Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Sora stood up a few yards away from the chair, looking around the room that he had never seen before. There were books in here books about Gran Pulse and its history. Strange how artifacts of the world were still here even if Valhalla overtook it. Of course, those thoughts were just distractions from the real problem. Him and Riku.
Riku looked at Sora, despite the fact that Sora wouldn't look at him. "...Tell me the truth," he requested softly. Sora lied earlier when he said Pulse didn't say anything to him. Clearly that was a lie, since Pulse was talking about Sora being the delivery boy a while ago. Riku wanted to know just what was going on here.

"The truth?" Sora repeated, momentarily confused. He thought Riku was asking him if he set him up, but then it clicked that their conversation earlier had been interrupted. He sighed, turning away halfway as he gazed at the ground. "...Pulse said some things, about you being the rightful owner of the Keyblade and not me. And just...It made me angry." Not angry enough to lead Riku to his death, obviously. Nothing like that.
Riku already knew where this was going, just by the way Sora explained. "...You don't think I deserve it," he assumed. Pulse put that into Sora's head, or Sora thought it originally. Either way...it was kind of the truth. Riku was the original heir to the Kingdom Key, but his path to Darkness made him unworthy. It was his own fault.

Sora lifted a hand to his face, running it back through his hair after a moment in frustration. "Why shouldn't I have been the rightful heir?" he snapped lowly in frustration. "I was the one who had the right heart in saving the princesses. I was the one who saved the worlds. Who saved you?" He shook his head, looking over at Riku in anger that wasn't necessarily directed at his best friend. "Did the Keyblade judge you the same way everyone else did? You were stronger and more popular, so it made a shallow choice and chose you?" Nothing against Riku's heart or anything, but...That was how he felt.
Riku's eyes now rested on the floor, his eyebrows furrowed against his forehead. Sora was really upset about this, and he knew this wasn't new stuff brought up. This was built up frustration from all the years...wasn't it? He didn't say anything, not sure what to say in the first place. Calling the Keyblade shallow for choosing him was calling Riku shallow at the same time. That was offensive.

"The rest of the world already knew you were a great guy," Sora stated, seeing Riku's look of offense. "I get that you weren't a complete jerk back then with all the Darkness. But really? Could you have done what I did? Could you have followed the right path if you had the Keyblade and do everything I did?" Sora didn't think so. So that made him worthy of the Keyblade, didn't it?
"I get it," Riku muttered, glancing up at Sora before looking away again. He wasn't worthy of the Kingdom Key. Clearly, since he didn't have it. Sora did...so wasn't that enough? The Kingdom Key rejected Riku...and that was something to be ashamed of.

Sora sighed. "I'm not trying to be a jerk, okay?" he said. Sora wasn't that kind of person who got pleasure from bringing people lower. "I just..." He turned away, hands curling in frustration. "I want to feel like I'm the first choice for something important, for once." He was Kairi's first choice, he realized. But in the case of the Keyblade? In the case of the Organization resorting to facing Sora when they couldn't bring back Roxas? When Xehanort couldn't get his hands on Ventus so he tried using Sora for the X-blade? He was always the back-up plan, and he hated it.
Riku looked up at Sora finally, realizing something Sora didn't. "The only reason the Kingdom Key belonged to me first was because of Terra," he stated. Terra passed on the Keyblade to him when he was little, when Sora had no idea what was going on. It wasn't his fault. "And it rejected me. My heart was darker than when I was little. Yours was the same as it had always been." It was purer than Riku's and that wasn't something to be ashamed about.

Sora looked over at Riku, taking in that information. He knew that Terra passed on his power to Riku, but... "That logic doesn't work," he declared quietly. "I had Ven's heart inside me--the heart of a Keyblade wielder. We were on an even playing field and the Keyblade still picked you over me." They both already had connections to the Keyblade but it went to Riku. It was because of his strength after all, wasn't it?
Riku shook his head. "It doesn't work like that," he said with a small shake of his head. "Just because Ven's heart was inside you didn't mean you automatically earned the Keyblade. Maybe I didn't even earn it, but Terra thought I could handle it one day." Riku shrugged, then motioning to Sora. "Looking back, you handled it before I did...and better too." That was something Sora could be proud of.

