Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning reached down and grabbed the wet rag, gently wiping it at her neck. It didn't hurt because there was no wound there...even if she noticed a scar. Just another reminder of what happened back there. She wiped a little harder, pulling it away from her neck and looking n the mirror. There, the blood was gone. But also in the reflection, she could see Riku...and his expression.
Riku met Lightning's gaze, but he instantly tried covering up any vulnerability on his expression. He didn't want her to know what he was thinking. It was depressing, and that was the last thing she needed at that moment. She lost Serah, was nearly killed by Snow, and had a lot to do concerning Bhunivelze. Riku wasn't going to burden her with his thoughts.

Lightning shook her head softly, lowering the rag to sit on the sink. "Don't do that," she said quietly. Riku shouldn't have covered up his emotions with her. Right now, the last thing that she needed was people being fake with her. Even if he had troubling thoughts (and clearly he did), she wanted to hear about them. Not that she couldn't guess what they were about. Snow tried to kill her...
Riku looked away, eyebrows furrowing slightly. He wasn't going to ask what she meant; clearly Lightning saw his expression harden when she looked over. But he didn't really regret it. Lightning needed someone who was strong, and he was going to try and be that person. He couldn't be weak.

Lightning stepped over, lightly setting a hand on Riku's stomach as she stood right beside him. She knew that she couldn't change his mind; he was going to be strong for her whether she wanted him to be or not. And a selfish part of her did want that, just not at Riku's expense. She hoped it wouldn't hurt him too badly to ignore his own emotions for a little while and deal with hers. If she found out she was causing him pain, she'd pull away emotionally and maybe never come back to who she really was. But if it was either that or hurting Riku, she'd retract. She loved him.
Riku focused on Lightning then, expression still hard as he blocked out any vulnerability. Right now, she mattered most. She was going through the most trouble, and because of that, she needed the most support. He would do what he could to support her.

But...Lightning couldn't just let Riku do this. He was acting like she normally would have, shutting out emotions. Whatever excuse there was for it, it wasn't good enough. That was hypocritical considering what she just thought, but she wouldn't focus on her own hypocritical standards. "I don't want you to be emotionless," she said quietly, looking in the mirror and seeing both of them together.
Riku looked at Lightning for a moment, but then he followed her gaze to the mirror. He saw the two of them beside one another, and he lifted a hand to put on Lightning's lower back. "I need to be strong for you," he told her lowly. For her, and for himself. While it was good to give in to emotions sometimes, now wasn't a good time. They had to be strong enough to face Bhunivelze. They couldn't be manipulated.

"No, you don't," Light disagreed softly, continuing to look at the reflection. Her own expression was the same as it had been since she found out about Serah's death--defeated. And that was how Riku appeared before he put up his mask. "I need you." Riku was strong a lot of the time naturally, but he was also honest with her. Right now, by putting on this mask, he wasn't being honest with her. In that sense, he wasn't Riku.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed slightly as he looked at Lightning's reflection. "...You have me," he answered quietly. He was here, wasn't he? But he realized now that Lightning was probably describing something deeper than that. Something more than just his heart or his presence.

"In one sense," Lightning agreed quietly, lowering her gaze to the ground. Riku was here with her physically, and she definitely had his heart just like he had hers. And she...She shut her eyes and leaned her head against his shoulder. She wanted to be his forever and have him be hers. She wanted more than anything to be married to him and be called his wife. She wanted it so badly that she could cry.
Riku turned his head away from the mirror and instead looked down at the person leaning against him. He was confused... What was wrong, other than the obvious? Was it him? Did he do something wrong? He ran his hand up her back slowly, waiting to see if she would say anything.

Lightning opened her eyes again, surprised with herself. She just thought of a future. A future that didn't completely suck, even if Serah wasn't there. Riku... "As long as I have you," she said quietly, though she didn't finish the sentence. What was she going to say, that she wouldn't give up? She didn't want to make that type of promise when there was a possibility despair would make her falter. He didn't deserve empty promises.
Riku was just as confused as before, if that were possible. He lifted his free hand to Lightning's face, trying to lift it so she could look at him as he turned to face her completely. "As long as you have me," he started, also finishing for her, "you'll be safe. Protected. Loved. Happy." He would try his hardest, even if the future looked bleak.

Lightning looked up at Riku when she stood right in front of him, her hand sitting on his waist now instead of his stomach. She took in the words, believing in the promises behind them and the person who gave them. If all that was true, then... "I want to have you forever, then," she declared softly, connecting these promises to her thoughts a minute ago. She wanted him forever, as her husband.
Riku brushed some of Lightning's hair away from her face. "You will," he confirmed softly. "Soon." He knew what she was getting at, and he would give her that future as soon as he could. But right now, it just couldn't happen. They were facing too much for him to propose, and he wouldn't do such a thing just after Serah died. That wouldn't be right.

Light nodded softly, taking in that promise as well. She believed that she and Riku understood each other, not that there was much reason for confusion. They always used to talk about spending forever together. One day it clicked that marriage was even better than forever; it created an even stronger bond than what they already had. Maybe marriage could take away some of her sadness with Serah. Did she even deserve happiness though, after what she did?
Riku leaned forward, pressing a light kiss to Lightning's forehead. Once this mess was over, they would start picking up the pieces of their lives that they lost along the way. He wasn't sure how long it would take, but once they recovered, he would move towards marriage with the woman in front of him. It would be best that way.

Lightning shut her eyes at the kiss, staying still for a few moments before she lowered her hand to her side. She figured that she and Riku should probably return to the living room now, where everyone else was. There was probably going to be a confrontation with Snow too. Did he still have that gun he used to threaten her?
Snow sat on a solo chair in the living room, his head buried in his hands. The room was quiet, save for a few whispered conversations going on. Mostly with Hope, since he was so lost on everything. But he was going to be filled in soon, about what Snow nearly did. He would be furious.

As Lightning and Riku returned to the room, Sora finished filling in Hope and the others that came later about everything. Including Snow and why he threatened Lightning. Unfortunately, none of them had any idea what happened when it was only Pulse, Snow, and Lightning in the room, but they were alive, so he supposed that it made little difference. He looked up, seeing Lightning glance over at Snow but not stare for long.
Riku stayed near Lightning once in the living room, the softness he used with her gone now that he was within Snow's presence. The man had a bruise on his jaw from Riku's slug earlier, and a part of Riku was proud to see the mark, but it didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Snow had some explaining to do.

As soon as the group recognized that Lightning and Riku were back, everything was silent. She kept her gaze on them all as they looked back at her, though her gaze was on one person specifically. Hope. ...Did he know that Serah was gone? Did he know that Snow tried to kill Lightning earlier?
Hope met Lightning's gaze, though it wasn't as soft as it had been before. Instead, it was hardened with anger, especially at Snow. Hope was there when Serah passed, so he knew that part of the story already, but this last bit...with Snow taking Lightning away. He was beyond angry.
  • Author
Lightning looked away in silence. Was Hope's anger directed at her? Did Sora say that it was her fault that Serah died? If that was the case, she'd expect Hope to be furious at her as well. Noel wasn't angry at her for some reason, but Hope could be. However, Sora didn't say that in his recapping. He was too kind to place the blame on her.
