Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"I agree," Hope said, hands clasped together as he sat on the couch. "When shall we leave?" He was willing to get started right away, since he didn't want Bhunivelze getting any further progress on destroying the worlds. Lindzei and Pulse were gone, which meant it was down to one. And without the others, he could be taken down more easily.

Terra shrugged casually, looking around the room. "Right away?" The day was still fairly young. At least, he felt that way in his body. It was hard to tell without a sun shining in the sky. But he noticed others shrug in the same way, as if it didn't matter when they left. So he supposed nothing was keeping them here, and nobody needed to rest.
"Whenever is fine with me," Roxas said, scratching the back of his head. A few of their group weren't paying attention, but he caught Noel nod over to his side. He guessed that Riku, Snow, Lightning, Sora, Aqua, and Kairi needed to put in their two cents. Roxas figured that since Namine was in the discussion, she was okay with leaving too.

Namine nodded softly, looking around and seeing a lot of people weren't paying attention. "Okay, but...how do we get there?" She didn't believe there were enough gliders for all of them to hitch a ride on. Last time they traveled, they didn't need to worry about Snow, Noel, or Hope. She didn't think Gummi Ships existed in this reality, so...what were they going to do?
"I assume that it may take multiple trips," Hope said, looking at Namine now. "But I know that Snow can still summon Shiva, and Lightning Odin, if possible. Perhaps they can be of some use to us." He looked to Snow at this, who was lost in thought. Same with Lightning. He would have to discuss it with them in private, then.

Namine nodded in silence, looking over at the two that Hope just mentioned. Obviously they were lost in their own thoughts. They had a lot to think about, considering what happened earlier that day. Maybe it would have been better to stay put the rest of the day and deal with personal issues...They couldn't be this distracted when facing Bhunivelze.

Radiant Garden

Roxas walked through Radiant Garden along with the rest of the group, keeping close to Naminé on purpose. With Bhunivelze still out and about, caution had to be taken. Considering Riku could sense the Darkness the best, he led the way, heading toward this Valhalla's town square. It was when he stopped just outside it that Roxas tensed.

Riku's hands curled into fists, his nose wrinkling in disgust. He tisked, looking around before gazing at the group behind him. "Whoever we thought was here, they're close," he revealed lowly. He frowned, facing forward again. "Everyone be on your guard." They went through enough with Pulse and Lindzei. Whoever waited for them reeked of Darkness.

Namine shifted uneasily on her feet. Of course she was nervous. She was a witness to the horrors of Lindzei and what she did to the Islands. She wasn't even the leader. What was this Bhunivelze going to be like? "...Should we really be looking for trouble, right now?" She hoped at least Riku knew what she was referring to. Namine, Roxas, Aqua and Terra may have been ready for battle, but everyone else seemed really spooked by something. She knew part of the reason was what happened with Lightning, Serah, and Snow, but there seemed to be more than that. Shouldn't they have been taking the time to fully recover from all that, instead of charging into battle?

"If we stayed, we wouldn't have made any progress," Hope declared, catching a few people's eyes. Riku nodded ahead in agreement. "We may need to be ready to fight, but staying in that house wasn't doing anything to help our advances." Meaning, if they stayed, they would have moped. Serah wouldn't have wanted that, and Hope definitely didn't either. They needed to confront the last god, whether they were ready or not. This had gotten out of hand enough as it was.

While Namine nodded softly, Lightning blankly kept her gaze ahead. Despite Riku's warning to stay on guard, she wasn't necessarily putting that into practice. Snow dropped a bombshell back on Gran Pulse. The fact that Serah's death wasn't her fault left her feeling awestruck. If anything, it left her in a daze. She was still trying to sort that out in her head. The fact that she was free of guilt tugged at her mind, telling her that she needed to snap out of the feelings of guilt and focus on ending Bhunivelze's reign of terror. But jumping out of the guilt wasn't so easy. It was still so hard to believe Serah's death wasn't her fault.

The silence acted as encouragement to go on; if no one was going to object any further, Riku would lead them on. He walked ahead, passing a few buildings. But once they were all in what should have been Radiant Garden's town square, Darkness appeared. The element appeared as wisps of air, flying around the area like ghosts. Riku looked around at the ones that flew directly above them, seeing them begin to form in the middle of the area.

Sora automatically stepped between Kairi and a whisp that was flying at least three feet away. It was Darkness, but it was different from what they normally fought. This Darkness was called "chaos", and apparently it didn't invoke any feelings of weakness in Kairi, Namine, and Lightning like regular Darkness did. "Still okay?" Sora asked lowly to Kairi. He knew it wasn't supposed to affect her, but if it did, he was there to protect her. Even if he was mad at the Keyblade, he would use it to protect what he loved.

Kairi nodded, watching as the wisps of Darkness gathered in the center of the area. "For now," she said softly. At the moment, she was fine. The Darkness was unnerving, as usual, but there were no brutal effects. The longer it lingered, the more it would probably get to her. But she would worry about that some other time. She couldn't be weak, despite her sad heart.

