Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The movements woke Lightning up a little bit, the young woman fighting to stay conscious even if she really needed to sleep. She wanted to be there for Riku as long as she possibly could, even if Riku was treating her case like it was more severe than his. Of course she was upset, hurt, and confused, but Riku's problems were just as big to her, because she loved him. That was how relationships worked; the other person's problems were always more important.

Riku silently wiped down one of Lightning's legs, and once it was clean, he removed her other boot and cleaned that leg as well. He hated the sight of Lightning's blood, but it was either he did this or she did. And he definitely didn't want her doing it; she'd only remember who did this to her, and all of the nightmares that came along with it. Riku would carry that weight on his own.

Light peeked her eyes open after a while, knowing what Riku was thinking about. Lumina, or Serah, whoever she was. She didn't know how to distract him or herself from those thoughts, except to bring up one Riku told her a long time ago. It was soon after the worlds were turned to Valhalla that he asked her to try and keep her chin up and pursue happiness with him. She was too grieved to do it then, and even if she grieved now, she realized that a future would exist after this. "...When we go back to the islands," she started quietly, "let's sit on the beach and watch the sunset."

Riku stopped what he was doing, his hand lingering on Lightning's calf as he looked toward her. The request was so random, but he did smile faintly at the thought of the Islands. "...Deal," he replied gently. He missed the sun, and the beach. While Valhalla had a beach, it wasn't the same. Not at all.

"And we should jump off that cliff again," Lightning added quietly. The last time they did that, they were interrupted by an unwelcome villain. But jumping and falling that height into the water really was thrilling. Especially when Riku was right there by her side, having fun along with her. She missed those days.

Riku's smile grew somewhat as he finished wiping off any lingering blood on Lightning's skin. "I'd like that," he said. Of course, cliff-diving wasn't his number one priority when all of this was over. He just wanted to be happy with Lightning, and his friends. And of course, he was going to put a certain idea of his into action: a proposal.

Light felt a slight smile tug at her lips. Riku was responding, but his answers were short. To her, that meant that he was still upset about all that Snow said to him. She really didn't know what else she could do to cheer him up, so she shut her eyes and tried to think.

Riku leaned back when he was done cleaning up the blood, though he did let his free hand trail over Lightning's smooth leg. "...But I have a few other things in mind," he added quietly. Like he and Lightning moving in together, making her happy, proposing, marriage... All of it, really.

Lightning opened her eyes, glad that Riku was humoring her in conversation. She gently rolled over onto her back and began to sit up so that she could see Riku clearly. "Like what?" she asked. She wondered what other ideas he had in mind. Riku wasn't as mysterious to her as he used to be, but she was still clueless about some things.

Riku's faint smile became a smirk, the young man looking down at the rag in his hands as he shook his head. "Not telling," he said, looking back up at the woman he loved. As hard as it was going to be to recover from all of this, he and Lightning would get through it together. They overcame a lot of obstacles side-by-side. This wasn't any different.

Light arched a brow. "I told you two of my ideas," she said. "That means you should tell me two of yours." It was only fair that he share some thoughts with her, and besides, she could tell by the look in his eyes that he wanted to spill something to her. Well, this was his chance.

Riku gazed at Lightning in silence for a moment, wondering what exactly he should tell her. Did he hint at marriage, or even a proposal? Or did he keep that a secret until the time actually came? With Lightning, he had to be careful what he revealed. She was clever; she could pick at it until she found the truth. Riku didn't want that happening, especially with the marriage option.

Lightning waited in silence, lowering her gaze to the necklace Riku always wore. She gave him her lightning pendent a long time ago, and he hadn't lost it once. He didn't know it, but Serah gave her the necklace a long time ago. For a moment, she was pained with remembering Serah and Lumina, but she tried to keep it from showing on her face.

Riku thought he caught a hint of sadness on Lightning's expression, but it was gone a second later, so he forgot about it. "Just know that I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure you're happy, and with me," he revealed lowly. That was all he would give away. Lightning could interpret that however she wanted.

Light smiled weakly. "It's vague, but I guess those are two ideas." Happiness and the relationship continuing. Her eyes found his again, and she silently wished for him to be closer. But it was a small bed; there wasn't room for him to sit beside her at the head of it. Besides, she could never be close enough to him.

"For now," Riku started softly, "I hope it's good enough." He didn't want to reveal too much, because now wasn't the time for that. This wasn't the world he wanted to do it on, nor did he want this to be a symbol of their future. Valhalla was dull and lifeless. That wasn't what Riku wanted for his and Lightning's relationship. Ever.

"Yeah, it's good enough," Lightning agreed. Those ideas were nonspecific, but they were promises for a lifetime. Her happiness would be shared with Riku, just as it had been for a while now. Whatever future there was, she hoped that after all this tragedy, they could find happiness again and cling to it.

Riku moved closer to Lightning and pecked her on the cheek, pulling back once the kiss was done. "I love you," he told her gently. He knew that would be enough as well, because it always had been. Even when fate wasn't in their favor, they always seemed to make things right again. That was how it was always going to be.

Light set a hand on Riku's shoulder, leaning in and giving him a kiss on the cheek as well. "I love you too," she said quietly when it was done. She softened her hold on his shoulder, dropping her hand to her lap. "Will you go to sleep with me?" She was exhausted, and so was he. It was time to recover from their awful day.

Riku nodded. "Yeah. Just give me a second," he requested, rising to his feet. He needed to go rinse the washcloth and then wash his hands before returning for bed. Lightning could make herself comfortable in the meantime. Riku smiled weakly before starting out of the room, the bloody rag in his hands.

Light watched Riku go, but after a moment, she shifted on the bed. It was too small for two people, so she laid on her side on one of the edges so that Riku could have room behind her back. Serah, she thought randomly. Tomorrow, I'll find a way to get you back on our side. I won't let you die again.

Riku returned to the bedroom a few minutes later, not bothering to strip himself of his shoes or shirt. He saw that she left some room for him, so he wordlessly crawled in behind her and snuggled up to her back. He wrapped an arm around her front to keep her close and also keep her from falling off the bed in the middle of the night. Whatever troubles they had, they would take care of them tomorrow. For now, they needed to rest.

The next morning, everyone gathered in the living room for a discussion. Even Snow came, though he sat at a distance and didn't look at Riku. Lightning didn't look at him either, holding a grudge from the previous night. Snow was lucky that she didn't punch him this morning for all he said.

Riku sat next to Lightning as the group filled the room, his arms crossed over his chest. Snow lingered next to Hope, not that he spoke to anyone. Riku only glared at him once when he entered the room, but other than that, he kept his distance. After yesterday, Riku wasn't Snow's biggest fan.

Terra wasn't normally the idea person, but today, he had something revolutionary. "Guys, I realized something yesterday," he said. "I think I know how to fight the chaos." It was bold, but if it actually worked, then a lot of their troubles were gone. He came up with the idea last night, when he was trying to sleep. Something kept nagging him until he pieced it together and reached this conclusion.
