Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"There are still some leftovers," Sora said, eyeing the ones that remained lined up on the beach. He turned around, seeing Lightning's gaze land on him when he made eye-contact. "Light, can we--"

"Be my guest," Lightning invited with a nod. They could light off the fireworks if they wanted to. She got them for the purpose of cheering everyone up, and it seemed like the mission succeeded without a hitch. She was glad that something went right for once, though she was having a hard time forgetting what happened earlier with her sister's husband.

Riku heard Kairi squeal again, and he smirked at her before he looked to the woman he loved. His smirk remained, not only in amusement, but also in adoration. Riku winked at Lightning, thanking her for this opportunity. His friends needed it after Valhalla, and after what he did today. Especially Serah.

Lightning couldn't help but smile again with Riku's wink. She understood what the wink was for--it was easy to, since the two of them were so often on the same page. She nodded back to him to say that she received the message before she motioned for him to light another firework too. She would sit out again because of how much she lit them in the past.

Riku did as Lightning directed, though Kairi's insistent pulling on his arm acted as encouragement too. He walked over to grab a firework out of the bags that they had, witnessing her giddy nature. It was nice to see that again.

Lightning watched her friends with amusement, thinking everything over. So much had happened with all of them in Valhalla. Sora hadn't said much to her, but he sided with Kairi when Kairi said that Valhalla was Lightning's fault. Of course Kairi was forgiven for that; she was upset about her honeymoon being interrupted. Snow wasn't forgiven yet for what he did in Valhalla though. Or what he did earlier that day.

Snow turned away from Gadot with a roll of his eyes, aware that what he was about to do was right. It wouldn't justify anything, but it was something he felt in his heart that he should do. Besides, he viewed Lightning as a sister. Hitting her was beyond out of line; he had to do something.

Out of the corner of her eye, Lightning saw movement in the food tent. That was where the NORA gang had been hanging out all day. It didn't surprise her that they were still there, and probably avoiding her. Snow was a perfect man in their eyes; they never viewed any of his decisions as a mistake. They were idiots for that, because Snow obviously made a lot of mistakes.

Snow looked over just in time to catch Lightning's eye, and that was when he glanced back at Gadot. "I have to do this," he said lowly, making his point despite his friend's objections. Serah's face...and Lightning's...after what he did haunted him. He couldn't not apologize. If he didn't, it would be a path of Darkness he was walking, and that was the last thing he wanted. Snow wordlessly started out of the tent, over towards Lightning while her friends were distracted, especially Riku. Snow didn't want to get attacked again.

Lightning turned her body completely when Snow started directly towards her, but other than that, she didn't move. If she stepped further away from Riku after what happened, he was going to be ticked at her. At least she wasn't moving away from Snow. After what he did, he didn't deserve the chance to apologize right away, but Lightning was both merciful and reasonable. Snow had to apologize if he was going to start fixing things with Serah, and the last thing Lightning wanted was for Serah to suffer.

As Snow made his way over, he glanced at the group of people that were setting up the fireworks. Nobody glanced back, which meant he hadn't attracted attention yet. He would take that chance. "Lightning," he said softly, the old Snow present as dread came through in his eyes. "Please...let me explain." If she walked away...well, she would have by now, or at least told him to keep his distance. But here he was, only a few feet separating them.

Lightning stood where she was, hands in her sweatshirt pockets as she remained silent. Snow had her attention, and he would keep it for now. She saw something in him that she didn't see earlier: remorse for his actions. She just hoped that now he realized that he had issues with anger and needed to do something about it other than hit people or insult them.

Snow looked the woman he viewed as family right in the eye. "...First I want to say I'm sorry," he stated softly. "I never, ever meant to hurt you like that, nor did I mean to hurt Serah. Deep down you know that I'll never put Serah in harm's way. If being with me is risky..." He sighed, closing his eyes. "...I'll leave. But causing physical harm to anyone, or even yelling at them, is unacceptable. I know that now. I've always known that." Snow glanced over at his wife as she enjoyed another round of fireworks, sadness in his eyes. "I hurt Serah by hurting the one person she treasures more than anything, and I'm ashamed of myself. I know an apology doesn't mean forgiveness, and that's okay. But I had to say I'm sorry. You're family to me, Light, with or without your blessing."

Lightning took a step forward. This was the Snow that she knew and loved. That was why she didn't feel threatened by him now that he was closer to his normal self. "Remember what I said in Valhalla?" she stated, speaking just loudly enough to be heard over the fireworks. "Family always gets second chances. And I'm sorry it took until now for me to give you that second chance." He went against her and Riku in Valhalla by insulting him, and she held onto the grudge for a long time. Maybe she shouldn't have held it against him so much since he was clearly upset about Serah when he said it...But she still wanted him to apologize to Riku for that, sometime soon.

