defend herself and take the pressure off Sora; it was never okay that he was defending two people instead of just himself. She left the room behind him, Snow and Noel already outside. It was time they got things done.

Light heard the door shut behind everyone, and that left her alone with Riku. She wondered how this was going to go now. He'd try to comfort her in anyway that he could, but he didn't know what this was like. Her whole family was gone and now the last remaining member was dead along with them. It wasn't fair... She felt moisture well behind her closed eyes yet again, threatening to spill over. It wasn't fair.
Once the door closed, silence filled the room. But Riku knew it was more than just silence--it was full of sorrow, grief, hurt. He turned his head to look at Lightning over his shoulder, just gazing at the back of her head. What could he do to help her? She just lost her sister...

Light curled up a little more, a tear sliding down her cheek. Serah was Lightning's reason for fighting for so long. Her reason to exist. Granted, Lightning knew that she lived and fought for Riku now. She wasn't stupid enough to discount how important he was in her life. But he wasn't Serah. He wasn't the same. She doubted even he could fill that hole.
Riku lifted his hand and lightly started rubbing Lightning's leg, close enough to at least do that. He wasn't sure what he could say to make things better, and he doubted there was anything that could be said. Serah just...died. Riku pressed his lips together at the fact, unable to accept it. She was so innocent...and good. She didn't deserve to die.

Light peeked her moist eyes open, looking down at Riku as he stroked her leg. Even in her grief, she felt bad for him. He probably felt like he was the one who had to make her okay again, but that was going to be an impossible task. Serah was her little sister--her sunshine and dreams. She lived to see Serah succeed and now Serah was dead and she didn't know what to do. Did she dare have dreams like that again, but transfer them to Riku? Did that disregard Serah's life somehow?

Riku met Lightning's eyes, only to look away when he saw how much sorrow was within them. He couldn't witness that. It was hard to see. He continued to rub her leg with the tips of his fingers, not sure what else to do. What did Lightning need from him right now?

Lightning looked away as well, staring at the back of the couch. She didn't hear Serah tell Riku this in Valhalla, but her words still rang true. When Lightning sensed that nobody was willing to face her and her crazy emotions head on, she retracted and distanced herself further and further away from people. That was what she was going to do with Riku unless he proved that he could handle her extreme grief.
Riku let his hand rest on top of Lightning's leg after a moment. He didn't want to smother her, but he didn't want to leave her alone either. She needed somebody...and he was all she had left besides Hope, who was nowhere to be found. Riku needed to love Lightning...and he hoped that was enough.

Lightning shut her eyes after a few moments. Riku didn't understand. He understood a lot about her--how she needed to change her name to cope with various situations and how guarded she was when it came to love. But he wasn't there when she lost her parents. He didn't know how to deal with her grief. And if he couldn't help her...she was hopeless. She couldn't face this one alone.
Riku lifted himself from the couch, but only so he could kneel in front of it near Lightning's head. "Lightning," he called softly. He wanted her to turn and face him. He wasn't sure what good he could do, but he was going to try. Lightning needed him.
