Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku finished getting some of the banana bits out of his hair before doing as he was told. He picked up the bowl and dug the spoon in, leaning against the counter again. "Yes ma'am," he said, then shoveling some of the ice cream into his mouth. It did melt a bit, but it was still great. He was happy Lightning decided to surprise him with this.

Lightning first wiped her face clean, and then she began to shake up her hair between her fingertips. The sprinkles were going to take some time to come out, but at least she heard some of them falling into the sink with some effort. Whatever didn't fall out now would fall out in her sleep, or so she hoped.

Riku finally finished the bowl of ice cream and helped Lightning clean up, since they made a bit of a mess not only of themselves but also of the kitchen. He imagined that bed was next on the agenda, or maybe for Riku, a nice shower to get rid of the bananas. He placed the last dish in the sink before turning to the woman he loved, thinking she would probably head to bed now that the fun was over. They could enjoy themselves in the morning, now that the fighting was done.

Lightning stood up on her toes a bit, able to see Riku's hair better. There wasn't too much banana left in there. "You want me to pick out the rest, or do you want to take a shower?" she asked. She wouldn't blame him if he wanted a shower; after all, they were also in the ocean all day, so he was probably sandy from that.

Riku shrugged a little. "A shower wouldn't hurt," he admitted quietly. He didn't exactly want his hair smelling like crushed bananas, and he sweated a lot due to the heat on the beach. A shower would do him some good. He would come to bed after.

"I was hoping you'd say 'shower'," Light teased. Riku didn't stink right now, but he probably would be feeling pretty gross in the morning if he didn't wash himself off. "There are clean towels already hanging up you can use." Riku knew the drill, since he slept over at her house so often, whether that home was in Bodhum or Destiny Islands.

Riku hummed with a crooked smile before leaning forward and placing a kiss to Lightning's cheek. His eyes danced over her face when he pulled away, but only briefly, as he then turned to leave the room. "Don't wait up," he called over his shoulder. Riku turned the corner and made his way toward the bathroom to get all of these toppings off his head, ready for a good night's rest.

Lightning watched Riku go, a half-smile on her lips. Once he was gone from sight, she began to clean up the rest of the kitchen area before going through the house and turning out the lights. She planned to wait up for Riku despite his request that she didn't, but once she was in her bed and underneath the blankets, it was difficult. After a few seconds, she sat up and pressed her back against the headboard, her eyes falling shut as she still struggled to stay awake.

Riku left the bathroom, switching off the light as he traveled down the hall. Dressed in only lounge pants and smelling less like bananas and more like peppermint, he was ready for bed. He walked into the bedroom only to smile at the sight of his lover, shutting the door quietly behind him. "I told you not to wait up," he reminded her softly as he crawled into bed. She should have been asleep already.

Lightning smiled softly, not opening her eyes. She could judge perfectly by the movement of the bed where Riku was, so she easily lifted a hand and set it on the top of his head. "I know what you told me," she said quietly. And she went against what he said for her own reasons.

Riku smiled more at the words, then leaning forward to kiss Lightning briefly on the lips. "You wanted to cuddle, didn't you?" he teased softly, his voice low in the quiet room. He wouldn't mind that, actually, since they didn't get the chance to cuddle often in Valhalla.

Light's small smile remained after the kiss and the comment. "Maybe," she agreed lowly. She was sure that Riku would have cuddled up to her even if she was asleep though, so that wasn't her main reason for waiting for him to come to bed. But he could think whatever he wanted as long as it made him happy.

Riku chuckled a little and gently took Lightning's hand off his head, then settling into bed. He was exhausted from the day's events, since they involved a lot of excitement and energy. He was sure the next day would be the same; everyone wanted to celebrate being alive.

When Riku began to move, Lightning did too. She gently laid herself down on the bed, initially on her back with a hand on her stomach. Yeah, she was wiped out. Valhalla may not have actually happened in this timeline, but it happened to her body and her soul. That was enough to make anyone exhausted.

Riku scooted closer to Lightning and wrapped his arm around her stomach and waist, though his head was still on the pillow so he didn't smother her too much. "Love you, Light," he told her softly. It felt like it had been too long since he said that last. Did he even get to say it before she ran off to battle Caius?

Lightning moved her hand, laying it over Riku's arm. "I love you too," she said softly, turning her head on the pillow and peaking her eyes open to see him in the darkness. She couldn't wait to wake up tomorrow and see his face there with her. She didn't have to fall asleep alone and wake up the same way anymore. After a year of solitude, she was back where she belonged. Home.

Riku gazed at Lightning in silence for only a moment before closing his eyes, a small smile lingering on his lips. He wasn't sure what they were going to do the next day, but it didn't matter. The Darkness was gone, and the worlds were back in order, safe. Everything was okay again.

Lightning shut her eyes and was out like a light. The exhaustion didn't stop her from dreaming--if anything, it seemed to fuel them. She wasn't tossing and turning much, just jolting faintly every now and then. Her dreams told her that her reality was still Valhalla, and that she only dreamed of going back home. Caius was alive and well, Serah was dead, and another person was just added to the list. "No..." she muttered in her sleep, rolling away from Riku. "No..."

Riku wasn't as light a sleeper as usual, due to his most recent exhaustion and relief. His body told him it was time to rest deeply and peacefully, but for some reason, his heart felt differently. But why? What was wrong?

"Caius, no!" Lightning screamed in her dream. But her protests didn't hinder him. She watched in horror when Caius finished Riku off brutally before her very own eyes. "Riku..." she whimpered in her sleep, curling up into a ball in sadness and remorse because of the dream she thought was real. "Riku...Don't leave me alone..."

Riku's eyebrows furrowed slightly at the faint voice, also believing her heard his name. His heart ached for some reason, and unbeknownst to him at the time, it was because of Lightning's fear and heartbreak. He grunted slightly in his sleep, aware that for whatever reason he needed to open his eyes.

Lightning began to shed tears both in reality and the dream. In the dream, she sank down to her knees before Caius in surrender. He just took her last reason for fighting. He had her permission to kill her now, to put her out of her misery. If Caius was smart, he would have killed her right then and there so that she never rose to become a threat again. But he walked away and left her alone to suffer. "Riku," she whined again.

Riku had woken up a little bit, in time to hear the whimper. He opened his eyes at the sound, seeing that his hand was no longer on Lightning's waist. Instead, it was on the mattress, behind the woman whose back was to him. Whose form was shaking ever so slightly, but Riku's trained eyes caught onto it. He moved instantly, pushing himself up a little as his hand sat on the other side of Lightning. "...Light?" he said in worry. What was wrong?

"Riku," Claire muttered, not hearing Riku call her name in reality. She curled up more, so much so that her knees were up close to her stomach. She was grinding her teeth in her sleep, but it was obvious that she wasn't angry. It was immense sorrow that governed her actions and her expression.

Riku blinked, realizing in horror that Lightning was having a nightmare. By the looks of it, it was a bad one. "Light," he said, placing his hand on her shoulder and trying to turn her over. "Light, hey..." Something was wrong, and it involved him. What was she dreaming of?
