Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Hope glanced back at Snow, who nodded to him before he looked at Riku. The young man's grip was still tight on Lightning's arm, but Hope didn't think it was necessary. "We're going to get through this. Together," he said, looking from Lightning to the rest of the group. "All of us are going to set things right. No one else is going to die. Understood?"

Roxas saw that Hope was beginning to take charge, and because he agreed with him, Roxas nodded. Nobody was going to die. They were going to change the future.

While others agreed with Hope, Lightning turned her face away so nobody could see it. She brought up a hand and tried to shield it from sight the best she could, though her hand was still trembling. "I can't take it," she said weakly to Riku. "I can't take it..." She couldn't put what "it" was into words, but it was clear in her mind. She couldn't handle Caius using a Serah look-a-like against her again and creating lies that could destroy her. It wasn't her physical being she was afraid for anymore.

"Then don't," Riku replied quietly, speaking only to Lightning. She didn't have to take anything. Whatever she was referring to, she could fight it, as long as she had hope. She lost it when Lumina showed up, believing in lies. But if she remembered what everyone agreed to, and thought of a future they could have together, she had another option. "...Fight it."

Lightning slowly shook her head in her hand. "I'm only good for physical battles," she said quietly. She wasn't good at facing emotions or lies or any other situation that required fighting. The only fights that she ever felt comfortable in were ones with a sword. Those were the only battles she ever won permanently.

Riku shook his head, his hold loosening on Lightning's arm before he gently squeezed it. "You have me to back you up," he told her softly. "For everything." Emotional or physical battles, he was there. She should have known that by now.

Light kept her hand at her fact, taking in Riku's words. She knew how important it was to have someone back you up in battle, and she knew how dependable Riku was. But he was wrong. He couldn't back her up for everything. That was proven in the most recent battles, like the one where Lumina trapped her in an enclosed area. He couldn't back her up in the physical battle or the mental one. She wanted him to be right, but... "You're wrong."

Riku looked at Lightning in surprise, and confusion. He was wrong? How? He thought moral support was the best kind....but maybe he was wrong. Was he not enough to get Lightning through her battles?

"You aren't always there to back me up. Lately there have been plenty of battles that kept you away from me. And you can't always shield me from emotional attacks. Those ones..." Light swallowed, thinking of all the damage Lumina impacted lately. "...Those are the ones I can't face alone, but you can't face them with me either." They were her battles, but she couldn't win them. It was hopeless to even try sometimes.

"Lightning," Riku said softly, stepping to be in front of the woman he loved. "You always have us to help you. We're connected." All she had to do was look inside her heart, and she would realize it was truth. None of them were ever alone in anything.

"Wrong," Light said softly with the shake of her head. She had to face Lumina's lies by herself. Riku may have helped her dig the grave, but he didn't ask her what she was feeling. He didn't ask her if she was angry, sad, or scared. He was just as bad as she was with the non-physical battles. But she wouldn't say those words aloud to him.

Riku only gazed at Lightning, not sure what else he could say. The fact that they were connected wasn't good enough for her, he guessed. So what was there to do other than go back to the safe house? There obviously wasn't going to be a fight today. Riku released Light's arm, his gaze finding the ground. If everyone else was ready, they could head back.

As soon as her arm was free, Lightning felt the urge to run. But Riku was still too close to her; he would stop her easily. She wasn't even sure she wanted to run anymore. She was too scared to be useful in battle. All she wanted was to change that fear to fury so that she could have an advantage over Caius. Maybe if she could make it there, she'd find the strength to fight again.

Riku glanced at Lightning only briefly before he started back toward the group. They were heading back now, and he imagined Lightning would come too. If she wouldn't, she would have to deal with Riku, Hope, and Snow's wrath combined. That wouldn't be pretty.

Lightning lifted a hand, gripping her arm where Riku had. He had a tight hold on her, and he believed that he still had a hold on her emotionally because he wasn't putting in the effort to physically restrain her anymore. He did have influence on her, and so did Snow and Hope. She now felt terrible about what she was trying to do before. What she was still thinking of doing. Looking over her shoulder, she saw Riku and others heading back to the safe house. ...I'm sorry. I can't be in that room when I'm so out of sorts. Keeping her steps as quiet as she could, she began to run.

Kairi started back with the others, and she glanced behind her toward the three men who went after Lightning first. That was when she saw a retreating figure. Kairi stopped, a gasp leaving her. "Riku!" she cried in alarm. Lightning was running off!

Riku turned sharply at the shout, his eyes wide. That was when he saw that Kairi was right. He grunted and took off after Lightning, running as fast as he could. This isn't happening! he thought in outrage. Lightning was actually going to fight Caius!

Lightning slipped behind a building and ran through a dark portal of her own creation. In that instant, she mentally apologized yet again to everyone. But then she was gone, on the top floor of an abandoned building on the other side of the city. Surely she was out of Riku's range when it came to smell. There was no way for anybody to track her to this place. It was safe, for now.

Riku went around the corner like he saw Lightning do, but that was when he stopped. Snow stopped beside him, who cursed under his breath. Riku only glared at the stench. "She used a portal," he stated. Lightning ditched them.

Sora and a few others approached where Riku and Snow were, hearing the former state what happened. "I guess we'll just need to split up and look for her," he said. He didn't get why it was so important for Lightning to face Caius alone, immediately. They were all in this fight together, so why did she have to be by herself? He didn't realize that in the other side of the city, Lightning knelt down on a floor and began trembling in fear. When it wasn't anger driving her, it was fear. And fear always made people irrational.

"We need to split into groups well-balanced," Hope pointed out. "We need to be prepared if we run into Caius or Lumina first." They needed to be very well prepared. If they weren't, their lives would be over. Now that Lightning took off, they had to find her before Caius did.

Namine looked over the group, though her sights rested on one person in particular. "Riku?" she tried gently. She could tell that he was angry, but there had to have been so much more than that going on inside his head. Was he okay enough to help them search? Did he even want to search, or was he too angry with Lightning?

Riku turned around, facing the others. His eyes found Naminé first, but then he looked to the group. As furious as he was at Lightning, he couldn't--and wouldn't--leave her to die. "...We need each group to have someone of speed, strength, and magic to cover any weaknesses," he stated. "I'll lead the group of four."

  • Author

While the groups were sorted, Lightning sat on the floor and gazed at her knees. She was so stupid for running off. Riku was going to kill her when she got back, if Caius didn't kill her first. It was fine though; this was what she wanted all along, right? She wanted to fight Caius while he thought she was weak so that she could beat him when he was so smug. So she would go and face him with all her fury and fear and put an end to this nightmare. All she needed was a minute to compose herself. Then she'd go.

"Not one of your smartest choices, Lightning," Caius called from another rooftop. He stood with confidence, able to see from his spot that Lightning was already crumbling. The soldier wouldn't hold her own for long. "Betraying your lover's and friends' trust."

  • Author

Light rose to her feet, growling as she stared across rooftops to the man nearby. "Facing me when I'm angry isn't your smartest choice," she retorted viciously as light flashed in the sky behind her. Caius didn't know what he was getting himself into. Just seeing his face made her feel all the fury again, and that was enough to cover any fears she had of Lumina's mind games.

Caius looked up at the sky at the bolt of lightning, and he smirked. "Influencing the sky with your anger," he stated then, smirking. "Impressive, especially for someone with so little left. Your sister, your home, your future... Such a pitiful life. What's left to fight for?" Nothing. There was nothing.
