Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning jumped again when the Riku's shovel hit the coffin. She was too on edge, obviously. Once the coffin was within her sight, she didn't even know what to do with it. Was it locked? How was she supposed to open it? This plan wasn't well thought out at all, obviously because she ran here in panic and fear.

Riku looked back down at the coffin and kicked away some of the lingering mud, seeing the wooden coffin below. On the side, he caught a lock within sight. He tossed the shovel on the other side of the grave from Lightning, then summoning his Keyblade to his hand. He pointed it at the small lock, a small beam of light shooting from the tip. He heard the click of the lock and then moved over a little, placing a hand on the lid. But that was when Riku stopped, looking up at Lightning. Was she ready for this?

Lightning could have jumped over the hole to be by Riku's side, but she walked all the way around it instead before kneeling by his side. She would be leaning over the hole. If she was going to fall in, she wanted Riku there to grab her before she fell into the coffin. She was trembling because of that fear, and fear of Lumina's words being true. She kept her eyes on the coffin and nodded faintly. It was time to put this myth to the test.

Riku recognized that this was a coffin that had two sections: the lid that revealed the head of the dead, and the other that revealed the rest of the body. He would just reveal the top, because that was all they would need to see. Riku grunted, pulling on the coffin lid and revealing the truth. He stood there, stunned as he looked into the coffin. The rain hit nothing but cloth on the inside. There wasn't a body. The coffin was empty.

Lightning's eyes wandered over the coffin. It was empty. Nothing was there. And that meant...Lumina completely lied. It was all a lie... She wanted to fall down, and she controlled herself. She fell backwards instead, exhaling a shaky breath as the rain pelted her face and her back rested in the mud. So, she was who she said she was. She was Claire. Thank goodness.

Riku looked up at Lightning, and when he saw her fall back, for a moment he thought she fainted. He quickly closed the coffin and got out of the grave, then looking at her as he sat on his knees. Okay, so she wasn't unconscious, but she looked...relieved. That was good.

Lightning lifted an arm to shield her eyes, laying it over them as she tried to compose herself. All of it was a lie. She should have never believed all that Lumina threw at her. That girl can't be Serah. No matter how warped a person can be, Serah would never be inhuman enough to make lies like that. She began to cry underneath her arm, realizing the truth. Serah really was dead, and she wasn't coming back.

"Lightning..." Riku said softly, thinking he heard a sob. But over thunder, he couldn't really be sure. Was she okay? Relieved, or maybe sad? He couldn't really tell. Lightning was hard to read since Lumina recently appeared. Riku couldn't exactly figure out what she was thinking.

Light regained her senses after a few moments. "Can we fill the grave now? Please?" she nearly begged. She wanted it to stay empty; she didn't want to trip and fall and wind up in a coffin like some dead person. Despite all the pain and sorrow, she wanted to be alive. More than anything else in the world, she wanted to be alive.

Riku nodded, rising to his feet in silence. He turned and grabbed the shovel near Lightning, already getting to work. He would do as Lightning asked. After all, this was about her. She would get what she wanted out of him, especially at a time like this.

Lightning slowly rose to her feet, grabbing another shovel and getting to work. She didn't bother trying to wipe away the tears as they streamed down her face; the rain was doing a fine job making them unnoticeable. She may have been alive, but Serah was dead. The outcome of this trip to the graveyard never could have pleased her. It was as if Lumina knew that this type of heartbreak would arise. Either Lightning realized that she actually died when she was a girl or she realized Serah died and wasn't coming back, even if Lumina looked almost identical to her.

Riku shoveled the rest of the dirt into the grave, and once it was done, he looked to Lightning. He held out his hand for her shovel. He would go put them back in the shed, and then they could get out of here. Graveyards always gave him the creeps. Light's grave made it ten times worse, for obvious reasons.

Lightning silently handed Riku the shovel and then lifted her tearful gaze to the sky. Angry flashes of lightning streaked across the sky, matching the angry Lightning on the ground. She wasn't just sad; she was ticked. Furious. Caius was responsible for the abomination looking like Serah. He was going to face all of her wrath. There was no mercy for him.

Riku kept his eyes on Lightning for only a moment, but upon recognizing the anger in her eyes, he walked off. He knew better than to question her when she was angry. He'd seen her fury before; he didn't want to be on the receiving end.

Light fought to keep her feet planted in the mud. She wanted to sprint to wherever Caius was and personally stab him in the heart, but she knew this wasn't a battle she could handle alone. Anger would give her fuel, but it would impair her judgment in battle too. She wouldn't have cared before; she had wanted to die after Serah was gone away. Now things were different. She had to live through this, for Riku's sake.

Riku left the shed and walked through the downpour toward the woman he loved, and he stopped next to her, just gazing at her for a moment. But then he lifted his hand to lightly grab her upper arm. They needed to get going. Sickness on top of their other problems wouldn't do them any good. They needed to have full strength to take on Caius and Lumina.

Lightning snapped out of her thoughts of hatred at Riku's touch. She turned her head sharply and looked over at him, her fury slowly fading away. She couldn't look at him with the same hatred that she would show to Caius; her emotions for Riku were the complete opposite of hate. She didn't bother speaking as she started walking in the direction of their safe haven. It was time to recollect themselves, before the others returned and saw their sorry state.

Riku walked through town with Lightning at his side, thankful for the sight of their shelter. He held the door for Lightning, and once they were in, he went to grab more towels. They were much worse off than when they left this place.

Lightning briefly set a hand on Riku's arm to stop him once they were inside, knowing what he was thinking and where he was heading. "I'm going to take a shower," she said, speaking for the first time in a very long time. The rain managed to wash a lot of the mud off her legs and clothes, but she still felt filthy. Instead of just drying off, she wanted to wash herself clean.

Riku looked at Lightning for a small moment, then nodding. "Okay," he replied softly. He would wait out here for her, and the others. He couldn't imagine that they would be out much longer. The weather was too awful for that.

Light went back and took her shower, thinking she heard Riku outside the door a few times. He probably wanted to make sure she didn't jump out a window or something. It was a real fear, since she tried to escape the house one occasion and actually succeeded earlier in making it to the graveyard before Riku noticed she was gone. When she felt clean, she turned off the shower, summoned a clean pair of clothes and returned to the living room where, as she predicted, Riku was waiting.

Riku managed to dry off with a towel, since he wasn't as dirty as Lightning was. He stared at the ground as he sat on the couch, wondering where the others were. They probably got stuck somewhere because of the rain. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long. They had some information to share about Lumina's lie.

Light wordlessly sat down on the couch beside Riku, her side touching his. She didn't care if he was still wet and she was now completely dry; as if that would be on her mind right now. She brought up her legs in front of her and stared at her knees, tired of the anger, hate, and sadness. More than anything, she just wanted to go home.

Riku lifted a hand to sit on Lightning's knee, his thumb moving over her skin. He stared at that for a while, hearing the thunder roar outside the house. He wasn't sure what to say to Lightning. She just found her empty grave. What could he say to cheer her up?

The rain outside eventually disappeared. The clouds began to thin, but bolts of lightning still flashed across the sky and cracked menacingly. This was Lightning's anger. She converted her sadness into fury at Caius. Because the rain cleared up, the others were able to return to the safe house. It was funny--they thought that Light and Riku were sitting in silence because of Lumina's lies. They didn't know what else was causing them to be quiet.
