Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Serah looked down at the ground, listening to the silence for a few moments. "...I should let you go," she said softly, withdrawing her hand. It was time for Riku to return to the real world. As for Serah (well, this part of her), she'd stay here in Lightning's heart. Her spirit lived on here, but her soul was in Heaven now. She was happy, but...she wouldn't be completely happy until Lightning was okay again. Snow, Noel, and Riku too.
Riku's hand lifted to grab Serah's before he could think twice about it. He stared at his fingers circling her small wrist, not wanting to say goodbye. This girl was like a sister to him, like Kairi and Namine. Saying farewell would be...hurtful. What was he supposed to tell Lightning?

Serah blinked when Riku grabbed her, surprised by it at first. And then she was touched. Even without him saying anything, she knew that he didn't want to say goodbye. "Don't worry," she said with a small, comforting smile. She lifted her free hand, lightly poking his chest with her pointer finger. "I live in your heart too." So they wouldn't be apart completely.
Riku looked down at his chest, but then he lifted his gaze to her. He smiled weakly and nodded, agreeing. That was right. She did live in his heart, and he was glad for that. He would miss someone who was like family to him. Riku pulled Serah to him and gave her one final hug, knowing that even if he was sleeping, dreaming of this, it was still real in his heart.

Serah gently wrapped her arms around Riku in return, running her hand over his back in a soothing way. "One more thing," she whispered, shutting her eyes and furrowing her eyebrows in sadness. "Don't act so strong around her. Cry with her when you need to cry." It was okay for Riku to cry, and to do it in front of Lightning. She'd join right in and even if they were both sad, they'd be sad together. That was much better than being sad alone.
Riku hugged the girl who was like a sister to him, staring at the stained glass portrait of Lightning. Even in the portrayal of her heart she was sad, and he closed his eyes, squeezing Serah gently. "Alright," he said softly. He understood. He wasn't superhuman, even if having the Keyblade made him pretty close. Riku would never be invicible as far as emotions went...and he knew Serah was right. He couldn't be strong all the time.

Serah smiled softly, reassured. Riku wouldn't leave Lightning to fall. This was just another adversity that Lightning would rise above. She had faith in her sister, even if she didn't have faith in herself. She had faith in Snow and Noel to be okay, and Riku too. She had faith in all of them.
"Is there anything you would like me to tell Lightning?" Riku asked after a moment of silence. Was there one last message that Serah wanted him to pass onto her sister? Or would Serah somehow convey the message herself?

Serah almost shook her head, but then thought of something. "Tell her that you were right, and that I am here inside her heart," she said softly. She turned her head and looked up at Riku, knowing that she wouldn't be able to see him like this again. She would miss being physically present with him. He was like a brother to her.
Riku turned his head when he felt Serah's gaze on him, pulling away slightly. His hands lingered on her shoulders as he gave her a reassuring smile, nodding. "You got it," he promised gently. He would be sure to pass on the message to Lightning, for Serah's sake. It was the least he could do for her, as her last wish.

Serah smiled softly, nodding to show her appreciation. She didn't say anything verbally on the topic, but there were also a lot of other things between her and Riku that were left unsaid. Not because they were ignoring issues, but because they knew the other person already got the message without it being said aloud. "Close your eyes," she instructed him gently. When he opened them again, he'd be awake and with Lightning.
Riku's eyes softened at the instruction, figuring quickly that this was Serah's way of telling him it was time to go. He lowered his hands from her shoulders and took one last look at her. This would be the last time he saw her, and the thought caused his eyes to burn with sudden tears. It was hard, losing someone who was like family. It had never happened to him before, and while he wasn't incredibly close to Serah in the past, he kind of wished he would have tried a little harder. Riku smiled weakly at the person before him, that being his silent farewell. He closed his eyes as she instructed, ignoring the fact that one tear managed to slip from his eye and trail down his cheek. He loved Serah as family, but not nearly as much as Lightning. He hoped Serah knew that, even in death.