Snow couldn't smile at the words, even though he should have; he was still too busy beating himself up. Such a thing kept him from noticing a pair of sharp eyes finding him close to Lightning, and the fury that appeared within them. "...I'll get help," he volunteered. "I'm not aggressive by nature, you know that. I mean...look at Serah. How can someone so...amazing commit to someone so bad? She saw the good in me the moment we met, and that's what I'm going to work on getting back. But...I had to make sure you were okay with that first." Lightning was Serah's blood. Her opinion mattered to Snow.

Lightning didn't notice the glare coming in their direction either, since her focus was entirely on the conversation. "Snow..." she said slowly, collecting her thoughts. "What would you do if I forbid you from being with Serah? Would you actually stay away?" He asked if it was okay with her if he worked to regain his old self, but did he realize the full extent of what he was asking? And if he did, was this just talk again?

Snow looked away at the question, hating it already. Just the thought of leaving Serah scared him to death, but he had to respect the woman who raised Serah as well. Serah would want that respect too. "...If it's what's best for Serah," he said with a small nod. Snow loved her with all he had. Whatever was best for Serah, he would make sure it happened.

Riku didn't tear his gaze away from the conversation happening not too far away, hearing it even over his friends' chatter and laughter, as well as the fireworks. They continued to shoot them off without a care in the world, while anger built up in Riku's chest and pumped adrenaline through his veins. Snow...

Lightning was somewhat surprised at the response, but then again, she didn't know what she had been expecting. After a few moments of thinking, she decided it was enough that Snow apologized for his anger issues, even if he didn't specifically apologize for what he did to Riku. He was genuinely sorry and willing to change. It was enough. "That's a decision that you'll have to make," she declared, looking up into Snow's eyes again. "I'm leaving her in your care." She lived in Destiny Islands after all. If she really wanted to, she could have tried to separate the couple, but she grew up in the past few years enough to realize that Snow and Serah's relationship was a good one. She wouldn't try to separate them again, not until the day Snow posed a serious threat to Serah.

Snow felt relief flood his heart, and he closed his eyes as he released a breath he didn't know he was holding. "...Thank you," he breathed. He thought for sure Lightning was going to order him to leave Serah, especially after taking away her blessing. But she said that this was his second chance, right? Could he really redeem himself?

"What?" Riku spat, walking toward the two now. "...Light?" What was she thinking? Snow hit her, and he could possibly do the same to Serah! He was all talk; no way was he going to change!

Light blinked, turning her head sharply towards the young man who was coming their direction. Well, this wasn't good in any way. Riku noticed Snow was here and apparently had noticed for a few minutes. "Riku, it's alright..." she tried. Everyone made mistakes, including Snow and including her. Didn't Riku remember how she forgave Snow for trying to kill her in Valhalla? Forgiveness was a big thing in their family, along with second chances.

"You're kidding, right?" Riku stood close to Lightning's side, glaring at Snow as he stood there in silence, on guard. As you should be, the young man thought with hatred. "You're letting him stay with her, after what he's done?" Not only did he hit Lightning, but Snow nearly killed her back in Valhalla. And then he compared Riku's Darkness to poison. How could she forgive someone like that?

"He made mistakes," Lightning said, setting a hand on Riku's stomach in a way to keep him back from Snow if he lunged forward. "And he's going to set them right. Everyone deserves a second chance." Riku received plenty of second chances from Sora and Kairi. He had to understand that even a person like Snow deserved another try at life.

"We gave him that," Riku said, then lowering his voice to harsh whisper, "after he tried to kill you." He visibly saw Snow stiffen at the mention, and he was partially glad for it. Snow should have felt awful about that, considering what he could have done. Serah would never forgive him for that if she found out. Riku wasn't about to blab, but he could still be furious about it.

"Then everyone deserves a third chance," Lightning responded, matching Riku's low tone. "Riku...he lost his wife. Tell me you wouldn't act irrational and angry if that happened to you." She knew from past experience what kind of a person Riku would turn into if he lost her; time-travel seemed to always suck her into it and cause trouble. She went to a future where she was dead for seven years and Riku wasn't the best person there.

Riku looked away at just the thought, his hands clenching at the idea. He had the memories from a time he never lived, when he thought Lightning was dead for years. Just the flashes of memory, however brief they were, caused his heart to ache. Lightning may have had a point...

"I baited him earlier," Lightning continued, focusing her gaze back on Snow even though she spoke to Riku. "I said things I knew would make him angry to make a point. Don't blame him for falling into it and getting mad." He was partially to blame for his actions, but she set him up to fail.

"Hear that, Snow?" Gadot approached from behind Snow, joining in the conversation. "Lightning doesn't want you blamed for hitting her. So why are you apologizing when you did nothing wrong? She's the one that's guilty..." He was right all along. Lightning just proved it.