Not only was the darkness gathering in the middle, but it was also whirling around them. Enough moping, Lightning told herself, trying to snap out of her daze. Pay attention. This can't end well... She looked around the area, accidentally tapping Riku's back with her shoulder when he stopped walking before her. She didn't get a chance to apologize though. Her eyes caught onto  movement to her right. Glancing over, she saw a person walking out of some darkness towards them. Oh, great. I'm hallucinating again... She saw Serah stop and stand there while looking right at Lightning. I thought these hallucinations stopped, but I guess I was wrong. Great. But I can't tell Riku. He'll worry again. As if he wasn't worried enough already.

Riku caught the movement as well, only glancing out of the corner of his eye before looking back to the center. But then he did a double-take. "...No way," he muttered. This couldn't be real. This had to be another one of Pulse's illusions! But....Pulse was dead....

Snow took a step forward instantly, eyes wide. "Serah?!" he cried. It had to be. The person before them... She looked just like his wife. She had to be real. This would be too cruel of a hallucination if it weren't. She's alive...?

  • Author

You're joking, Lightning thought in disbelief. She wasn't the only person hallucinating? Snow and Riku were too? Judging by how everyone else turned and looked at that same spot, she realized it was affecting all of them. That was reassuring that there wasn't something specifically wrong with her, but still. Serah wasn't alive, and she wasn't here. Or...was she? The voice she heard come out of the twin's lips sounded exactly like her sisters!

When everyone's eyes landed on her, the girl didn't do much to react. Snow's outburst already alerted them to her presence. Half the group didn't look like they believed she was Serah Farron. People like Snow, though, were too eager to believe. They were too optimistic--too stupid. "Lumina," she corrected the bulky man who shouted out a false name. She wasn't Serah. She was Lumina.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed. Lumina? he thought, confused. No, she had to be Serah. They were identical. "Her scent is the same," Riku murmured to the woman beside him, Serah's sibling. He wouldn't mistake that scent for anyone but Serah. It was too sweet, too gentle. Like a breath of fresh air. So what was with the Darkness?

  • Author

Suddenly, it clicked. Serah was here, and alive. If Riku said that it was Serah's scent, and that was Serah's appearance, then of course it was her! Lightning slowly started walking towards the girl some distance away, registering the slightly ticked expression Serah wore but not piecing together that anything was severely wrong. Serah was here, and alive! This was some kind of joke to break the ice, she just knew it. Serah just didn't know that all of them were too devastated by her death to laugh so suddenly, that's all.

Snow didn't take his eyes off Serah, or Lumina, or whoever. Not even Lightning's movement could distract him. His wife... She was right here, only yards away. He couldn't believe this! He smiled, releasing a breath of relief. Thank the Gods! She was here! "Serah..."

"Lumina," she snapped in correction. She knew that as much as she said her name, nobody would believe her. But the harsh tone was enough to make Lightning stop just out of arms reach and hesitate. "I'm not really Serah. And you--" she motioned to Lightning. "Aren't really Claire."

Lightning blinked for the second time in surprise. It was rare for Serah to use the name "Claire"; she knew that it was a soft-spot. But more than being alert because of the name, she was alert because of the messages Serah was conveying. "What are you talking about?" she asked, confused but not on guard. "Of course you're Serah, and of course I'm..." She reached out a hand towards Lumina, the anger becoming more evident in her expression. What was going on here?

Okay, something was wrong. Riku took a small step forward. "Lightning..." he called softly, cautious. She needed to be careful. Something with Serah--Lumina, wasn't right. She was...different, more temperamental. Serah wouldn't do that in the past. The girl he spoke with in Lightning's heart was so gentle and content with how things were, so what happened? Was this Serah at all?

Lightning shook her head softly, withdrawing her hand. "I see," she said quietly. "The darkness messed with your memories..." But of course the memories were still there. Serah just created a new identity when she didn't have past memories. Identity crises apparently ran in the family. It fit perfectly; that was why she "wasn't really Serah" when she obviously was. She was caught off guard, though, when Serah moved faster than she had ever seen before. She didn't even have time to blink before Serah's chaos-enhanced movement allowed her to reach into Lightning's pack, pull out her knife and unfold it in front of her.

"You still have this, huh?" Lumina asked rhetorically, casually opening the knife as she held it upright. "You always were a sap when it came to us. Who'd have thought you'd keep a memory of that day on you all the time? The day I told you I was cursed and you threw me out of the house..." She looked up, seeing Lightning's astonished expression. "As you can see, my memory's fine."

Snow took a few steps forward, closest to Lightning compared to the others. "What're you doing?" he asked. "Serah, snap out of it!" She was clearly still Serah; she had her memories! Only Serah could remember that day apart from him and Lightning. So why was she acting so...cruel? His Serah would never do such a thing, especially towards her sister.

Lumina didn't even bother to correct Snow. Instead, she had a retort ready. "Even if I tried to correct you again, you'd be too stubborn to listen," she said with a sugary-sweet smile. "You're too stubborn to even die...That was Lightning's opinion of you. Right, Lightning?" The soldier was too caught off guard to answer directly. Finally, she realized something was seriously wrong.

Hope stared at this Lumina in confusion, but also suspicion. "Lightning....get back," he advised lowly. This clone of Serah, or a mind-warped Serah at best, was putting him on edge. She was temperamental, cruel, and conniving. If nobody kept their distance, she was bound to snap.
