Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku lifted an eyebrow, unable to help but smirk. "Oh good grief," he said with a faint laugh. What was going on? Clearly Serah was their chauffer today, but what were they going to be doing?

"The meter's running!" Serah teased, tipping her hat slightly before climbing into the driver's seat. Normally it was the chauffeur's job to open doors for the passengers, but she figured she'd leave that to Riku today. This wasn't the last part she'd be playing in Lightning's date idea by a long-shot, but this would be the only place she was driving them.

Riku's smirk remained as he released Lightning's hand, approaching the door and opening it for the woman he loved. He waited for her to get inside before he went around the car and joined her in the backseat. He still couldn't stop wondering what was up... Where were they going?

The drive was only a few minutes long. They pulled up to Serah and Snow's house, where the former led them to a table that she had her husband set up earlier. The table was set with two chairs, a tablecloth, and the chandelier hanging over it. Salad was already on the table along with glasses of water and the key to a romantic dinner-date: a lit candle. That was obviously Serah's idea, not Light's. Once they were seated, Serah fled the room to work on dinner. After some coercing, Lightning not only had Serah doing her hair and driving her to her home, but she also convinced Serah to prepare a quick meal too. It was last-minute, but Serah was excited to take part in it, since it wasn't often that Lightning suggested something like this.

Riku looked around the house, having not been in it before. "Fancy," he said, referring to the table and the setting in general. He smiled at Lightning in good nature, appreciating this even if he hadn't completely shown it just yet. He was still in a bit of shock. Did Lightning go through all of this...because of him?

"Serah has expensive taste," Lightning offered, moving to her chair to sit down. This wasn't too extreme for Serah's house. She and Snow tried to sit down and have a fancy dinner like this once a week to keep their romance alive. Thankfully Snow was wise enough to stay out of the house tonight after what happened yesterday, so there was no chance that tonight was going to be dampened by him or Gadot.

Riku's smile only remained as he began to eat his salad. He had never had anything done like this before, not for him. Riku never believed he was worth it. What made Lightning think he was? What convinced her that he was someone who deserved love from anyone, her love especially?

Lightning didn't start with her salad right away. She gazed at Riku for a few moments, taking in his smile. Once upon a time, she thought that she wasn't a good fit for him. She thought that because she didn't make him smile all the time, another girl could have been better for him. But just seeing his smile now, however small it was, brought out by the simple offering of dinner changed her mind. She could make him smile after all, and she hoped she would be doing that for the rest of her life.

Riku remembered when he didn't deserve love. He cursed his home to Darkness, nearly killed his best friend, and used the Darkness for the worse. He was unworthy of any human contact at all, and even if Sora and Kairi forgave him for his mistakes, he still didn't believe he deserved a relationship the two shared. But then Lightning came along, just as lost and confused as he was. That was when everything changed.

Lightning tilted her head, noting a change in expression. The slight smile was still there, but Riku's eyes weren't lifting from his salad. At her angle, it almost looked like they were moist. "...Riku?" she tried softly. Was he alright? Hopefully she was just imagining things, but for a moment there, he looked sad. Was this date a bad idea?

Riku lifted his head to look at the woman he loved, unaware of the emotions in his eyes, other than confusion at her calling. "Hm?" he hummed, chewing on some of his salad. Did she say something? Maybe he missed it...

Lightning didn't know what words to say; she was never eloquent like that. She looked at him for a moment before she quietly rose out of her seat and walked around to him, and once she was there, she stood behind him, leaned down, and gave him a kiss on the top of his head as her hands rested on his shoulders. Whether he was sad or not, the gesture was meant to say "I love you."

Riku lifted his hand and placed one on Lightning's arm, his smile disappearing in confusion. "Light, honey," he said softly, unaware of her thoughts. What was the kiss for? He got the message, of course; he couldn't misinterpret something as amazing as being told "I love you."

I guess I misinterpreted things, Lightning thought, recognizing Riku's confusion. Well, she would have to explain her actions at least a little bit, or Riku was going to worry over her this time. She lifted her free hand and began to lightly smooth out his silver hair. "Sorry," she said randomly. "You spaced out and I thought you weren't happy."

Riku's small smile remained, only because he was amused at the assumption. "How could I be unhappy?" he asked, tilting his head up to look at her. "...I'm with you." That was the only place he wanted to be. He loved her, and she loved him. To be loved...it was the best feeling in the world.

A small smile tugged at Lightning's lips at Riku's statement. Things weren't always happy between them, but his words were so sweet that she wasn't going to argue with them. While one hand remained on Riku's shoulder, she set the other one on the back of the chair. "It's been a while," she started softly, "since we were happy." Valhalla was...terrible.

Riku nodded, lowering his sight to the table as he ran a thumb over Lightning's arm. "You're right," he replied lowly. "It has, but..." But things were going to get better. Lightning was going to be happy, and so was he. Riku had ideas in mind, but they would have to wait until later; right now, they needed to enjoy their date. Riku couldn't believe how long it had been since they had one.

Lightning bent down, resting her head against the side of Riku's. "I know," she said quietly. He didn't have to finish his sentence, because she had the same thoughts in mind. "We're going to make up for lost time." The next days, weeks, and months were going to be full of joy instead of the sorrow they experienced in Valhalla. It was their time to be happy now and leave all the sadness behind.

Riku closed his eyes, smiling again as he agreed. "Right," he said softly, gently squeezing Lightning's arm. It was summer, so the season was going to be filled with laughter, joy, and love; parties, time with family, and dates. And then...when the time was right, Riku would get down on one knee, and ask the woman he loved to be his...forever.

Lightning slowly stood up, gently taking her arm away from Riku's grasp before returning to her seat. It was time she actually began to eat her salad, since Riku was nearly done his and she hadn't even started. And anyway, if Serah had walked in and seen Lightning and Riku close to each other like that, she would have teased them and told them that cuddling could come after the meal.

Riku followed Lightning with his eyes, just watching her in silence. He knew she didn't try to be, but she was so graceful. And when she wore white like this, he couldn't help but think of how graceful she would be coming down the aisle. Man, I gotta propose soon. He couldn't wait anymore.

Lightning sat down and noticed Riku's expression, which was...weird. And his whole aura was unreadable to her. Well, unreadable in the sense that she couldn't tell what exactly was on his mind. At least she could see he wasn't upset. "You're quiet," she stated before starting to eat her salad. What was on his mind?

Riku picked up his fork again. "I've got some things on my mind," he said, smirking faintly as he took another bite of his salad. A proposal, an engagement, a wedding...Lightning being his forever. He was quite the sap nowadays, but it was just his heart talking. It was full of love for the person across from him.

"Such as?" Lightning prompted. It had been a while since they were able to sit down and actually talk, considering a lot of time in Valhalla was spent in silent grief. She hated how that kept coming up in her mind. She didn't want to think of something so sad on a night that was supposed to be so happy, which was why she was putting extra effort into keeping conversation alive.

"Their mostly secrets," Riku replied, eyeing Lightning before looking down at the little bit of salad that remained. Since they were secrets, and only his, he wasn't telling. He couldn't, or any element of surprise would be ruined. Proposals were meant to be surprises, and Riku wasn't going to disappoint.
