Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light felt slightly frustrated with the mention of secrets, because she hated being ignorant of anything. But she wouldn't take that out on Riku when he didn't mean anything by it. "Tell me something that's not a secret, then," she suggested as she ate more salad. There had to be at least one thing he could tell her, right?

"Well, I'm getting a place of my own soon," Riku revealed, his eyes on Lightning. "Here or the Islands, I can't decide." And he hoped she would join him, but only if she felt comfortable with it. They were practically living together anyway.

Light was so surprised that she had to fight hard not to choke on her salad. Riku wanting his own place made sense, and she had thought of that happening before, but... "Here or the Islands?" she repeated cautiously. Riku loved his home world, very very much. And if he was thinking of buying a home here, it would be the place he would live in; he wouldn't just buy a house if he didn't intend to live in it. Why would he think of leaving the Islands, when she already moved there for him?

Riku nodded, sitting back in his seat since he finished his salad. "You have your home back," he said, keeping quiet in case Serah could overhear. "I'm not making you choose again." He could tell how devastated she was when it fell, and how elated she was at its reappearance. Riku couldn't take Lightning away from her home, not after all she suffered.

Lightning shook her head softly in disagreement. "Destiny Islands is your home," she said, keeping her voice quiet since Riku lowered his. "You can't leave it just like that..." She was already living there, so there was no need to switch things up now. The sacrifice was already made, and that was that. Riku didn't need to lose his home.

Riku simply gazed at Lightning for a moment, really studying her. They had a conversation like this a long time ago, and that resulted in an argument. That wasn't happening today. "...Okay," he said with a small nod. She'd just have to live with him then.

Riku wasn't the only one doing the studying; Lightning was too. And she could tell that the issue wasn't resolved. There was no way it was that easy. "All of your friends live on the Islands," she continued. "You need to stay with them." They were too tight-knit to be separated.

"What about yours?" Riku asked, lifting an eyebrow. "Fang and Vanille, Hope, Sazh and Dahj... Serah." Lightning would surely cling to her sister for a while. Serah died, and even Riku was pretty insistent on spending time with her. Light was surely the same.

Lightning lifted a hand and pinched the bridge of her nose--a mannerism that she adopted from Riku. Yeah, she had family here too. And Serah...she knew what Riku was implying by saying her name last. Just being reminded of Valhalla again made her heart ache. "I already decided to make that sacrifice, a long time ago," she said lowly. "There's no need to reverse things." It was already done. Whether it was right or not, it was done.

That was before Serah died, Riku wanted to say. Instead, however, he nodded and lowered his gaze. "Okay," he replied. He would let this slide, since he didn't want this date to go wrong, even if he wasn't the one who planned it.

Again, Lightning knew that Riku was biting his tongue to avoid conflict. That was both good and bad for her. Good because Riku was being conscious of their effort to make the date a good one, and bad because Lightning hated pushing issues to the side when they were already brought up. Even now, she couldn't let the subject go. "If you have something to say, you should say it," she suggested, her voice tense as she tried to remain calm.

Riku stared at the table, contemplating what was on his mind. It had to do with the situation they were discussing, but he didn't want to continue to argue. So he brought up something else. "...I want to live with you, either way," he admitted, his aqua eyes finding Lightning's blue. Whether he lived on the Islands or here on Cocoon, he wanted Lightning by his side. "If that's okay with you."

This suggestion only caught Lightning slightly off guard; it wasn't completely unfounded, because she and Riku already spent a lot of time at her home and he often spent the night over. Yet she knew he was avoiding the issue that she wanted to discuss...She stared down at her salad for a few moments, trying to control her frustration and think logically. "...If you do want to live with me, we could just move into one of my houses." She already owned two--one on the Islands and one here on Cocoon.

Riku gazed at Lightning for a moment, aware that both of them would really have to think about this decision. It was a big one. He nodded in silence, understanding what she meant. One house on the Islands, the other on Cocoon.

Lightning caught the nod and started to compose herself. This wasn't a time to get frustrated with each other. She understood that Riku was thinking of moving here to make her happy, and she appreciated it, but she was scared that if he did move here, he'd hate being away from his friends and resent her for making him move. The last thing she wanted was for him to hate her.

Things were quiet at the table until Serah brought out their dinner, which looked delicious. That was to be expected with her cooking, of course. Once it was out, he busied himself with dinner, not sure what to say now that the most recent conversation ended. Instead, he thought about the future, regardless of housing; his future with Lightning hopefully as his wife.

Lightning wasn't too hungry for her meal; things were too tense between her and Riku for her to chow down. She sighed quietly and set down her fork, giving up on the meal for a moment. "I want you to be happy," she finally said, voice soft. "And I don't think you'll be happy away from your friends." They meant a lot to him, obviously. His whole life was devoted to his loved ones, while hers was...different. Complicated.

"Maybe not," Riku said, looking to the one he loved. "But as long as I have them, I'll be fine. I just..." He glanced away. "I don't know what kind of life you imagined for yourself...for us, but I want you around your family, especially now." Three of them died, in a sense. Lightning had been devastated. Riku never wanted to see her in such a state again, which was why he liked the thought of her being around them as much as possible.

Light lowered her gaze to her plate. She could hear Serah washing dishes in the kitchen, so she knew that her voice wouldn't be overheard. "You know I can't cling to Serah," she said quietly. "She doesn't know anything and I want her to stay ignorant." If Light was too clingy to her or anything out of the ordinary, Serah would suspect and discover the truth of Valhalla. Lightning had to spare her of that pain...So instead, she would bear the burden herself.

Riku didn't know what to say to that. Ignorance is bliss, I guess, he thought. He couldn't control Lightning, and she knew Serah best. Alerting her to an alternate timeline probably wouldn't be good. "...I'm dedicated to you in a way I've...never been for someone else," Riku admitted lowly, gazing at the woman before him. "I'm willing to make sacrifices, and I know you are too. So...as long as you're happy with the decisions you make, I'm okay with it." If she wanted to leave, and was sure about it, he would agree to it. As long as she was happy.

Lightning was touched by Riku's sincerity, as she always was. "Let's not decide right away," she said softly as her gaze remained down. "It's all too fresh..." The wounds of Valhalla weren't visible anymore. All the scars she had from battle were gone now, and so were the physical signs of aging that she had after living in Valhalla for a year. All the wounds that were left were emotional and psychological and couldn't be taken away by a spell.

Riku didn't know what to say to that either, so he hummed in agreement and started at his dinner again. Apart from this conversation, the date was very nice. He would have to find a way to thank Lightning later. He wasn't worth this much effort.

It didn't take long for Serah to come into the dining room again and see the silence. While she assumed that it was because of the fact that they were eating, Lightning knew that wasn't the only reason. But Serah turned on music nonetheless--soft, romantic, instrumental music that she surely expected Lightning and Riku to dance to.

Riku briefly glanced at Serah when she turned the music on, which made him smirk. She was a hopeless romantic, just like Kairi. He glanced at Lightning after a few minutes, his stomach full as he made a decision. Riku rose to his feet and stepped over, offering a hand to Lightning. His eyes asked the question for him: Dance with me?

Lightning had only been done her meal for about half a minute when Riku approached her and outstretched his hand. "You're pretty impatient, you know," she commented with a slight smirk. He was extremely patient with some things, but things like this--chances to hold her close and smother her with love--were different. He couldn't even wait a whole minute to ask her to dance...Goof.
