Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"The last," Noel said with a small nod. "Noel Kreiss. Nice to meet you." Serah didn't even know who he was, because they hadn't met yet, according to her. But they would be good friends, he was sure. And apparently he would have some things in common with Fang and Vanille, as well.

"Vanille," she greeted, taking her turn and giving Hope a hug. She didn't know what he meant by "the last", but now wasn't the time for that. It had been a long time since she saw her friends and l'cie family. One person other than Sazh was missing, and she was tucked back into the kitchen making food to feed the masses. What a party this was turning out to be.

Fang approached the tallest man of the group, looking up at him. "Haven't seen you for a while. How's it going, Hero?" she asked, her accent present. She watched over them alongside Vanille while they were crystal, but that was all they could do. It was nice to see them in person again.

Snow instantly chuckled. "C'mere," he said, stepping forward and bringing Fang into an embrace. She nearly protested, but he made it brief for her sake. "Good to see you. Feeling refreshed?" They did sleep for a while, after all.

Fang smirked. "Better than you know," she said, lightly punching him in the arm. It was good to be back.

Who was banging on my door? Lightning wondered for a few minutes. She unfortunately couldn't go look because she couldn't leave the pancakes, but now they were all done and she could slip into the living room. When she did, her eyes widened. This was absolutely impossible. She saw Cocoon's pillar destroyed a long time ago, and Fang and Vanille along with it. They weren't alive.

Snow turned his head when he caught movement out of the corner of his eye, seeing Lightning. "Hey, Light," he called. "Look who's here!" He put a hand on Fang's shoulder, and the woman lifted a hand in a casual wave. Fang made it seem like she never left, and the same happened with Vanille. It was still hard to believe they were here...

"Um...yeah," Lightning said. "I'm looking." She took a few steps forward, wandering to where Snow, Fang, and Vanille were standing. Just in case she was viewing a hologram or some ghost, she reached forward and poked Vanille in the forehead. While the girl giggled at Lightning's uncharacteristic actions, Lightning started to recognize reality. They didn't just save Serah by changing time; they saved Vanille and Fang too in some unknown way.

Riku leaned against the arm of the couch that Kairi and Sora were sitting on. While he was happy they were back safe and sound as well, his eyes were on Lightning. Her face when Fang and Vanille showed up would be stuck with him for a while. Her happiness, even if it was shrouded by surprise, was good to see.

Just another weird thing happening on a weird day, Lightning thought, shaking her head slightly. "You're as hungry as ever, aren't you?" she finally asked, speaking specifically to Fang. That woman had a monstrous appetite when they all traveled together. Vanille probably did too, but she kept it toned down so Fang could eat all the food she wanted.

"Of course," Fang replied with a nod. "Being stuck in crystal without a thing to eat takes quite a toll on your appetite, yeah?" She looked from Lightning to Snow, seeing him roll his eyes. He had just a big of an appetite as her, so he didn't have room to talk.

  • Author

"Yeah, I guess," Light said. She wouldn't know about being stuck in crystal from experience; she would just trust Fang on that one. She headed back to the kitchen to make even more pancakes, using up the last of her materials in the fridge to make enough for everyone. This was seriously bizarre but so, so, great.

Riku ate pancakes along with everyone else, though Fang's appetite rivaled Sora's, which was hard to beat. He finished up his plate and started working on the dishes. Lightning cooked, so he could at least help clean up. Everyone else was in the living room catching up, but no one spoke of Caius. Somehow, they agreed to keep that a secret until the party was over.

Lightning joined Riku in the kitchen to clean up since everyone else forgot about chores and started socializing. It was natural how Lightning was the responsible, sensible one of the group again. Now that time was restored, everything else was falling into place so naturally it was as if it never was different than this.

Riku glanced over at Lightning when she was beside him, and he figured that since he was washing, she could dry. He wordlessly handed her a clean plate, smiling weakly. No words were needed. He understood what she was thinking, and that was that everything was working out for them, the way it was supposed to.

Everything was as it was meant to be. Within a few hours, they all broke free of Lightning's home in Destiny Islands and found themselves on the beach of Bodhum. Amazingly, more than Fang, Vanille, and Serah were resurrected in this new timeline. Cocoon was still very much intact and thriving. They could have all had a beach party in Destiny Islands, but they had to fly to Cocoon to see for themselves that the world was back. Lightning sat on the beach and soaked up the sun, along with everything else. A part of her wondered if this was a dream, because it was all too perfect.

