Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku felt sad at that, his expression surely showing it. "Lightning..." he tried softly. "...She's gone." Serah would never physically be with any of them again. Serah's memory and presence in her heart was the best Lightning was going to get. She had to know that.

Lightning furrowed her eyebrows at the words. Riku just ruined it there. She didn't want to hear it. "I got the memo," she said in nearly a growl. There was no reason that Riku had to repeat those stupid words to her now. Serah was gone. Gone forever and she was to blame. No need to rub in that fact.
Riku caught that growl, and he lowered his eyes, then closing them as he brought a hand to his face. "That's not what I meant..." he muttered quietly. He didn't want Lightning to take it that way. He just meant that Serah's presence in her heart was the only option. It was either that or nothing, but...clearly he said the wrong thing.

Lightning glared at Riku halfheartedly before she rolled back over onto her other side, facing away from him. He may have meant it in a completely different way, but she didn't want to pry. If she did, she'd probably still hear something that she didn't want to hear. This was just another reminder that he didn't know what he was getting himself into here.
Riku heard the movement and opened his eyes, lowering his hand to Lightning's waist. "C'mon, don't shut me out," he quietly begged. He didn't want her to turn her back on him and ignore him. He wanted to help if he could. But...maybe he wasn't doing so well.

Lightning shut her eyes, hearing Riku's heartbreak. He was only trying to help her. And...if she lost him...she'd have nobody. She rolled over onto her back, turning her head and looking at Riku with moist eyes. Whatever happens, don't leave me alone. Please. She couldn't face this world alone.
Riku's hand now rested on Lightning's stomach, his eyes now on hers. He read the message clearly, and shook his head. I won't. Promise. He would never abandon her. He couldn't, not like this. Not ever. Lightning was his life now, moreso than his friends.

Lightning gazed at Riku's eyes for a few more moments before she looked down at his hand on her stomach. She moved her hand and grasped his as she sat up, moving over to one side of the couch and giving his hand a light tug. The message was as obvious as the last one--She wanted him to sit up here with her.
Riku kept his hand in Lightning's as he rose to his feet and moved to sit on the couch. Once he was close to her, his side against hers, he intertwined their fingers. Even though she was wearing gloves, he could still feel the warmth from her hands against his calloused ones. They were in this together; that was why he was here, and not with the others. His friends could handle the other stuff for right now. Riku belonged here.

Lightning shut her eyes and leaned her head against Riku's shoulder. A tear snaked down her cheek, but this time, the fear was out of losing Riku. She knew that she wasn't always lovable and easy to put up with. She was afraid that she'd push him away somehow in her grief and he'd give up on her. Or....she was afraid of losing him to death, like Serah.
Riku turned his head and kissed Lightning's hair, not minding at all that it was dirty from all of the trouble they'd been through lately. He continued to hold her hand as he set his chin on her head, looking at the bland room. This would not be their lives; things would get better eventually.

...If it ever comes down to me dying or you dying, Lightning thought randomly to Riku. Let me die. Without Riku in her life, she was dead anyway. He was it. The last family that she could cling to. She had Hope and Snow, but she wouldn't be surprised if Snow wanted to shut Lightning out of his life for a little while because she was a reminder of Serah. This situation was just too awful for everyone to be okay easily.

Later

Kairi sat in the living room with everyone else, though nobody was speaking to each other. At least Lightning wasn't as upset as she was before, though; Riku must have gotten through to her while they were gone. They didn't make much progress, since most of their day was full of fighting off guards. Kairi did most of the defending than attacking, placing healing and protective spells on the others to ensure their safety. She tensed with a small gasp, however, when she felt something ominous nearby, her heart sensing it. Looking up from her seat on the couch, she saw Riku appeared ready to leap from his spot on the sofa next to Lightning. Something was wrong...very wrong.

Lightning was cuddled up next to Riku, her arm over his stomach and his arm around her shoulders. After many attempts by Riku to get her to sleep, she was finally dozing off a little. She was aware of her surroundings for the most part--Well, just that they were in the living room along with everyone else. She wasn't aware of the tension in the air until somebody loudly opened the door.

