Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku was doing as Serah wished, openly expressing his sadness to the woman he loved. Right now, he guessed strength didn't matter. Death always changed someone, or broke down their walls. That was what was happening to both him and Lightning, as they cried together. Riku hated to hear Lightning's sadness, but couldn't the same be said for him on her side? It was like an endless cycle that way, since her cries made him cry a little harder.

Lightning shook in Riku's arms, just as he was shaking in hers. "Is she alright?" she asked after crying for a long time. "Really?" Riku had said that she was earlier, but sobbing now, Lightning needed to hear him say it again. If Serah was truly alright, then some of these tears were tears of relief.
Riku took his head out of Lightning's neck, looking at her in the darkness of the room. He nodded a little, lifting one of his hands to Lightning's face to wipe at her tears. "She's happy now," he told her softly. She knew that Lightning was going to be okay, so that was what caused her contentment. Serah was at peace.

Light allowed Riku to wipe at her tears, her eyes staying locked onto his. Even in the darkness of the room, she could see that they were red from crying. She was sure that hers were the same. But to Riku's words, she nodded softly. "Why couldn't I talk to her too?" she asked, another tear dropping from her eye. Did she do something wrong?
Riku felt a tear leave his eye at the question, and he wiped at the newest tear that trickled down Lightning's cheek. "Only Keyblade wielders can reach a person's heart physically," he said, remembering what Serah said to him. "But Serah's in there spiritually, Light. Everything you feel or want to say, she already knows." They were connected through one of the strongest bonds--their hearts. Nothing went unsaid between the sisters in that way.

Light fought to hold back tears, nodding again. Serah knew what she was thinking...what she wanted to say. All the guilt, and sorrow, and regrets. Serah knew how sorry she was. Just thinking about telling Serah about it made her want to bawl her eyes out.
"She didn't tell me, but I know she loves you and wants you to be happy," Riku whispered gently. The sadness in Lightning's eyes killed him inside, but this was to be expected. She was grieving. "I want the same, and I'm going to try and make it happen." He moved his hand to her hair, his fingers weaving through the soft strands. "Will you try with me?" Could they both attempt at being happy again?

Lightning glanced down towards Riku's chest, two more tears dropping. "It's too soon to think about that," she said softly. Happiness and all that...it was so far out of reach. The world was Valhalla, Serah was dead, Snow was furious with her, and the rest of her friends from Pulse and Cocoon weren't around. Happiness seemed impossible to obtain right now.
Riku leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss to one of Lightning's cheeks, silently accepting that answer. That's okay. We'll go at your pace. She was the one most affected here, since this was her sister who just passed. And after everything, Valhalla was here, despite how she struggled to keep it from happening for a year. Riku would give her time to recover, and help solve this problem. But that would come in the morning.

Light shut her eyes, just savoring Riku's closeness and comfort. She was so exhausted from all the emotions that she just wanted to pass out again, but she was afraid of nightmares. The only reason she made it out of the last one was because of Riku. If he hadn't come, she still would have been lost.
Riku kept close to Lightning, letting his face nuzzle into her neck as he started to calm down. Now was time for them to rest. Come morning, things were going to get crazy again. And while he hoped things went well, with Pulse things wouldn't be so easy. But he would be there to help Lightning, just as she would be there to help him. They stuck together, no matter what.

"You'll be with me?" Lightning breathed, wrapping her arms around Riku more tightly as she hoped to give him the same comfort that he gave her. So what if she was the one who had the greatest loss? Riku lost a friend too and he had a right to be grieved. Lightning wasn't selfish enough to think that Serah only mattered to her.
Riku nodded a little into Lightning's neck, his arms back around her waist. "Of course," he murmured softly. He wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon...or ever, for that matter. Lightning was stuck with him now, whether she liked it or not.

Lightning felt Riku's hair tickling her cheek, but she ignored it and just took in his entire being. "I love you," she declared softly. She felt as if she hadn't said that often enough. Because Riku was the one that she loved, and the only one who would ever fill that position. There was no comparing him to anyone else because he was so unique to her. He always would be.
Riku gently squeezed Lightning at the declaration, keeping her close. But she was doing the same to him. He doubted they would be letting go for a while, or letting the other out of each other's sight. "I love you too," he whispered. One day, after everything was over, he hoped to make that declaration at the altar. And afterward, for a very long time.

Lightning shut her eyes, knowing that she'd never stop hearing those words. She just...She just hoped that she wouldn't turn into somebody else to cope with Serah's death. Because Riku loved Lightning, not Rose. This was who she truly was. All her good and bad attributes rolled up into this one person. And this person, however flawed she was, was worthy of Riku's love.
Riku allowed himself to relax in Lightning's embrace, releasing a soft breath. Experiencing everything in the dream realm, and then all of the emotions revolving around Serah, exhausted him. Goodnight, he told the woman he loved silently. He would see her when he woke up, and hopefully she got some rest. She wouldn't be going into the dream realm again, not with Riku around to protect her.

"Riku?" Lightning murmured after a few moments of silence. She just thought of something--something important that was going to keep her awake. If she fell asleep again, she'd probably fall back into that nightmare. If that happened...well, she wouldn't want to think about that. Facing her friends as enemies again wasn't a pleasant experience.
"Hm?" Riku hummed quietly, nearly asleep. Dealing with so much in such a short amount of time took a toll on a person, and he was surprised Lightning was still awake. Especially after the events in the dream realm. She had to be exhausted.

"What if I fall back into that nightmare?" Lightning mumbled, moving slightly in her spot out of anxiousness. She couldn't fall back into that; she just couldn't. Maybe the Serah that she saw there was real in some way, but to her, so were all the other people who turned against her. Seeing Serah and not being able to talk to her...wasn't worth being attacked again. She hoped that wasn't a bad thing to feel.
Riku opened his eyes, spotting Lightning closeby. "That was something I forgot to mention," he said, voice low in the quiet room. "Serah said for me to tell you not to worry. Since I pulled you out of the nightmare before, Caius's spell won't work on you again." In other words, she was safe. Caius's spell was no longer effective.

Light felt her body slump in relief, her hold on Riku loosening for the same reason. "Mm," she hummed weakly, nodding in the same manner. That was good. Really good. Now maybe she could experience a little bit of peace. Not really though. As long as she was suffering with her feelings of guilt, she'd never truly feel at peace.
Riku brought Lightning a little closer, though he couldn't do much; they were close enough already. He decided that he would stay up as long as she would, which meant that if she was going to be up for a while, so was he. Riku wasn't going to leave Lightning alone in this. Her time of grief was shared with him.

Though Lightning was exhausted in every sense of the word, she couldn't fall asleep for a long time. She was thinking about Serah, and Snow, and even Noel. Their sorrow and anger towards her. Perhaps Serah wasn't angry, but Snow definitely was. How was she supposed to get on without him? She never used to care what he thought, but now she did. He was her family. She tossed and turned for a little while, feeling bad for Riku. She was probably keeping him awake with how she couldn't get comfortable. She rolled over one more time, facing away from Riku now.
Riku had his eyes closed, but he wasn't asleep. He let his hand rest on Lightning's arm when she turned over again, though he hoped that was enough to let her know that he was there for her. He wouldn't let her suffer alone; it wasn't who he was. He had to go through Darkness alone before, and it was anything but pleasant. Lightning wouldn't be going through that.
