Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku pulled back a little to look at Lightning. "You've been on the floor this entire time, haven't you?" he asked. While he was gone, she was sitting on the floor. She hadn't been in the bed since Snow put her there hours ago. He didn't agree with that decision either, but it was too late for that.

Lightning didn't look up to meet Riku's eyes. Her guilt was obvious enough that she didn't need to answer the question. "Never mind that," she said quietly. Riku didn't need to worry. All she did was sit on her knees with her forehead against the wall, but so what? She hadn't felt like moving anywhere.

Riku slowly pulled Lightning's arms away from him, then turning her on the spot. He gently ushered her toward the bed, and though it was small, he would still stay with her. He was away for a while on his own, and when his Darkness was beyond his control, the only thing he needed was his Light. The thought of her did some good, but it wasn't the same as being in her presence. That was where he would be for a while.

Light sat down on the bed with Riku's soft urging, though she was on the move soon after that. She gently moved as Riku sat down and placed herself behind him. Without speaking a word, she began to trace her fingers over his back. If he needed to talk to her, she was obviously here and ready to listen. If not, that was okay too.

Riku looked over his shoulder at Lightning, confused. "Lay down," he told her softly. "Don't worry about me." He had his time to cool off. He was fine now. She needed to rest before anything else. Everyone else was forming a plan. She could rest up in the meantime.

Light shook her head softly as she continued rubbing Riku's back. "I'm fine," she repeated, saying it the second time to Riku and the twenty-third time within the past few hours. Sure, she had a lot on her mind, exhaustion and emotions running wild, but what else was new? On this roller-coaster of grief, she was used to feeling this dead.

Riku reached behind him, turning at the same time as he grasped Lightning's hand. "Fine isn't good enough for me," he told her lowly, his eyes finding hers. He wanted her to be well-rested and ready to face Lumina again. But even more than that, when all of this was over, he wanted her to be happy. With him. He always wanted that.

Lightning shut her eyes briefly before her gaze returned to her knees. She wanted to tell Riku not to press his luck; she wasn't going to be anything more than fine with this recent bombshell of Lumina and Caius. Instead, she just sighed tiredly. Unfortunately for her, Riku was about as stubborn as she was.

"You don't have to sleep," Riku clarified. "Just rest and I'll clean you up." This wouldn't be the first time he wiped blood from her skin. He would do it again, if that was what made things a little easier for her. He wouldn't give her the burden of having to clean up the blood Lumina spilled.

Lightning's eyes opened completely at the mention. "I don't want you to have to do that," she said as she found his eyes. He wiped wounds clean before, but this was different. He knew the agonizing pain that went with this, and as he washed her clean, she knew he would be dwelling on that. He would be studying her, looking for even more blood and finding it because it was such a serious wound. No, he couldn't suffer like that.

Riku squeezed Lightning's hand. "I don't want you to have to do that," he replied quietly. He knew that the wound was more than physical; Lightning's heart was breaking because of Serah's, or Lumina's, betrayal. She wouldn't bounce back from that so easily. Riku would clean up what little mess he could to make it easier.

Lightning sighed again. She didn't want to do it either. And there was no way she was letting anybody but Riku close enough to do it. "...Are you sure you'll be alright?" she checked. He could still say no. She could get a rag and wipe away the blood herself if necessary. She was already carrying so many burdens; one more wouldn't make a huge difference.

Riku nodded in silence, a frail smile resting against his lips. It was kind of her to worry over him when she was in the worst shape, but he could handle it. Riku dealt with worse sights before, after all. Once he got done cleaning her up, he and Lightning could rest together.

Light tried to smile back at Riku, but it looked more like a grimace than anything else. She took her cue and began to lie down on the bed, gradually slipping her hand out of Riku's so he could rise. "Go tell everyone else that you're okay first," she requested. Even if he wasn't okay, she wanted him to see his friends for just a few seconds to reassure them he wasn't hopeless..

Riku's smile slowly faded as he nodded again, rising to his feet. He then started out, but Lightning knew he would be back. He left the room and shut the door quietly behind him, approaching the area where his friends were gathered. He made eye contact with Kairi first, and she sat upright at the sight of him. But then Riku saw Sora next to her, who had witnessed the chaos earlier. As proud as Riku was most of the time, he didn't want his best friends to be disappointed at his moment of weakness.

Sora stood up when Riku entered the room. Everyone was on full-alert, waiting for when Riku would wander out of Lightning's room if he even did. Fortunately, Sora was closest to where Riku entered the room, and he knew just what to say. "I'm proud of you," Sora said simply, setting a hand on his friend's shoulder. Just like Sora changed to have the wisdom to say those words, Riku also changed. Sora witnessed Riku explode in arguments before. This time, Riku restrained himself and walked away without doing damage to anyone. For that, Sora was really proud of his best friend.

Kairi could easily detect Riku's confusion, but after a moment he understood, and she smiled softly. "Me too," she said in agreement to her husband. She was proud of Riku's self control. It took a lot when Darkness was involved, but he handled it very well.

Riku looked from Sora to Kairi and then to Roxas, seeing him nod a little. Aqua too. Noel didn't know much about Riku's Darkness, but he was a good enough person to keep Riku in place when the time called for it. "Right... Thanks."

Behind Sora's back, Namine and Terra also shared their agreement. Sora smiled at his friend, genuine. Riku was ashamed of his Darkness on occasions like this, but today, Riku stood strong and kept control of himself. He came a long way from what he used to be. Sora pat his shoulder and stepped away, figuring Riku probably came out for a reason other than this.

Riku lifted a hand to head, running it over his short hair. "I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm okay," he said lowly. "And Lightning's fine, too. So...no worries." They would both be okay. As for Snow, Riku doubted he and Snow could be in the same room together for a while. They at least needed a day away from each other to cool off completely. Riku wouldn't forget those insults so easily.

Sora nodded and sat back down next to Kairi. "You're going to spend the rest of the night with her?" he guessed. He was sure that was the case, considering all that happened with Lumina and Caius. If it was him and Kairi, he wouldn't be leaving her by herself, even if the danger was gone.

Riku nodded slightly, his eyes finding Sora's. It was hard to walk away earlier, when he was so infuriated, but he knew that sticking around would have only made things worse for Lightning. It was never a good idea for him to be in her presence when angry. But now that he was calmed down, he would take care of her and help her rest up from today's events.

"We'll catch you up tomorrow then," Sora said. There was no need to talk about their plans now, not that the group really had plans to discuss. Their brainstorming session had been anything but successful. Most of them were so caught off guard with Lumina and Caius that they didn't know what to do.

Riku lifted a hand in a small wave and started down the hall again, going for the bathroom this time so he could get a rag. He needed to clean Lightning up and then they could rest in peace, at least for a little while. After that, Lumina would return, probably with another role to play for Caius.

Valhalla wasn't a completely terrible place to live. At least houses like this had beds with linen instead of prison cots. If Lightning and the others were going to get rest, at least it was an actual possibility with the livable conditions. While Riku was in the living room, Light laid herself down on her stomach. Her head was turned on the pillow so that she could breathe without labor. She was obviously beginning to relax, with her breathing very rhythmic and soft.

Riku got a wet rag and made his way back to the bedroom Lightning occupied. She was laying down by the time he got back, which he was glad to see. She needed to rest after all the trauma she experienced; everyone deserved the rest, actually. Regardless, Riku sat down near Lightning's legs on the bed, pulling one of her boots off in silence and then beginning to run the rag over her smooth skin. The blood was dry, but it was coming off with ease. This wouldn't take long.
