Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Sora shrugged casually, looking up at the blonds. "Even I have to be quiet at some point, right?" he asked as lightheartedly as he could. He could be serious too, and right now, he was seriously thinking about the Keyblade again and Pulse's assurance that when Valhalla was gone, Sora wouldn't have it anymore. Did he even want it now, though, when it didn't want him at first?
Riku looked at Sora, just as the others did, but his gaze held more sympathy, sadness. He had a feeling as to why Sora was so "quiet," if that was even the excuse. It was more than that, Riku knew it was. And he was sure it had to do with his and Sora's conversation not too long ago. The fact that his friend was still upset about that hurt Riku, the young man turning his head and looking down at the ground, arms still crossed over his chest.

Sora felt many gazes on him, and none of them were believing that he was just quiet. He looked around until his eyes rested on one Keyblade Master in particular. "Aqua, can I talk to you about something?" he asked randomly, rising to his feet. He knew now wasn't necessarily a good time to split from the group, but she was the most experienced Master here with a lot of knowledge about the Keyblade. Maybe she could answer his questions.
Aqua blinked in surprise, not expecting Sora to want to speak to her out of everyone in the room. But she nodded. "Of course," she replied gently. She saw him rise to his feet, so she supposed they would be going somewhere more private to talk. Aqua hoped she could give him whatever answers he sought.

Sora didn't glance over at Riku, knowing Riku assumed what they were going to talk about. It made sense though, considering how knowledgeable Aqua was. He still remembered they had a rough patch as friends a while back, but they were good now. And he trusted she wouldn't tell anyone about the conversation. He headed outside, trusting she would follow.
Aqua caught a few concerned gazes, but she only smiled weakly at her friends. "We'll stay close," she promised softly, then following Sora out of the house. She shut the door behind her and started across the pavement after the young man, curious as to what it was he wanted to talk to her about. Something was troubling him, but what?

Sora put his hands in his pockets, walking beside Aqua after a few moments. He'd cut to the chase, since he knew they shouldn't have been apart from the group for too long. "I've been wondering lately," he started as he looked ahead. "Do Keyblades for specific realms go to people through inheritance ceremonies too?" If they did...Riku's argument checked out. If they didn't, then there'd be a problem.
Aqua's eyebrows furrowed at the question, still confused but answering anyway. "It depends, I suppose," she told him, walking leisurely along the pavement. "I take it you're asking about yours." The Kingdom Key was the Keyblade of the Realm of Light, that much Aqua knew. As for Sora's question, she had a hunch, but she wasn't entirely sure. It would take a moment to figure out; Master Eraqus did inform her of this in the past. She just had to remember it all.

"Yeah," Sora answered with a small nod. Even if Aqua said that the Keyblade came because Ven's heart was inside him...He still wouldn't take it well. Because then it was about Ven and not him. He was always second to Riku growing up. He never wanted to be second place again.
"Mm," Aqua hummed in understanding, gazing ahead as she sorted through her memories. Once she found the right one, she spoke. "If I remember correctly, Master Eraqus once told me that the Keyblades of Realms were a little more specific with their choices of wielders. Keyblades are particularly picky anyway... Yours is one that can be affected by an inheritance ceremony, but it relies more on the strength within a person's heart." It made sense, at least.

"What do you mean, it can be affected by an inheritance ceremony?" Sora asked, briefly glancing over at Aqua. Did that mean...the Keyblade would have chosen Sora first if it hadn't been swayed by Riku's inclination to the Keyblade? No, that didn't make sense--He had Ven's heart inside of him. That should have put them on an even playing field. Right?
"You could say that it increases your chances of being accepted," Aqua said, looking over and meeting Sora's gaze. "However, with Keyblades of Realms, it can react differently. Those of Realms are the strongest, and because of that, the effect of the inheritance ceremony could be rejected. Most of the time, it's left to chance." In other words, the Keyblade of Light that Sora was now using could have been affected by a ceremony, but the chances were slim to none. Realm Keyblades were tough to crack; the heart was the most influential aspect.

