Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Sora walked away from Kairi and the Keyblade, leaving it sit there as he approached the wall he was leaning against before. He slid down against it and stared at the weapon, lost in his thoughts. Why wasn't I good enough for you? Why did you have to judge everything by appearances too? Riku was so confident back then. So strong and capable of absolutely everything. He was the center of everyone's attention and Sora wasn't. Was there something wrong with him?

Kairi blinked in confusion, not understanding what was going on here. Sora randomly summons the Keyblade and then walks away? It didn't make any sense. But she didn't really have the energy to think about it. Kairi leaned back into the couch and drew up her knees, burying her head in her legs as she lightly sniffled again. This all needed to be worked out soon. She and her friends couldn't keep acting like this. It was miserable.

Sora rose to his feet after maybe a minute. "I'm going for a walk," he declared, leaving the Keyblade on the ground by the couch. Hopefully he wouldn't need it. While he had a lot of anger, he didn't want to fight because the weapon he'd use was part of the problem. He glanced at it again before he lifted his gaze to his childhood friend. "Riku, come with?" Maybe they could talk this out. Or would he not come because of Lightning?
Riku hesitated only a second before nodding. He turned to look at Lightning, lifting a hand and lightly touching her back. I'll be back soon, he told her silently, hoping his touch was enough of a message. He lowered his hand and started toward the door, though Sora was closer. He had a feeling this would be more than a walk.

Sora was surprised that Riku was coming along, but he didn't go against it. He was the one who made the request after all. He lifted a hand and rubbed the back of his head as he started for the door. He opened it and stepped outside, seeing no guards. He wondered if they would be a problem anymore or if Pulse had them pull back to worry about other people. The god probably expected the group to self destruct now.

Riku followed Sora out before shutting the door behind him, waiting for Sora to lead. Clearly he wanted Riku to come with, but why? Especially since Sora was just glaring at him inside the small house. It didn't make much sense, but Riku wouldn't pry...for now.

Sora started walking, but he didn't say anything right away as he stuffed his hands in his pockets. What was there to say? "Riku, you were never as worthy as I was to recieve the Keyblade to the Realm of Light. I'm better than you." Yeah, as if he'd ever say that. He and Riku competed all their lives to be better than the other, but this was a different type of better. Way different.
Riku walked alongside Sora in the silence, looking around Gran Pulse's version of Valhalla. He wasn't sure if every Valhalla looked the same or different, depending on what world it covered. Regardless, he took in the sight, hoping to never see it again after the next few days. If they could get things done in that time.

Sora looked down at his feet as they walked, thinking. But he figured it'd be easier to decipher Riku's thoughts than his own at this rate. "What did he tell you?" he asked quietly. Pulse didn't only talk to Sora, right? He must have said something to everyone in the group. That was why Kairi was crying and Snow was so furious at Lightning.
Riku frowned at the question, not liking the way this conversation started off. Pulse...of course. "...He told me I couldn't help Lightning," Riku revealed lowly. Well, that was only part of it. But he would get to the rest...but he would wait, since it involved Sora.

Sora's lips turned downward at Riku's comment. Lightning. Of course it was about Lightning. These days, she was the only thing that mattered to Riku. It was just a week ago that Riku was his best man, and now he didn't seem to give Sora or Kairi a second thought. That ticked him off to no end...but he stayed silent as they walked down the street. He wasn't stupid enough to say something bad about Lightning right now.
Riku didn't elaborate on the subject, glancing over at Sora before focusing forward. "You?" he asked, referring to the same question. What did Pulse say to Sora? It affected Sora heavily, obviously. Sora wouldn't have kept the Keyblade back at the house if that wasn't the case.

Sora shook his head. "Nothing," he said lowly, pressing forward. There was no destination in mind, obviously. It wasn't like they knew the layout of the city in the first place. But as for Riku's question--Well, he just didn't feel like answering. Riku had bigger and better issues to worry about than Pulse getting inside Sora's head and messing with his self-worth. Whatever.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed at that, and he looked to the side. "I doubt that," he muttered. Pulse said something degrading to everyone...or just plain cruel. Pulse didn't grant anyone a free pass. Besides, Riku could tell Sora was lying; he just knew him that well to tell.