The prophet was the one who entered this little shelter that the humans made for themselves. He saw a brunet stand up straighter as soon as he arrived, but he didn't summon his weapon right away. No weapons would protect them from what he was going to do anyway.

Riku didn't mean to be rough with Lightning, but he moved out from under her as soon as the door opened. He rose to his feet instantly, knowing that this guy was the source of the Darkness he sensed earlier. It was the prophet. He heard Snow growl a low "You..." not too far off, but Riku focused on standing in front of Lightning. What did this guy want?

"You may all relax for the being," the prophet said as he moved to the middle of the room. He stopped there, seeing everyone spread out quite nicely. He was out of their reach for now. Even if they could reach him, though, they didn't stand a chance against him. He was a god after all. Pulse in disguise. "I could have summoned all the warriors of this land to face you, yet I came alone and without a weapon." He looked at each person individually, taking in all their weaknesses. Gazing at the pink-haired one sitting up behind Riku was easy to study. He knew her well.

Riku saw the way the prophet looked at Lightning, and he tilted his head slightly, frowning. He stepped over to be more in front of her, blocking her from the prophet's view. "What do you want?" he asked lowly, naturally defensive. He could see even Kairi looked ready to attack, and she had to be, since Sora wasn't close enough.

"I wish to take you all off my world," the prophet declared without flinching, gazing at Riku. "You all tried to stall the return of Bhunivelze, and for that, you must perish." Siding with Etro meant that they were against Bhunivelze, and along with him, Pulse and Lindzei. This warriors picked the wrong side of this battle.

"Who?" Kairi asked without thought, her curiosity speaking for her. Who was Bhunivelze? She had never even heard of them before...but by the way the guy spoke of them, they must have been a god. She looked from Noel, who stood near her, to the prophet. Would he even explain, or would he just get rid of them, like he said?

"Bhunivelze is the god who opposed Etro," Pulse explained, shifting his gaze to the redhead. "He was meant to be the god of this world, but his mother sent him and locked him away in Valhalla. He was unable to come to this realm until Etro's gate shattered, and so here he is now. And I am his humble servant, Pulse."

Lightning sat more upright at the name, looking past Riku. "Pulse," she repeated, shocked. Pulse was a god. He was the god of Gran Pulse for...well, forever. And he was on the side of Bhunivelze, the god who just turned Pulse into a timeless and dreary realm? Really?

Riku briefly looked over his shoulder at Lightning's shocked reply, but he focused back on the prophet. Or rather, Pulse--the god himself. "A god acting as a servant?" he taunted lowly. "Doesn't seem very fair to me." This was not only surprising, but ridiculous. Regardless, Pulse wasn't going to hurt anyone here. Everyone was prepared to defend themselves...and he especially hoped that for Lightning.

"All gods are created for a purpose," Pulse said without missing a beat. "Bhunivelze's is to rule this realm. Lindzei's is to inflict justice on another unruly world. And mine, once I dispose of any threats, is to govern this world in the name of the ultimate god." He felt Chaos swarming around his hands, though he was casual about it. This wouldn't kill them. He'd leave that to the spell's aftermath.

Noel spotted the Chaos, and he took a small step forward. "...What other 'unruly' world are you talking about?" he asked. He didn't quite get it. Cocoon was gone, and Pulse just said he would rule of Gran Pulse. What other world was there to govern?
  • Author

"I believe some of the other members of your group know that world well, Noel Kreiss," Pulse said, giving the boy a look to say that he knew who he was and his history. "The world is called Destiny Islands." He heard Sora grunt at that, and if he would have turned around, he would have seen a stunned and angered expression.

Kairi's gasp of fear didn't go unnoticed by Riku, even if he did speak over it. "No!" he cried. Not the Islands...not their home. Lindzei would hurt their families and friends... They couldn't let it get that far! Destiny Islands wasn't unruly by any means; it was paradise. Why would such an innocent world be targeted?
