Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light lifted a hand and grasped Riku's, gently setting it on the bed as she sat herself up on the edge of the bed. As her feet touched down to the ground, she leaned forward and put her hands to her face. This was awful. All she wanted was some relief! She'd rather be hit in the head and knocked unconscious than to be staying awake like this.
Riku opened his eyes at the movement, watching Lightning sit up. Her back was to him still, and he propped himself up on one elbow as he gazed at the back of her head. "...Light," he said softly. What was wrong? Why couldn't she sleep? The nightmare wouldn't hurt her again. Or was it still Serah who bothered her?

"Sorry," Lightning mumbled without moving. "I can't sleep." She was just too restless. She didn't want to be here--awake, but she couldn't make the jump into slumber. It made her angry but more sad than anything else. Just a little relief would be nice. But that wasn't Riku's problem. He could go to sleep.
"It's okay," Riku said softly at the apology. He should have figured Lightning wouldn't be able to rest. Her sister passed, she was dragged into a nightmare, and Snow was furious with her. Life was far from easy right now, especially since all of their homes were turned into Valhalla. But...all Riku could do was be there for her. There wasn't much else.

"Get some sleep," Light said quietly to her boyfriend. Just because she was stuck here didn't mean that Riku had to be as well. He already jumped into a nightmare with her and cried with her. She couldn't ask anything more of him. After all, she knew that he was exhausted too.
Riku shook his head. "I'm staying with you," he told Lightning softly. If she was awake, so was he. He had gone days without sleep before, and while it was unhealthy at the time, it was necessary. Just like now. Lightning needed him, and he wanted to help if he could.

Lightning shook her head softly, lowering her hands to her knees. "Just because I'm suffering doesn't mean you have to," she stated softly. She wasn't even sure what to do with herself right now. If she had more tears, she would have cried some more, but she didn't. She was anxious enough to pace the room but didn't have the energy to. She was stuck here in this position of uncertainty.
Riku moved on the bed, positioning himself so he was behind Lightning, though he was facing the same direction as before. He lifted the hand he wasn't leaning against to her waist, kissing her shoulder. "When you're hurting, so am I," he said gently. "Your burdens are mine too." That was how things were in love. It just worked that way.

Lightning shut her eyes, feeling a tear trip from one of them. "That's not fair," she declared quietly, voice shaking a little bit. Why was she always responsible for her loved ones being in pain? Riku felt pain whenever she did, and that was quite often. Now Snow was hurting, and so were Sora and Kairi. They blamed her for this and rightfully so. She was to blame, as always. Maybe she deserved the pain, but nobody else did.
Riku looked at Lightning in the darkness, confused for a moment. But then he understood. "Oh...no, Lightning," he started, sitting up a little straighter as he looked at the side of the woman's face, still behind her. "Honey, that's not what I meant." He didn't mean it negatively. He would never mean it like that.

"I know," Light said quietly, keeping her eyes shut even if she felt Riku's gaze on her face now. "It's still not fair. I bring so much hurt to everyone..." She did it to Riku in the past, when she didn't trust him enough. She was doing it to others in a different way now-by taking Serah away. No matter how she did it, it was still awful. It was obviously her fault so many were sad.
Riku frowned, instantly thinking of his best friend. "Don't let what Kairi said get to you," he told the woman he loved. "She's just...living in a fantasy." Kairi got the dream wedding and honeymoon, but life would never be that way. She had to realize that, and if this wasn't her wake-up call, Riku didn't know what could be.

Lightning nodded softly. From what she knew, Sora and Kairi had great lives. Sure there was some chaos in the past, but the past few years had really been good to them. It encouraged Kairi to want a perfect world that she could never get. It was the opposite of Lightning. The past few years had been cruel to her except for Riku. If she didn't have him, she'd be completely in despair.
"Come back to bed," Riku encouraged gently, his hand still resting on Lightning's waist. "I'll help you get to sleep." Or at least, he would try. There was only so much he could do, but he would do it. For her.

Lightning found herself nodding softly again. "Okay," she said quietly. Laying down on the bed was just as good as sitting up or pacing the room. This was miserable. She didn't want to be awake. She only wanted to sleep if she knew for certain that it would block out reality for a little while. Would she be fortunate enough for that to happen?
Riku moved back to his side of the bed to make room for Lightning, prepared to coax her to sleep. Comforting her seemed like the best choice, because that was what she needed most. She needed a sense of security, and he hoped he was good enough for the job. Serah even said he was, and Riku trusted her.

Light automatically laid down flat on her back, turning her head on the pillow and looking at Riku past her pink bangs. She wasn't sure exactly what he had in mind, but if she wasn't in the right position, then he'd surely tell her to move. She didn't care what happened as long as she slept. She needed an escape.
Riku was on his side, and he gazed at Lightning for a few moments. She was easy to see due to his time in Darkness, and he hoped that she never had the ability; a time in Darkness wasn't worth it. And right now, and until this was over, he was trying to keep her from falling that deep into grief or despair. Riku lifted a hand and lightly cupped Lightning's face, running his thumb slowly over her smooth skin. It'll be okay... Just trust me.

Lightning's eyes flickered shut after a few moments, her head turned towards Riku as his thumb ran over her skin. At times like this, she found it hard to believe that they were both warriors. She never would have imagined herself here a few years ago. She never would have imagined she'd be alright with being vulnerable. But...this was a good change as long as she was with Riku. She trusted him.
Riku continued to gaze at Lightning, and though she closed her eyes, his thumb continued over her skin. Just relax, he silently asked of her. Comforting was all he could do right now, especially when Lightning needed to rest. After a moment, Riku took back his hand. "...C'mere," he encouraged her gently. He wanted her closer.

Light peeked her eyes open, though she didn't really need to for the movement. She rolled over next to Riku, automatically lowering herself so that she was closer to his chest. She didn't mind being smothered tonight, especially if she was smothered by Riku's warmth and care. She wished she could find the words to thank him for everything, but the words were caught in her throat.

Riku silently tucked some of Lightning's hair behind her ear, then leaning his head forward to press a kiss to her forehead. He then moved his hand to her back, starting to rub circles in the fabric of her shirt. Get some sleep, he wished of her. Lightning needed to rest, or the next day would be horrible for her.

Light put her face against Riku's shoulder, eyes shut as his hand began to circle over her tense back. Slowly, she began to relax in his hold. Relax, not sleep. It would take much longer for this action to soothe her into slumber, if it was even possible. When Riku neared a spot on her upper back, she remembered what she thought earlier. That she'd rather be knocked out than conscious any longer. Could Riku just...knock her out, by pushing a pressure point? Would he be willing to do that, or was that why he was rubbing her upper back now?
Riku stared at the opposite wall for a long time, continuing his motion on Lightning's back. He could still feel the tension there, so she wasn't asleep yet. But could he really expect her to fall asleep right away? No, he couldn't, and that was why he didn't give up. She had to go to sleep eventually...and if that was at dawn, so be it. He would stay up with her until then.

Lightning knew she had to ask. Even if it upset Riku that she was so desperate to get away from this reality... She lifted one of her hands and reached behind her, lightly moving Riku's hand so that his thumb was against the pressure point. If he didn't understand, she'd verbalize it. Please understand...I just can't take this reality anymore...
