Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning walked directly into Riku, not shocked by his sudden appearance. She was more surprised that he didn't teleport sooner. What was going to shock her was that while she bumped into him, he put up an invisible shield behind him. Even if she worked her way past him, she would be in for an unpleasant surprise when she tried to take another step forward.

Riku didn't budge when Lightning bumped into him, glaring at her in disappointment. She knew better than to do this. He knew she could act irrational when angry, but what good would that do her? So she got to Caius, but what then? Her fury would blind her. She couldn't be stupid when it came to this next battle, whenever it happened.

Lightning stepped back, looking up and seeing Riku's glare. He hadn't even tried to grab her to keep her in place. If he thought the glare and his visible presence was going to stop her, he seriously underestimated her anger. "That's not going to keep me here," she said, stepping over and passing him. When one of her hands tapped a solid in front of her, she paused. She lifted both hands and set them in front of her on the invisible wall. "...But that might slow me down," she said, closing her eyes in bitterness. Now it made sense why he wasn't panicked enough to grab her and physically hold her down.

"Regret giving me those powers now?" Riku asked, turning slightly to look at Lightning. He was being smart with her, but she had to look past her fury and see what she was doing was wrong. Didn't she want to live? Didn't she want to change this future? This wasn't how their lives were supposed to be, and Riku felt insulted that she was willing to throw it away.

As Lightning ground her jaw in anger, the sky was lit by a streak of light once again. She wouldn't regret giving Riku the power to save her; that shield once saved her and her family. But today it was an annoyance. She pulled her sword out of her pack and swung it at the shield once, testing it. It was a good shield.

Riku didn't even flinch at the attack against his shield, still glaring at Lightning with disapproval. "Mind sharing what your big plan is?" he asked with a small tilt of his head. Lightning didn't exactly object to Hope's "waltzing in" plan, but there had to be more to it than that.

"Kill Caius," Lightning said, swinging her sword at the shield again. "If you want me to be at my best during the fight, get rid of the shield. I don't feel like wasting energy here." She could break through if she wanted to, or go around it. But if she used too much power with Riku and Hope trying to stop her, she would be more vulnerable in her fight with Caius.

"If you don't fight today, it gives the rest of us time to come up with a logical plan," Riku replied lowly, glancing over at Hope. He was frowning as well, not that Riku was surprised. Hope could see just how irrational Light was being, just like everyone else who joined them outside. The soldier in Lightning was gone, and nobody knew where she went.

"I have a logical plan. I'm using my anger to my advantage in a battle. I'll never be stronger than I am right now." Light charged her sword with dispel magic, swinging it at the shield one more time. Down the shield went. "Excuse me." She started walking again, keeping her sword in her hand. If they seriously wanted to stop her, they would have to do better than that.

Riku took a few quick steps forward, grabbing Lightning's arm firmly. She could try her best, but he wouldn't let go. "You're not going anywhere," he said lowly. "Not until you calm down. At this rate, Caius won't have much of a battle on his hands." Caius always sent Lumina to do his dirty work, so what made this fight any different? Lightning would act out against Lumina, make rash decisions, and then lose. Riku wasn't having any of it.

Riku just made the wrong decision. He grabbed the arm without the sword. Light wouldn't point the sword at him right away though. "Do not underestimate my ability to function under rage," she warned him lowly. "I'm not afraid to challenge you here and now." She still had her weapon, and even if she didn't, she could summon swords to her hands. Riku didn't want to press her any more than he already was.

Riku blinked, but then his eyes narrowed. "You're willing to fight me now?" he asked lowly. What's gotten into you? She would never willingly fight him, or threaten him. "Someone who's trying to protect you, who loves you? Are you really willing to betray the rest of us for your own selfish desires?" This wasn't about the worlds anymore, not to Lightning. Now it was about avenging Serah.

Light's right hand began to shake, forcing her to tighten her grip on her sword. "Let me go, now," she ordered lowly. If Riku didn't let her go, she couldn't say what was going to happen. She knew that she was threatening somebody who loved her dearly, but she had to get to Caius. She had to kill him while she was strong.

"This isn't just about Serah," Riku replied slowly, voice tight at the threat. "You're not the only one suffering here. But even if you manage to get past me, somebody else will stop you, and then I'll catch up." Riku wasn't about to let Lightning kill herself. Running into this was suicide.

Lightning looked away, furrowing her eyebrows as she squeezed her eyes shut. There was no way to get past everyone without using up a lot of strength to fight them. And if she did get away, then she would be betraying them. She didn't want to betray the people she loved. Her family. She flexed her jaw in frustration, trying to decide what to do.

Snow walked a few steps forward, near Hope. "You're forgetting that the rest of us are willing to fight too," he announced. "You're not a one-person army, Light. We all want to end this, but we need to do it with a plan in mind. Anything else will kill us all." Nobody wanted that, and this future wasn't one the group wanted for the worlds. It was misery.

Lightning turned her head sharply, looking at Snow with anger. "Since when do heroes need plans, huh?!" That was what he always said back then. Heroes didn't need plans, because heroes never died. "You were willing to run off with me the other night to save Serah without  a plan. What, is that the only thing worth fighting for?"

"We were grieving," Snow replied tightly, his voice rising a little at the accusations thrown at him. "We still are, but we were stupid thinking we could do it on our own. Do you honestly think Serah would approve of that?" The answer was no. Serah always hated Snow's rash behavior, but she loved him anyway. She kept him grounded, and showed him that he was a hero even if he failed sometimes.

"Don't you try to pit Serah against me," Lightning snapped lowly. She tried to tug her arm out of Riku's, but of course she didn't succeed. It wasn't a matter of strength; it was a matter of position, and he was in a better one than she was right now. Still, she tried yanking out of his grip again. She wanted to fight Caius, right now.

"You know I'm right," Snow said, stepping forward once more. "So stop being so stupid! You can't take him on your own. You're not strong enough!" Even if that hurt her ego, Snow was telling the truth. Light wouldn't succeed. She would fail, miserably.

Lightning lifted her gunblade, pointing it at something other than the ground. "You I don't have a problem hurting," she said through her teeth. "After your stunt the other night, I could put a bullet through your leg without regret." If he tried bringing Serah into this one more time, he would be sorry.

"That's enough!" Hope hollered, standing in front of Snow now. Even if the man was taller than him, Hope knew Lightning wouldn't shoot any bullets with him in the line of fire. Why couldn't Lightning just accept that she wasn't going to win this battle? She was done, and she wasn't going anywhere. Riku's tight grip reinforced that.

Light's hand started trembling once again. Hope always forced her to be rational in a way that Riku couldn't. When they were l'cie, Lightning ran off on her own and Hope followed. She had to be responsible for his sake back then. ...Now was no different. Looking into his eyes made her feel ashamed of how she was acting, and afraid. She was afraid she let him down.

"What happened to the woman who assessed every situation?" Hope asked tightly. "The person who said I was a liability because she knew that the situation was too tough for me?" He frowned at her, shaking his head in disappointment. "I'm not the liability anymore, Light. With the way you're acting, you are." He gazed at her with hard eyes, a question in them. "Do you really want to die?"

Of course Lightning didn't want to die. She just didn't want to live like this any more. Caius messed with her heart one too many times. Last time, he nearly destroyed her. Whatever he did next would demolish her completely. With a trembling hand, she tried to put her sword away in its case. Instead, it caught the top of it and fell out of her grasp and clammered to the ground. It was over. She tried to replace her fear and sadness with anger, but she couldn't do it.