As soon as Pulse saw this future coming, he knew he had to act. It was one more necessary step in creating a split in the group. So, as Sora and Riku approached the empty town square, he had the whole area surrounded by soldiers. The army had their guns trained on Riku alone, and Pulse stood on an overhanging balcony as he gazed down at the scene.

Sora stopped when they were a few steps out into the open, grunting roughly in surprise. All around them, there were soldiers! Hundreds of them! He got into a defensive position but didn't summon his Keyblade, his surprised eyes going up to Pulse. Well, apparently his logic earlier had been wrong. Pulse was still pursuing them. Little did Sora know that wasn't all Pulse was doing.

Riku growled lowly under his breath, eyes narrowing at the sight of the soldiers. He looked around, his hands out at his sides in a ready position. If he needed to summon his Keyblade, he would. But...what was Pulse going to do? From his position, Riku couldn't tell all the guns were focused solely on him. Not yet.

Pulse smiled, gazing at the brunet who was staring right back at him with confused and angry eyes. "That was quick," he commented to Sora. "Thank you for bringing him to me so quickly. You may step aside now, Sora." The brunet blinked in surprise, and his naive nature was making itself known now. He didn't understand it, but Pulse was setting him up so it looked like he purposely brought Riku here to betray him. And Riku, after hearing what Pulse said to him earlier, would believe that was the truth.

Riku blinked, confused. He glanced cautiously from Pulse to Sora, not understanding what exactly was going on here. "...Bringing me to him?" he checked lowly. What, was Sora the delivery boy? And what was Riku? The package?

"I tried to warn you, did I not?" Pulse asked Riku, seeing that the dots were connecting more quickly in his mind than in Sora's. "I told you that he would betray you." He noticed Sora grunt in surprise to that, but he was fitting into this act just as well by reacting that way. Pulse loved working with the humans. Such foolish beings, but such good puppets they were.

Riku's hands curled into fists. So this was what Pulse was hinting at? That Sora would lead him away from his loved ones and bring him to die? "...Yeah, you did," he acknowledged lowly. Pulse did tell him that. But...why would Sora actually do it?

"Wait, what?" Sora asked in confusion, looking from Riku to Pulse. Riku had said that Pulse told him about Lightning...was that a lie? And why would Pulse tell Riku that he was going to betray him? Sora would never lead Riku to his death, no matter how upset he was with him! Did Riku actually believe Pulse?

"You played your part well, Sora," said Pulse with a wicked smile. "Now I suggest you step aside. These soldiers won't wait forever."

Riku's fists only tightened as he ground his teeth together. A heavy breath left through his nose, the young man preparing for something bad to happen. Would Sora step aside, or would he stay? Riku sincerely hoped his friend would never betray him in such a way. Sora wasn't that heartless...

"I had no part in this!" Sora said to Riku, eyes wide as he looked over at his best friend. It finally clicked what was going on now, and what Pulse was trying to set him up for. As if that would actually happen! He looked over to the side sharply when he heard a gun go off, and he instantaneously summoned Oblivion to block the bullet that went for his heart. After that, all the guns went off and the chaos broke loose.
Even before Riku summoned his Keyblade, a memory flashed before his eyes. Of a fight against Xemnas so many years ago, where he and Sora had to block hundreds of lasers that could kill them upon impact. This was the same. Riku started moving instantly, twirling his Keyblade as he moved in a blur to deflect the bullets. He suspected Sora would be there to guard his back, like he was in the past.

Sora had the same memory as Riku, but he wasn't sure how this one would go. It became apparent that Riku was depending on him, just as Sora was depending on him. There was no way that they could get out of this alive if they didn't back each other up. So obviously, he protected Riku's back while Riku watched his. But there was a stray bullet that Sora couldn't block--one that hit Riku's leg soon after the fight started.