Sora glanced down at the ground as he set a hand on the back of his neck. Riku's logic made some sense, but... "I'll need to think about it some more," he said quietly. He'd have to reflect on everything that he never thought about before and come to a conclusion about this himself. Riku couldn't control the outcome of it by what he said here today, but he did have some input, obviously. He was Sora's best friend.
"Sora," Riku said softly, pushing himself up from his seat slowly. When he was standing, he fought the urge to wince, remaining composed. "Your heart was strong enough to harbor that of another. If you want to be the first at anything, think back to that memory." Riku couldn't do that, ever. He doubted he had the ability. "And remember... The Kingdom Key is yours, not mine. It made a mistake in choosing me. I had it for only a few minutes... You've had it for years. It belongs to you." Riku wasn't worthy of the Kingdom Key, but apparently he was worthy of the Way to Dawn. Whatever that meant.

Sora nodded slightly, noticing Riku's wince. "You should head back out and rest," he said, jerking his head in that direction. "Lightning's waiting." He didn't mean it in a bitter way like he would have before. He meant what he said. And knowing Riku, he meant what he said as well. He was right about one thing at least: Ven's heart came to him first. That was something special.
Riku nodded a little, starting toward the door at a light limp. He stopped next to Sora, though, placing his hand on top of his friend's head. He smiled weakly at him and lightly ruffled his hair. You're my best buddy...no matter what. He lowered his hand and started out the door, moving slower than normal because of the bullet wound. But there were a lot of things to recover from. He and Lightning would do that together.

Sora watched Riku go, waiting until his friend was at the doorway to say what he was thinking. "Thanks." Sora felt like an idiot for having these doubts now and not a few years ago, but Riku humored him in this anyway and he appreciated it. This was the beginning of their recovery as friends. At least, that was how Sora felt.
Riku stopped when he heard the soft reply, turning around to look at Sora. His weak smile remained as he simply nodded his head in response. No problem. He then tore his gaze from Sora's and walked down the hallway to reach his beloved. She was tired...and so was he. But then again, he bet everybody was. It was time to get some rest and face all of this later.

Sora waited until Riku was completely out of sight to take his friend's seat. He leaned forward and stared at the ground, hearing the silence surround him. He definitely had a lot to consider, and in a way, he hoped Kairi didn't come back here. As much as he loved her, sometimes she didn't know when the appropriate time was to ask questions. This wasn't one of those times to pry for answers.
Kairi was sitting next to Lightning now, resting on the couch as she tried to help her out. Lightning used her white magic to heal Riku, but it took a lot out of her. Kairi figured she could at least try to help, but comfort was the best thing she could come up with. When Riku came into the room, she turned her attention to him, a question in her eyes. He looked...different, than when he left. And when he saw the second question in her eyes, he shook his head. Now wasn't the time to go check on Sora, she guessed. As his wife and friend, Kairi would let him have his privacy. She wasn't really sure what to say right now anyway.

Lightning opened her eyes when she heard a faint noise, turning her head wearily and looking over where Riku was standing. Her eyes shone with concern as she looked at him. Of course they did. Riku had recollection of a future where all of Lightning's family died, so he knew that she was going to cling to him and worry about every little thing for an extremely long time. There was still Snow around, but they hadn't spoken since the fight earlier. Maybe he'd never want to speak to her again. And if that was the case, that only increased Riku's importance.
Riku looked to Lightning from where he stood and lifted a hand, holding it out to her. He wanted nothing more than to rest at that moment, tired, weak, and hurting. He was sure Lightning was feeling the same. He figured that to help settle a bit of those troubles, they needed to sleep. Riku was ready.

Lightning picked herself up off the couch, glad in a way to be away from Kairi. The redhead had meant well, but after what was said earlier about this all being Lightning's fault, things were still a bit tense. She walked over to Riku and grasped his hand lightly before she wrapped his arm around her shoulders. He could lean on her.
Riku saw what Lightning was doing, and he smiled weakly. He slowly turned the both of them around and started down the hall, wanting to rest for right now. He didn't have much of a clear head anymore, and he hoped that sleeping would help with that.

Light briefly glanced at the room Snow locked himself in earlier before looking down to the ground. He despised her; she knew that much and accepted it. She deserved it after all. Whatever fury he didn't dish out, she would. She didn't deserve happiness after what she did to Serah. When she and Riku reached another bedroom, she helped him sit down. He needed to get the weight off that leg.