Sora hummed casually, though his mind was reeling. Aqua was saying...the Keyblade didn't choose Riku because of the inheritance ceremony he did with Terra. It didn't choose Sora because of Ven being in his heart. It chose Riku because Riku was Riku, and he always wound up on top. That made him... sad. Sadder than words could really describe, though he tried to keep that hidden from his expression.
"...Sora," Aqua started, placing a hand on the young man's arm as she stopped him. She had to look up at him now, as he had gotten taller since she'd met him. But...he was still the young man with a loving heart. He was soft, and she had a feeling that the trait sometimes put him at a disadvantage.

"Hm?" Sora hummed in question, turning to look at Aqua automatically when she stopped him. He was certain his expression was guarded, considering that he was keeping a lot to himself. What was he going to do with what Aqua just told him? He couldn't place the blame on Riku, right? It wasn't his fault he was chosen over Sora for everything in life, Keyblade included.
Aqua kept her hand on Sora's arm for a moment, but then she let it fall. "If you don't mind me asking..." she started gently, tone showing her concern. He was always so happy. She understood that the effects of Valhalla hurt them all, but his sorrow was exceptional. "What brought this on?" Something had to trigger this. What made him question his power?

"Oh..." Sora said, lowering his gaze to the ground and to the side. He...wasn't sure he wanted to say that Pulse told him, because Aqua would discredit him and tell Sora not to listen to the god even if he was right. But Aqua was his friend, and she deserved the truth... "Riku and I talked about it a little while ago," he said, being partially honest. "And since neither of us knew much about it, I wanted to ask you." That didn't answer why he was so eager to speak to her, but oh well.
"I see," Aqua said with a small nod. She diverted her gaze as well, still a little lost. However, she wasn't going to pester Sora any further about that topic. "Well...did I help you understand what you wanted to know?" Her eyes found him again, curious. If she had done a good enough job, she would be satisfied. But if there was anything she needed to elaborate on or answer, she would. It was what friends did.
  • Author
"Yeah," Sora said with a small nod, his eyes back on Aqua by now. "Thanks." It was good to know the truth, even if it hurt. A lot. But he wouldn't bother asking Aqua, Riku, or anybody else about this again. Now that he knew for sure, it was up to him to choose what he did.
Aqua lifted a hand and placed it on Sora's upper arm in good nature, her motherly side coming out again. She smiled weakly at the young man. "We should get back," she said, glancing back the way they came before lowering her hand. They hadn't been gone long, but it was never a good idea to stay away for very long.
  • Author
"Alright," Sora agreed with a small nod. He motioned for Aqua to come along as he started back, knowing that they really weren't gone long at all. The others would be curious, but they wouldn't pry. Hopefully when they returned, everyone would be talking about what to do with Pulse anyway.
Aqua went back to the house alongside Sora, finding that nobody was as quiet as they were when the two of them left. It seemed like a group discussion was going on, with Hope leading and everyone throwing in suggestions. But she was confused... What were they talking about? But that was when she heard the last god's name: Bhunivelze.

Namine sat down on the couch next to Roxas, listening to Hope as he tried to reason through which world Bhunivelze would be on. Not too many people were humoring him in conversation--just Terra and Roxas. Snow, Riku, and Lightning seemed lost in their own thoughts, and so did Kairi. But now Namine believed she had something valuable to say. "Radiant Garden always seems to attract trouble," she pointed out. Maybe Bhunivelze was there.
Hope lifted an eyebrow. "I don't believe I've ever heard of it," he admitted with a small shake of his head. He didn't go to many places other than Gran Pulse and Destiny Islands, and the last one was usually a stretch. He didn't exactly have an easy way to get between worlds like the others.
  • Author
"A lot has happened there in the past," Terra agreed, only briefly glancing at Sora and Aqua when they came back in. He looked back at Hope, since he was the main person leading this discussion. "I'd say it's worth checking out." The Keyblade Graveyard wasn't worth it, considering that the only things that happened there were connected to Keyblades. Bhunivelze wasn't like another Xehanort who would go there.