As Serah and Riku said their silent goodbyes, Lightning was awake. She had been for a few minutes now, even if Riku wasn't. If she had her eyes open, she would have noticed his sad expression. But as things were, she didn't see it. Her forehead remained against his as he slept, her hands on both of his cheeks as her thumbs lightly ran over his skin. He wasn't with her mentally right now, but she knew that he was okay. That was what her heart told her.
Riku sensed a bright light even behind his eyelids, and he knew that he was leaving Serah. The next thing he knew, warm hands were on his cheeks...and he was on a soft mattress. Riku's eyebrows furrowed in sadness, aware that Serah was gone now, and he would never see her again. He opened his eyes, not surprised that they were already tearing up at his latest goodbye, and saw Lightning. She was awake...thank goodness.

Lightning breathed a soft breath, unaware that the strange feeling of peace that she held in her heart was because Serah was at peace now that she made sure Light was going to be alright. But her heart felt...different, all of a sudden. Emptier. Nevertheless, she wouldn't question such a trivial feeling right now. She just continued running her thumbs over Riku's soft cheeks, unaware that he was awake.
Riku lifted one of his hands to Lightning's wrist, feeling her thumbs running over his cheeks. He was sad...but how was she feeling? Did the dream scare her, or was she okay knowing that Serah was alright? He was sure his reassurance of that subject would help her to feel better. It helped him, even if he was fighting tears.

Light peeked her eyes open when she realized Riku was awake, realizing that because of his touch. Her thumbs ran over his cheeks for a few more moments but then stopped when she realized that his eyes were very moist. Riku was...going to cry? She was confused about what caused that surge of sadness in him. Though she was sad, she wasn't on the brink of crying at that very moment.
Riku swallowed thickly, looking at Lightning with moist eyes. He knew she recognized that he was close to crying, and he didn't care, remembering what Serah said--it was okay to cry. Lightning would be there for him, as he was for her. "...I saw Serah," he revealed softly, voice trembling slightly as he fought his emotions.

Light blinked in surprise. She knew that Riku wasn't referring to the same Serah that they both saw in her dream, but a different Serah. Though she didn't understand (and her eyes reflected that), she felt tears appear in her eyes just because of Riku's emotion. He saw Serah...How? Why?
Riku moved his hand from Lightning's wrist to lightly nudge her chest with his finger. "I was in here...and so was she," he told the woman he loved, voice soft in the dark room. "She wants you to know that she's always with you, right here. Light...she's okay now." He ground his teeth together to fight the tears that wanted to spill, cursing himself for his shaking voice. But...he was sad. He couldn't really help it.

Light shut her eyes, a tear sliding down her cheek. Riku told her that Serah was there earlier, but hearing him now, she believed him. And with the feeling in her heart, she couldn't very well deny it. She should have been panicking over Riku not waking up when she did. But she didn't. The peace she felt was so explainable that she had to credit it to Serah.
Riku saw that tear, and he closed his eyes, moving closer and burying his face in Lightning's neck. His own tears started to spill, his body tensing. He would miss Serah greatly, but he was sure Lightning was feeling the grief more than he was. Riku would be there, though, through thick and thin. Always.

Light moved a hand to the back of Riku's head, the other sitting on his back. She turned her face so it was against his hair, her tears actually gentler than his in this case. With how much crying she did in the past day, she didn't have the energy to sob anymore.
Riku had his arms around Lightning's waist as they rested on the bed, his face buried in her soft skin as he cried. He did it silently, though a sob or two was obvious every few minutes. He was just sad that he wasn't as close to Serah as he could have been, and that they didn't visit her more. Most of all, Riku was upset that Lightning lost someone so special to her. It was tragic.

Light's crying became harder because of Riku's crying, her arms also tightening around him as they both cried. She never thought she'd see a day where Riku was crying so willingly. He was always so strong and not sad. She knew he was sad with Serah's death, but now that she was seeing it, she didn't feel so alone.