Riku tore himself from Sora and Kairi, who were attached at the hip since things in Valhalla. Kairi had been all about her honeymoon when times were tough, but it was nice to see that she and Sora agreed to ditch the second honeymoon and be with everyone else, especially on Bodhum. Riku thought it was impossible for a world to be restored after what happened with the Maker, but here they were. Snow and his NORA friends were hosting the beach party, and the entire town was invited. It was crazy busy on the beach, but Riku managed to find Lightning just outside the crowd, alone. He smiled to himself as he approached, finding it pretty typical. She always was the lone wolf, just like him, but they both found their mate. Each other.

For a few moments, Lightning didn't register that the person she saw in the corner of her eye was Riku. Needless to say, the shock of having everything taken away from her and then being returned without explanation was throwing her for a loop. Of course, she didn't lose everything. She always had somebody important to her by her side, supporting her even when she was moody, confused, angry, sad, and everything in between. Finally she registered that he was coming towards her and she looked over, a faint smile appearing on her lips.

Riku's eyes were locked on Lightning as he approached, her smile keeping his locked in place. "I figured you'd be glued to Serah all day," he said, sitting down beside her. He propped one elbow up on his knee, looking from Lightning to the ocean. It was like Destiny Islands in a lot of ways, but different. But he accepted it, because their home worlds reflected how Lightning and Riku were; different, but the same.

Light looked at Riku but then followed his gaze to the ocean. He meant to say it as a joke, but anything with Serah was going to be tender for a while. "Serah's worried," she said softly. "About how all of us reacted to seeing her today." While she was out of the room, they came up with a story as to why they freaked out when she was alive and well. They told her that the Darkness invaded all of their dreams last night and had them dreaming in unison. In that dream, Serah died. That was why they were so glad to see her. That story saved them from explaining the horrors of Valhalla, Caius, and Lumina. But still, Serah was worried because in her mind, the dream they had must have been terrifying for them to react that way. She was concerned for all of them without knowing the truth of the matter. "...So I thought I should distance myself instead of clinging to her, to show her that I'm okay."

Riku's smile dimmed at that as he nodded. "Makes sense," he said in reply. Lightning was naturally distant from everyone, except for Riku. He somehow managed to squeeze past that wall in the past, and now he would never leave. At least Lightning was okay with that, especially after how they acted towards each other in Valhalla. He apologized for it, but he still felt bad; he wasn't exactly kind. He had just been so scared for her, for everyone. It wasn't a situation to be taken lightly at the time, and it wasn't now. But at least things were okay again. Better than okay, actually. Everyone was alive and the worlds were restored. It was great.

Light looked over at Riku again, a slight smile tugging at her lips. "Everything's too perfect," she said, keeping her voice soft just because. "Serah, Fang, Vanille, and Cocoon...This isn't just a dream, is it?" Her blue eyes were locked on him, pleading for him to say that this was reality. After all the horror and devastation of her life, it was rare for things to be this good. But it was bound to happen eventually, right? Things had to work out even for her once in a while.

Riku felt the gaze on him, and he turned his head to meet it. His aquamarine eyes locked onto the pale blue he loved. "It'd be a cruel dream if it was," he said in response, smiling a little as well. But what he wasn't saying was that it was real. This was a new beginning for all of them, a chance to start over and shape their futures.

Lightning's small smile remained. "I've seen a lot of cruelty, too much," she said. It sounded negative, but she was getting to the positive. She lifted a hand to Riku's cheek, the warmth of his face different from the heat of the sun. "But I've seen a lot of beauty, thanks to you." Riku helped her keep perspective and see hope where she wouldn't before. There was beauty in the tragedies that always triumphed over everything else.

Riku's smile grew a little, and he turned his head, kissing Lightning's wrist before lifting his own hand to hold hers to his face. He was flattered by her words, ones he would take to heart. If he was having that big of an impact on her now, he couldn't wait for their future. "...Just you wait," he told her softly. "There's a lot more for you to see."

  • Author

"And I can't wait for you to show me," Light said softly, her smile still in place. On this day, she couldn't help but keep smiling. Today was a day that she would celebrate all that she was blessed with. Right now, she was celebrating Riku. He may have called her his Light, but he was her Light too in so many ways. He always guided her home when she was lost, and showed her beauty, just like she said he did.

Riku released a small hum at the words, happy to hear them. He then leaned forward, connecting his lips with Lightning's in a light kiss as they sat on the beach. They weren't the only ones rejoicing their new beginnings; the rest of their friends were as well. It would be hard not to, considering the chance they were given. New lives, new destinies. It would be great.
